BoBoiBoy is a Malaysian animated series produced by Animonsta Studios, centering on a boy who has superpowers and the ability to separate into three. With his friends, Ying, Hannah (Yaya in the Malay version), Gopal, and Fang, they fight to protect the earth from alien threats who aim to conquer the Earth in the hunt for cocoa beans.

The series is published in HDTV format and broadcasts on TV3 began on 13 March 2011, on Disney Channel Malaysia & Disney Channel Asia from 11 June 2011 and on NTV7 from 24 May 2014.

Production

BoBoiBoy is the first product of Animonsta Studios Sdn. Bhd. , an animation company established by Nizam Razak with three other partners (Safwan Abdul Karim, Anas Abdul Aziz and Kee Yong Pin). The four were originally employed by Les' Copaque Production Sdn.Bhd, a company first founded by Nizam and Safwan, and are famous for the animation series Upin & Ipin and film Geng: Pengembaraan Bermula, directed by Nizam. Animonsta operated in MAC3, Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) content developer incubation facility located in Cyberjaya and has since moved their studio at the Technopreneur Center in the middle of 2012.

The original concept of the story centres on a coffee-addict alien named Adu Du who has made his way to Earth. A minor change was made later, where instead of coffee, the alien is now in search of cocoa. The change, according to the BoBoiBoy Facebook fan page, was due to the fact that coffee is a bitter-tasting drink, and does not appeal to children.

The series was released simultaneously in two languages, Malay version and English version for the local international market, respectively. Both versions fully utilises the different voice actors. In the Malay version, the original voice actor for Upin & Ipin, Nur Fathiah Diaz, was invited to voice the main character, BoBoiBoy.

Season One (2011-2012) (12 episodes)

The first season of BoBoiBoy was aired on Sunday, 13 March 2011 at 7:00 pm. The episode starts when the main character, BoBoiBoy on a trip to his grandfather Tok Aba's home in Pulau Rintis for the school holidays. At the same time, Adu Du, an alien from planet of Ata Ta Tiga heads to Earth, to search for energy resources. He finds out that there is cocoa, a powerful energy source, which had extinct from his planet about 30,000 years ago. Adu Du wanted to conquer all the cocoa for himself, so that he could be a hero for his planet. To make sure his plan succeeded, he sought help from the Power Sphere (Ochobot) which he created. However, a series of mishaps occur and BoBoiBoy obtains Ochobot instead.Ochobot then gives some superpowers to BoBoiBoy and his new friends, Ying, Yaya and Gopal.

For the first season,there are 13 slots with every slot consisting of two episodes which last 11 minutes each. This make total of 26 episodes all together with each episode lasting for 11 minutes. Due to the cartoon's popularity, Animonsta Studios agreed to re-air the final episode with an "Extended Finale" on 1 January 2012.

Season Two (2012-2013) (13 episodes)

The second season of BoBoiBoy was aired on Sunday, 27 May 2012 at 7:00pm on TV3.In this season, BoBoiBoy begins a new chapter of his life as he moves to Pulau Rintis to unite with Tok Aba, Gopal, Ying and Yaya. The story in this season mainly centres on BoBoiBoy and his friends' life at Sekolah Rendah Pulau Rintis. BoBoiBoy also encpunters a new challenger, Fang at his new school.

Fang or Mystery Boy was first introduced in Season 1 on "Extended Finale" (Episode 26 with addition of a few minutes of scene on BoBoiBoy leaving Pulau Rintis).

Season Three (2014-2016) (26 episodes)

On 12 April 2013, Animonsta Studios channel in YouTube uploaded a sneak preview of the first episode of the third season featuring the battle between BoBoiBoy and Ejo Jo in his armour, thus confirming the third season to be in progress. On 12 July 2013, Animonsta Studios announced on their Facebook page that the third season of BoBoiBoy will be aired on 11 August 2013 with 13 new episodes making it the longest season to date. But then they postponed it and brought it to 5 January 2014. Season 3 started on 5 January 2014 and continuously aired 5 episodes for 5 weeks. On 23 March 2014, the Animonsta Studio's YouTube channel have announced that the new time slot airing on 6:00 pm from Sunday, 6 April 2014 to Sunday, 18 May 2014 due to the school test and Eid al-Fitr. Season 3 Episode 6 and so on were aired started on 4 December 2014 at new time slot, 5.35pm, Monday-Thursday at TV3 and aired started on 20 November 2014 at new time slot. This is also the first season that new episodes would be uploaded onto YouTube before its first airing on TV. It is also the first season to change the theme song, switching out "BoBoiBoy Superhero Kita" with "Jagalah Bumi" by Kotak.

