The school is situated on the outskirts of Keighley with views across the Aire Valley.

Notable alumni and people with school links
- Danny Ryan - Former head teacher. Following his death the Danny Ryan Fund was set up in 1985 to help children who have shown courage in the face of adversity.
- James Atkin – Former chart-topping, globe-trotting pop star. Lead member of band EMF. Currently works as a music teacher at the school.[5]
- Sean Gilligan - Former pupil and successful local businessman. Managing Director of Webanywhere Ltd in the UK and Webanywhere, Inc in the US.
