The range of a vehicle is the distance it may cover without having to be refueled or recharged.
The range of a mathematical function is the set of all possible output value of the function. Sometimes the range of a function is defined as the codomain of the function, but this definition is not accepted by most mathematicians.
A numerical range, or field of value, of a real or complex matrix A is the set
- {x*Ax : x is a unit vector}.
