Bala Sawant birth name Prakash Sawant was a two term member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly & a senior Shiv Sena leader .He had first won the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election, 2009 election from Bandra East constituency on a Shiv Sena ticket He passed away on 9 Jan 2015.[1][2][3] In 2014 he got into a controversy over slum redevelopment in his constituency where he was booked for assault. [4][5]

Personal Life

Bala Sawant was married to Trupti Sawant and they have a daughter. After his death his wife Trupti Sawant won the election from Bandra East constituency the seat he held and that was vacated after his death.[6][7] [8]
