Andrew Scarborough
Scarborough is probably best known for his starring Role as Tim Drew[1] in Julian Fellowes world wide hit and then continual multi BAFTA and EMMY award winning Downton Abbey and his Lead starring role as the Character Michael Owen in the BBC's hit comedy drama Hearts and Bones. He has also had an extensive Theater career including the West end Theater[2], Londons Fringe theater[3] and many roles in the English provincial scene.[4]
Andrew was born in Harrogate, North Yorkshire,England.[5] He studied and trained at one of the top classical drama schools in the UK, the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic art in London, from 1990 - 1992.
Career
Scarborough's career saw him cutting his teeth on stage and on screen. He made his professional debut on stage at the Harrogate theatre in three plays beginning with The Government Inspector as Dobchinsky then A Midsummer Nights Dream as Oberon and lastly as the Genie of the Lamp in the very British 'panto' version of Aladdin. He then went on to play Heathcliff in Emily Bronte's wuthering Heights and from there played Renaldo[6] in the 1995 London Almeida theatre production of Hamlet starring Ralph Fiennes.
He made his Television debut on the BBC'S popular medical drama Casualty. He then went on to play roles in many TV dramas like, The Bill (ITV),Streets Of Gold (S4C),Heartbeat (ITV) and Silent Witness (BBC1).
Andrew's film debut was in a Hallmark production of Jason and the Argonauts.
Andrew then went on to Starring roles as Kevin Spiers in ITV's Bad Girls, Stewart Diamond in Channel 5's Suburban Shootout, Mark in a TV/film for ITV in The Innocent, Michael Owen in The BBC's comedy drama Hearts and Bones,Magistrate Bassat in Jamaica Inn (BBC1) and Tim Drew in Downton abbey.
