London Buses route 114 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Ruislip and Mill Hill Broadway station, it is operated by London Sovereign.
History
When the London Passenger Transport Board took responsibility for London's bus operations on 1 July 1933, route 114 was an established route operating between South Harrow station and Mill Hill via Wealdstone, Stanmore and Edgware.
On 30 January 1935, it was withdrawn between Edgware and Mill Hill. At the southern end, it was extended to Rayners Lane station on 17 April 1935.
On 13 June 1970, it was withdrawn between Harrow Weald and Edgware being replaced by route 286. From 23 April 1983, route 114 was diverted at Harrow to Mill Hill East station to replace part of route 140.
Upon being put up for tender, the route passed to Borehamwood Travel Services on 19 October 1991 and was withdrawn between Mill Hill East and Mill Hill Broadway stations. Route 114 was included in the August 1994 sale of the business to Sovereign Bus & Coach which later became part of London Sovereign.
Upon being re-tendered, it was retained by London Sovereign with a new contract commencing on 4 September 2004.[1] London Sovereign commenced a further contract on 5 September 2009.[2] Upon being retendered again, the route was awarded to Metroline who will commence operating the route on the 3rd September 2016.
