How to fix disambiguation in Interstate Exit List
In the article Interstate 376, there are several links to 'Oakland (Pittsburgh)' - Oakland which are correct. But in the Exit Table, there is one more that is 'city1=Oakland'. city1 add the state and the result is Oakland, Pennsylvania which is a disambiguation page, not the correct target. how can this be fixed? minor display problem
The article Peter Gordon, which is a disambiguation page, has two sections. Like all such articles, there is a EDIT tab at the top of the page and an EDIT link on the second section. The problem is that the EDIT link in the SEE ALSO section is the wrong size, not properly spaced and missing brackets. I cannot work out how to fix up ref. 3 on this page. Also, I would like to post the ref number 9 - "wargs" - after ref number 3 as this ref. provides evidence for the point about Mayor Davis. - Done ref 9 is now ref 5. You just needed to apply the ref name "wargs etc." after the refs at the point you mentioned, it now becomes the first instance of that ref. so the No. is lower. Eagleash (talk) 04:40, 1 March 2016 (UTC)

- Yes it's a template designed to show that a citation is needed for a larger amount of text (template:refnec). It's not in common use and I think that the more usual "citation needed" tag would be sufficient really. Eagleash (talk) 06:04, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
Selective reversions
A well-intended, but misguided user spent hours doing changes based on a wrong understanding. (See User talk:Cynulliad#Alphabetical order.) Since they is a well-meaning editor, those edits are interspersed with helpful edits. Is there a way to selectively only revert the bad ones? (I am an administrator, but I didn't see any tool for that at Wikipedia:Administrators/Tools#Reverting.) — Sebastian 10:13, 1 March 2016 (UTC)

Archive bot issue
The Ashoka talk page currently has two archives titled 1. One of these appears to have been created manually while the other appears to have been created by ClueBot III. What's the best way to fix this? Other bots have an option to leave at least the last X threads on the talk page unarchived. Does Cluebot have an option for this? changes to the main page?
How do you make changes to the main page itself?
Currently (01/03/16) one of the DYK says "...that Xu You foiled Li Congshan's attempt to seize the crown from his older brother by tattling on him to the crown prince himself?" - I was going to change "tattling" to "informing", as a better term - but can't see how I can do so? Page creation request
Hi,
I'm hoping you can help.
I'm a PR practitioner and I've recently been asked by one of the CEOs I work with to create a Wikipedia page about himself. I was already aware of Wikipedia's guidelines when it comes to creating/editing content about yourself/your brand/your client, but even more so after doing some further readings.
Let me start by saying that the last thing I'd want to do is cause offence and fall foul of your guidelines, which I do intend to respect. I've made my client aware of this and his intentions are, believe it or not, noble. Our objective is to create an educational entry about a leading business figure, similar to the ones existing about Lord Sugar or Richard Branson, not to promote the business he's at the helm of.
As such, I've drafted the copy and before uploading it, I'd be really grateful for the opportunity to have it reviewed by one/some of your volunteer editors, to make sure it ticks your boxes: reliable sources, original content, no controversiality etc. What is the best way to do this?

- Hello, you have attempted to cite a reference without actually inserting a reference elsewhere in the text. Using a reference name is used when it is necessary to cite the same source in an article. E.g. <ref name="ReferenceA"> then the reference (using an appropriate template). With closing tag</ref>. In subsequent instances when using the same ref. you would then only need to write <ref name="ReferenceA"/>. Note the closing "/". For further help see WP:REFB to get started and WP:CITET for a list of referencing templates.
- I have fixed the ref. on a limited basis so that it does not produce a ref error. It might need more fields to be filled in (see templates as noted above). I would suggest that the draft needs considerably more independent third-party sources/ references, to demonstrate notability, if it is to be accepted at review. It also seems pertinent to ask whether you have a connection to the organisation concerned, e.g. as an employee or similar? Eagleash (talk) 13:28, 1 March 2016 (UTC)

