Tried to clean this up as much as I could taking cues from other articles. There's a lot more to be done, though. |

A rather lame and dated platformer featuring (what else?) |
|||
another one of those teenage sword-wielding Japanese |
|||
schoolgirls. I just wish the games were half as good as |
|||
the concept, which can be seen in the occasional anime- |
|||
style cinema. It's my understanding that a short-lived |
|||
anime series followed not long after the release of the |
|||
original games. |

Valis III is the third game in the Mugen Senshi Valis series. It was developed by Telenet Japan and originally released for PC Engine in 1990 in Japan. It was later released for the Sega Genesis in 1991 and TurboGrafx 16 in 1992. Yuko is once again the lead character, but this time she is also joined by her twin sister, Valna, and a young warrior named Cham.
Description
Somewhere in the Dark World, evil rears its ugly head once again...
A black-hearted man named Glames, possessor of a sword named Leethus, threatens the Human World, the Dream World, and the Dark World with complete and utter destruction. A young girl from the Dark World named Cham escapes from Glames, and seeks help to destroy him.
She comes to the Human World, searching for the Valis Warrior, Yuko Ahso, and more importantly, the Valis Sword.
Yuko must now help Cham defeat Glames before the three worlds are torn apart!
New improvements over the previous two Valis games include 3 playable characters, 3 unique weapons for each character, and greater, more powerful magic spells.
Trivia
- There is also a fourth installment in the series, M'aider Maiden, which was apparently not released for any Sega platform of the day.
- Only Valis I and Valis III made it to the Genesis. Valis II was only released on the PC Engine, and Valis IV was released on the PC Engine and SNES.
