opened investigations into nine situations: the Democratic Republic of the Congo; Uganda; Central African Republic I and II; Darfur, Sudan; Kenya; Libya; Côte d'Ivoire; and Mali.[1] The Office of the Prosecutor requested the authorization to open an investigation in the Georgia situation.[2] Additionally, the Office of the Prosecutor is conducting preliminary examinations in seven matters in Afghanistan, Colombia, Guinea, Iraq, Nigeria, Palestine and Ukraine.[3]