Neutrality issue
I placed this message on Wikipedia:Village pump (miscellaneous): Hello everyone, I have no idea on how to deal with it, but the article Waldorf education poses a severe issue of neutrality, particularly with the section Reception, where you would expect some hindsight if any is needed, and which is a laudatory. I can see no trace on criticism of these schools, there is absolutely no mention of sectarism. A nice job has been done by POV-pushers so far. Please take care of it, I can deal with French-speakers, but I can't do much here. There is an overall problem with anthroposophy, with well-coordinated "cleaners". - True. But there is nothing actually being disputed at this time (viz. the total absence of any discussion of any kind on the talk page). Information was lost during a merge of two sections covering the same theme and was promptly restored again. There was no disagreement at any point, only some ugly and unnecessary finger pointing. rendering failed with a non zero code 1
occaisionally when i download a page as a pdf it fails. i get a "rendering failed with a non zero code 1" message. i have tried to download the same page from various other devices without success, therefore it seems to be a fault on the wiki site. rarely, i have been able to download the page weeks later. the pages i cannot download as a pdf are:

The Final Project wikipedia page

Hi, I am very disturbed at a user that is continuously editing the final project page to portray the film in a bias light. While the film has received mostly negative reviews it wasn't all bad reviews. The user is purposely twisting the information and deleting information that highly the positive aspects of the films only leaving the negative. This isn't what wikipedia is supposedly about. This is supposed to be place that the public can see historical information in an unbiased format. He is also misquoting a review adding a negative comment to the pull quote that the author never says anywhere in her article. This is a misrepresentation of the facts. Please either accurately portray the information that is public or delete the page from your site as it is not being told in a credible way. Thanks!

- I'm presuming you need this for testing. So: Edit the appropriate revision of the template, and under "Preview page with this template", enter the name of an article that uses it. Then press the "Show preview" button to the right of that text field. — Sebastian 06:16, 2 March 2016 (UTC)

Add picture to existing article
I own an original photograph of an individual who has an existing Wikipedia article. I did not take the photo myself and don't know who did. It's from the 1950's I would guess. - You probably can't. In order to add that photograph, you need to be ascertained of its copyright status: that it has either been released under a free license by the photographer or that its copyrights have expired. I know there is a way to do this, but I can't seem to be able to find it. How do you get rid of the little arrow that appears next to external links? - A good place to start would be reading the links that template gives, namely: Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view and Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Biographies. Of this, Neutral point of view is probably most pertinent here: the purpose of an encyclopedic article is not to list all achievements of the subject. - Thanks. No, I really have nothing specific in mind. I guess I am just "exploring" what's possible with Tables and educating myself. I know that column widths can be "set" or fixed/adjusted. And I didn't know if that was also possible with row heights. So, I decided to post and ask that question. So, while I am here: is there a good "tutorial" to learn more about these tables and charts? I know Wikipedia has some "help" page. But, it's very confusing and hard to understand. It's not user friendly. Editing images and article titles for iOS app

- Revivlfodlaku, from my iOS editing experiences, I don't believe you are able to edit pictures and titles, at least not on the app. If you use Safari, it is possible to edit those things if you change to desktop mode. This may be possible on the app as well. Go to the very bottom of the screen. In the middle there is a small link that says desktop mode. This is hard to navigate, but I believe it is the only way. Thanks for the response, Fritzmann2002. I tried going to the bottom of the screen on the Wikipedia iOS app, but didn't see the desktop mode option. If you use the iOS app, maybe you can take a look at what I'm referring to, there may be another way to fix it. For example, the article for Mike Tompkins (musician) has "American politician" as the subtitle in the search results. Mike Tompkins is neither American (he is Canadian), nor a politician (he's a musician). What you could do is have a contact that you provide with information of what needs to be changed. I wish I could give you a better answer, but honestly the mobile app just wasn't built for editing. Creating an account if IP is blocked

Font TOO SMALL
Hi, I use Win 10 and Google Chrome. When I open Wikipedia, the font is microscopic. No other web pages appear like this. Also, I tried IE, and got the same tiny font. This happens for all the different pages I tried in Wikipedia. Jabaty (talk) 19:21, 2 March 2016 (UTC) An 8 is the smallest font in MS Word, this is at least half again as small. Am I doing something wrong? I can't find a settings icon for Wikipedia. Any help would be appreciated!
- The usual problem is that you have accidentally held control whilst either rolling your mouse wheel, or pressing - (minus) Try pressing control and 0 (zero) (although sometimes that only works with the zero above the QWERTY keys not the zero on the numberpad). - Hello, it seems that the article was not deleted per se, but was converted to a re-direct to the main Donald Trump campaign article. This would likely have been on the basis that the topic did not warrant a page of its own and that the subject matter was adequately covered in the already existing article. Having seen the article as submitted I would agree with that assessment. The page was also rather lacking when it comes to Wikipedia's Manual of style and did not cite any references; see WP:RS, WP:REFB and WP:CITET. It might also be argued that it did not comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy (WP:NPOV). Eagleash (talk) 22:23, 2 March 2016 (UTC)

