Andrea Ronchi (born 3 August 1955) is an Italian politician, former Italian Minister of Community Policy.[1][2]
Biography
Andrea Ronchi was born in Perugia, Umbria.[2] He graduated in political science and worked as a journalist.[2] He was a founding member of the National Alliance party.[2]
In 2001, he joined the House of Representatives.[2] He was reelected in 2006 as a member of People of Freedom.[2] In 2005, he was appointed by Gianfranco Fini as National Spokesman for National Alliance.[2] He was the only minister member of Future and Freedom.
He served as Minister of Community Policy under Silvio Berlusconi from 2008 to 2010.[2]
Shortly after having been appointed as chairman of the National Assembly of the Future and Freedom party on February 13, 2010, Ronchi and other party leaders, like Adolfo Urso, criticized Gianfranco Fini for allegedly departing from centre-right values. He resigned on May 18 and left the party on July 9, upon Angelino Alfano's appointment as secretary of the People of Freedom party.