BoBoiBoy Galaxy (2016)

BoBoiBoy Galaxy is a rebranding of BoBoiBoy. It will be aired in June 2016. BoBoiBoy Galaxy will focus more on an adventure-based storyline and will have a total of 104 episodes. BoBoiBoy Galaxy is set to be released after BoBoiBoy: The Movie on March or April 2016 in cinemas.

Later in Season 3, BoBoiBoy gained the ability to tap into two new elements, Fire and Water by simply transforming into the two new forms and later on in the series upgrades them to Blaze and Ice.

She likes baking cookies but her cookies taste horrible and anyone who eats them, including animals, faints, excluding Probe. She was granted the Gravity Manipulation Power Watch that allows to manipulate gravity within a 25-meter radius, but initially believed to be the ability to fly and have super strength.
Ying	Yap Ee Jean (Malay version) Chan Su Ling (Disney Channel, YouTube English version)	Initially a shy girl, Ying gains the Time Manipulation Power Watch which allows her to slow down or accelerate time of her surroundings within an area of 25 meter radius, but initially believed as the ability to run at high speeds. After perfecting her powers, she overcame her sneezing problem but her powers are now limited to a timer.
Gopal	Dzubir Mohammed Zakaria (Malay and Disney Channel English versions) Ryan Lee Bhaskaran (YouTube English version)	Gopal is BoBoiBoy's best friend and is always supportive to his friends, but he easily gets scared. He gains the Molecular Manipulation Power Watch which allows him to change an object into another by using his imagination, but initially believed to only change objects into food and reverse its order.
Adu Du	Anas Abdul Aziz (Malay, Disney Channel, YouTube English version)	Adu Du is a short tempered, bossy alien, and BoBoiBoy's nemesis. He was born into the lowest class within the Atata Tiga community who was frequently bullied before being driven out of his own planet. He came to Earth when finding out about cocoa on Earth. He attempts to conquer Earth to seize the planet's cocoa but was frequently stopped by BoBoiBoy. During Ejo Jo's attack, Probe was destroyed and Adu Du lured Ejo Jo into his base to avenge Probe. After successfully driving away Ejo Jo, Adu Du attempts to fix Probe but failed. He ended up trying to be good to gain money to buy an energy converter necessary to revive Probe which was then successful. When his mother, who was angered by Adu Du being good, gets hurt accidentally by BoBoiBoy, he turned evil once more.
Probe	Anas Abdul Aziz (Malay, Disney Channel, YouTube English version)	Probe is Adu Du's robot minion who carries out all of Adu Du's ground missions. He is actually a prototype version which explains his low intelligence resulting in frequent failures. He is very loyal to Adu Du but is often easily iIt's unknown where in the series this movie will take place. However, tmpressed by BoBoiBoy's cool superpower moves. He has a myriad of different weapons contained in his limbs. Whenever he gets the chance, Probe loves to argue with the spaceship Computer on ridiculous topics. Probe actually thinks he is a living being and does things like humming and sleeping. In Season 2, he was destroyed by Ejo Jo's battle robot to protect Adu Du. He was revived in Season 3 which came along with a new form called Mega Probe but with the occasional case of temporary memory loss, but was later fixed.
Adu Du's Computer	Yvonne Chong Shin Vun	Adu Du's computer assembled from several computer models with a female voice. Helps Adu Du in controlling the spaceship. When the spaceship was sold, the computer was not used often though. In Season 3, it has more roles and helps set up communications to Bago Go. In this season, the computer is shown to have personality despite appearing not as much as it used to.
Tok Aba	Anas Abdul Aziz (Malay, Disney Channel, YouTube English version)	Tok Aba is BoBoiBoy's grandfather who owns the Tok Aba's Kokotiam which sells chocolate drinks and food. His cocoa is revelled to be the most powerful cocoa ever found and he became involved in BoBoiBoy's battle against Adu Du, though at times he too proved to be useful. During Ejo Jo's attack, he temporarily wields the Time Manipulation Power Watch.
Ochobot	Muhammad Fathi Bin Diaz (Malay and Disney Channel English versions) Wong Wai Pang (YouTube English version)	The Generation 9 Power Sphere found by Adu Du that. Initially mistaking BoBoiBoy as its master, Ochobot grants BoBoiBoy his Elemental Power Watch before his friends and finally Fang were given one. Since Tok Aba was revealed to be the one who actually activates Ochobot (because the cocoa used was his) Ochobot became a helper at Tok Aba's Kokotiam. During the events of BoBoiBoy: The Movie, Ochobot gains an alternate look.