- Hello, unfortunately you seem to have misunderstood the way in which Wikipedia works. It does not exist for persons, however notable they may be, to write an autobiography. Wikipedia articles are created by editors without close connection to the subject and from information obtained from reliable independent sources, as it is an encyclopedia not a directory or guide. Subjects of BLPs (Biographies of living persons) must have had significant coverage in third party sources for them to pass Wiki's fairly stringent rules on notability. Regret to say that as it stands, the page will almost certainly be deleted and it should not be continued with by you in any event. Sorry not to be able to offer more encouragement. - Just to be clear, the sentence you added to the article, although well-intentioned, was in entirely the wrong place and would thus have been identified as unconstructive by ClueBot which is an automatic program that constantly patrols Wikipedia for problems of this nature. The place to raise issues with article content is on the talk-page or you can come to the help-desk for assistance. Correction, I made no disparaging remarks concerning any editor, I made a comment regarding the ' response ' I received. That I felt was very robotic in itself, rather than a typical response I would expect from a human. However, it doesn't surprise me that your BOT can't tell the difference between a helpful post and vandalism, when you can't differentiate between a criticism of a reply and the criticism of a person. As for ' proper posting ' you must think that your navigation is wonderful, it isn't, it took me several minutes to find this page, as I couldn't find anything remotely suitable on your ' contact ' page. A typical response from a human would go like this : " Hello, thank you for assisting with correcting that article, we appreciate your support, and we apologize that the BOT mistook your edit as vandalism, when clearly you were trying to assist, we look forward to your continuing support. We realize that not everyone is familiar with Wikipedia can we suggest that in the future you ( insert recommendations here ) ". Try that next time and maybe your replies wont sound so sub-human. My complaint was not concerning the BOT removing my addition, I fully expected it to be removed, and not linger as a permanent fixture; rather, just long enough so that the article could be corrected. My complaint was concerning my addition as being tagged as vandalism, when clearly it wasn't. Not everyone can navigate Wikipedia as well as someone who uses it often. I saw a mistake and attempted to get it corrected. And I was successful in that attempt, albeit not through the proper channels. As for disparaging , I quote " Please do not make disparaging remarks about other editors as this is something which Wikipedia takes very seriously. disambiguation in infobox
In Monroe County, Indiana, there is an Law Enforcement Agency infobox in the government section that has a field subdivname = Monroe. This results in a wikilink to Monroe, Indiana which is a disambiguation page as there are several places named Monroe in Indiana. This should refer to Monroe County, Indiana. The text in the infobox displays County of xxxx; changing Monroe to Monroe County would resolve the disambiguation but would display as "County of Monroe County". And this would be a circular link (Monroe County to Monroe County). So I think this should be displayed as "County of Monroe" where Monroe is not a blue link at all. - I don't see any link-override feature in the documentation for {{Infobox law enforcement agency}}, but I could have overlooked it. The issue is that the infobox isn't supposed to be used in articles about counties, cities, etc.; it's supposed to be used in articles about the law enforcement agencies themselves. Better just to remove the template, both because of this problem and because of the more general problem that bots may well interpret the infobox as an indication that the entire article is about a law enforcement agency. Wileyfox corrections
Hi there. Full disclosure I represent the company in a PR capacity.
How do we clean up the Wileyfox page as there are a number of inaccuracies and uncited comments criticising the performance of the Swift product and no mention of the Storm. Launch dates are in the wrong tense, present and future when in fact they are now past tense.
But key issues are namely:
Wileyfox at present does not offer replacement batteries
″The GPS and GLONASS reception is very poor″ - no citation seems like personal opinion
″Because the metal ring holding the rear camera lense has sharp edges...easily leaves scratch marks″ - no citation or proof point
It's been cited as a 'an absolute steal of a smartphone' by leading tech title Stuff[1] and Forbes 'Smartphone of 2015' [2] but these accolades are not mentioned or referenced.
We are happy to edit if you will allow it purely for accuracy purposes.

