Woronicze vs. Woronince (Voronyntsi)
Can someone please confirm my belief: that Woronicze in Poland is not the same place as Woronince (Voronyntsi), her estate in Podolia, Ukraine, where she and Liszt first got together and Liszt wrote Glanes de Woronince and some other works in 1847. -- Jack of Oz ... speak! ... 11:16, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- Woronińce now is called Voronivtsi and is here. Actually this is Vinnytsia Oblast, Khmilnytskyi Raion, Ukraine. It's absolutely exact; I checked it with Słownik Geograficzny Królestwa Polskiego (Geographical Dictionary of the Kingdom of Poland), where is described the area, Wittgensteins and distance to nearest towns. - Belatedly, thank you. -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 21:33, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
Vital dates
We need to get to the bottom of her vital dates.
- English, Finnish, Italian, Polish and Spanish all say: 8 February – 9 March,
- but French says: 8 February – 8 March, and
- German has: 7 February – 10 March. -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 21:33, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
- I will consult Alan Walker's monumental multi-volume biography of Liszt, which is also the definitive source on Princess Carolyne, and report back.