Multi-Monster (Season 1, Episode 3-4)	Anas Abdul Aziz	Originally a single, giant monster created to defeat BoBoiBoy, Multi-Monster has the ability to split into two every time he is defeated but gets smaller in the process. The Multi-Monsters then changed sides and helped BoBoiBoy and his friends escape. After that, they set up their own village at the toxic waste where they first fought BoBoiBoy.
Papa Zola	Nizam Razak (Malay and Disney Channel English versions) Anas Abdul Aziz (YouTube English version)	A fictional superhero who came to BoBoiBoy's world as a result of BoBoiBoy and Gopal getting out of the Papa Zola game. He helped the Power Band wielders battle against the Sleep Monster. After that, he ended up as a mathematics and physical educations teacher at Rintis Island Primary School.
Sleep Monster (Season 1, episode 7-8)	Anas Abdul Aziz (Malay and Disney Channel English versions) Azman Zukiply(YouTube English version)	Papa Zola's nemesis who can put his opponents into sleep with his attacks as well as an expert on checkers. Just like Papa Zola, he came out of the game but battled against BoBoiBoy and his friends and in the end, was put back to sleep permanently by BoBoiBoy after his defeat in his own dream world.
Fang (Season 2)	Wong Wai Kay (Malay, Disney Channel English version)	He moved to Rintis Island and went to the school on the island in hopes of becoming the most popular student. However, due to Gopal mentioning BoBoiBoy and praising him as being better (even though in truth, BoBoiBoy was not as much as Gopal claimed him to be), Fang became jealous and Adu Du took advantage of it to capture Ochobot and forcing the Power Sphere to grant him a Power Watch. However, Ochobot and Fang escaped, and Fang received his Power Watch in the process granting him ability to manipulate shadow via nano-magnetic technology. At the end of Season 2, Ochobot brought his Power Watch back at full power.
Ejo Jo (Season 2, Episode 1, 3, 10, 12-13; Season 3, Episode 1-2)	Noriman Saffian (Malay, Disney Channel English version)	Adu Du's former neighbour and classmate, as well as Adu Du's loyal bully. He was born into the second class family within the Ata Ta Tiga community and was an elite soldier in the army before he got kicked out due to arrogance. He was the one who caused Adu Du to be driven away from his own village and finally from Atata Tiga. After finding out about Adu Du's operations on Earth, he goes to Earth to combat against BoBoiBoy and his friends and take their Power Bands for himself.
Ejo Jo's Computer (Season 2, Episode 10, 12-13; Season 3, Episode 1-2)	Kee Yong Pin	Ejo Jo's computer with a male voice that is more advanced than Adu Du's Computer and can collect more accurate information.
PETAI (Ejo Jo's Robot)	none	With complete name Perisai Tempur Angkasa-I (Battle Space Robot-I), PETAI is a more advanced version of Probe, because it is the final product of the Battle Robot developed. In its first appearance, it destroyed Probe, then attacked Adu Du and the Power Band wielders. Later, it destroyed BoBoiBoy's school and kidnapped the students of 5 Jujur and Papa Zola but not BoBoiBoy, Fang and Ochobot. In the Season 2 Finale, it was destroyed by Fang's Shadow Dragon and its energy core taken by Adu Du to restore Probe.
Bago Go	Nizam Razak (Malay) Steven Tan (YouTube English Version)	A salesman from Atata Tiga who is part of his brothers' "Five Scammer Generals". As the name of the group suggests, he tricks others into buying things at unreasonably high prices while buying things from his customers at incredibly low prices. Unlike his brothers, though, Bago Go puts money ahead of his pride as a conman and is reluctant to destroy Adu Du when his brothers tell him to do so.
Three Rob	(Unknown)	A incompetent group of robbers composed of Rob, Robert and Roberto who usually rob items that are deemed useless usually (laundry, goalposts, etc.). Despite this, they always managed to escape prison (the first two times, however, were thanks to Adu Du).

Films

A film of the series entitled BoBoiBoy: The Movie is expected to be on cinemas on March/April 2016. Taking place after the events of Season 3, the movie brings BoBoiBoy and his friends on an adventure on a mysterious island that houses an ancient Power Sphere older than Ochobot with untold powers after Ochobot gets taken by a new group of enemies called the Tengkotak, led by Bora Ra who attempts to seek out said ancient Power Sphere called Klamka Bot.