- Dwcc888, thank you for approaching this in a good manner. Your best choice is to bring this up at the article's talk page. I'll help with these problems now. (1) Fixed the verb tenses. (2) I don't understand what you'd like to see regarding the batteries. Please give additional details at the talk page. (3) I've removed the GPS/GLONASS bit. This kind of information is important to include if reliable sources, e.g. technology writers addressing cellphones, consider it important (we're an encyclopedia, not a promotional website), but as I didn't find any such sources with a quick Google search, I've removed it. (4) Ditto on the metal ring. (5) Steal of a smartphone — these awards appear to be merely the opinions of a few technical folks at those websites, not major industry awards. - The current name of the nation in question now is Islamic State of Iraq and Levant. This is backed by many sources and it would not be correct to change it. Wrong work of text editor in image
In my sandbox in image with diagram of the gameplay is wrong work of hashs. I can't used hash to mark of parts by following numbers. BTW, is here someone who can check my English in this sandbox? - I'm not sure what you mean. Are you trying to make a list using hash marks? By hash marks to you mean this : #? The image shouldn't need hash marks, so why did you mention that? How does one enter the geographical coordinates (latitude and longitude) for an article about a location?
How does one enter the geographical coordinates (latitude and longitude) for an article about a location? And (most importantly as far as I'm concerned) how do you get the coordinates to appear in the top, right of the article?
For example, I was just reading the article about the Italian town of Quaglietta. At the very top, right of this article it has the latitude and longitude, appearing as: Coordinates: 40°44′43″N 15°14′8″E.
When you click on these coordinates, it brings you to a GeoHack webpage, which gives you a variety of options to view this location on a map.
If I am editing an article about a location, which article does NOT have this geographical information in it, and I want to add the geographical coordinates for this location, how do I do it? How do I get the coordinates to appear in the very top, right of the article? And how do I get these coordinates to appear as a link for the GeoHack webpage?
By the way, Quaglietta is where Spartacus is believed to have lost his life in 71 BC after leading an unsuccessful slave rebellion against the Roman Republic. The article Battle of the Siler River describes his last days, but the article does not give the geographical coordinates for the location of this event. - Unless you can find a reputable publication that gives an accurate map, it is going to be difficult to determine the exact position of the battle. If you can identify the location on Google Earth, then that software will give you the co-ordinates, but, without a good reference, this might be regarded as original research. Perhaps the safest option is just to link to our article on nearby Quaglietta. Dbfirs 21:08, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
In terms of the question on coordinates, it is the template Template:Coord that produces them. There is a lot of information on that page about using the template. For Quaglietta, I believe it is actually the specific infobox used on the page, Template:Infobox frazione that produces the coordinates. - @Fnw76: The "filter log" link at Special:Contributions/Fnw76 shows you have tried to save articles [1] but they were never actually saved for some reason. I'm not sure the filter is working correctly but try Wikipedia:Articles for creation instead. "Mobile Associate Communication Platform" has zero Google hits. Help -- I am new to Wikipedia, so I figured there may be some formatting issues. Below is the reason given for the rejection. I am unclear on what it means to set off the headings with nowiki. In addition, in the references there is a formatting concern because the journal listing is for November-December 1993. I think there is an issue with the two months, but I could not find anything in any of the editing tips on how to list a date like that. Can you help?

- @Joseph A. Spadaro: WP:TWINKLE is a user script that makes pretty much every maintenance task so much easier. You can turn it on from your preferences. Preferences -> Gadgets -> Twinkle (under Browsing). Once turned on it will add a TW tab on the toolbar at the top to every article. Under there will be a button that says XFD. That button will cause a popup where you can fill out your deletion reasoning and category for the AfD. When you click Submit Query the script will create all the pages for you, tag the article with a deletion notice, and tranclude the discussion to the main AfD page. Basically, I would not do anything complicated if it wasn't for Twinkle. You can do everything from AfD an article, to request protection, to speedy tag an article with one of the CSD criteria.
