Elena Sharoykina is an environmentalist, social communications and corporate consulting expert from Russia.
Career
Elena started professional career in Ukraine as a parliamentary correspondent and an author of several TV-programs on urgent political and social problems. In 2003 she established in Moscow the Production Ru Communication Group * [1] company, which has since been specialized on providing marketing, political and social communication services. United Russia party, the government of {{Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – UGRA, Financial corporation URALSIB, “Rosenergomash”, “Russian Association of Motor Insurers”, Russian Football Union, Media Holding “New Media Stars” (business newspaper “Vzglyad”, online newspaper “Dni.ru”, Internet TV channel “Russia.ru”) and others were among clients of the company. In 2006 “White Wing” prize was awarded to Production Ru Communication Group in “Best PR-project in the nonprofit sphere” nomination for the achievements of Kirsan Ilyumzhinov re-election campaign for the President of World Chess Federation.
Public/political activity
To promote the corporate social responsibility of businesses Elena Sharoykina is engaged in many charitable, educational, sports and other socially-oriented initiatives. During implementation of one of the social project in 2004, Elena together with a group of Russian scientists established a nonprofit organization - National Association for Genetic Safety (NAGS). She became director of the Association, and geneticist Alexander Baranov (PhD in Biological Sciences) was elected as the President of NAGS. NAGS activities are aimed to contribute to the protection of biological and genetic safety of humankind and environment, as well as to promote the ideas of “sustainable development”.
By 2008 Elena and NAGS experts had completed the long-term work devoted to the creation of a voluntary certification system “Biologically safe” registered in the Rosstandart in order to guarantee food quality. NAGS is also conducting independent food and commodity markets monitoring, protecting interests of Russian consumers. The Association has won several resonant legal cases against transnational companies such as Nestle and Campina in the Federal Antimonopoly Service and Russian courts.
In July 2013 Elena Sharoykina became an organizer and ideologist of the first Russian electric cars eco-rally. It was held in Moscow with the participation of well-known Russian politicians, journalists, artists and entrepreneurs. The campaign became an integral part of the ecological initiative “Emerald Planet”, which aims to the popularization of the rational use of natural resources, recycling, sustainable development and implementation of “green technologies” ideas.
In 2014 Elena Sharoykina announced the launch of the “Factor GMO” [1] international project. “Factor GMO” is the world's largest and most comprehensive study on GMOs and its associated pesticides safety[2] * [2] . Elena is an initiator of the project and the main coordinator of scientists from around the world, who joined the "Factor GMO" for conducting the experiment.
As an expert Elena participates in working groups on environmental and food safety issues in the State Duma, Russian ministries and agencies on regular basis. She takes part in news and analytical programs on federal TV channels, and reads lectures on ecology and food safety on many public premises (Central House of artists, Red October etc.). She is a regular speaker on environmental forums, conferences and other events both in Russia and abroad.
Elena is a convinced supporter of “sustainable development”, alter-globalization and social responsibility of the states and transnational companies towards present and future generations. She is a prototype of one of the main characters of fantastic eco–bestseller written by Sergey Tarmashev – “Heritage” and “Heritage II”, which was published in 2010 and 2012. The author describes events leading the planet to the enormous genetic catastrophe caused by uncontrolled spread of GMOs. And the main characters struggle with a corrupt world government for the sake of humanity survival.
Hobby
Elena takes interest in the history of arts, psychology, comparative religion studies. She also produces documentaries in spare time.
