On 8 March 2016, a 21-year-old West Bank Palestinian man from the Qalqilya refugee camp killed an American tourist, and United States Army Veteran, Taylor Force and wounded ten other people in a stabbing spree in Jaffa Port, Tel Aviv, Israel.[1][2][3] The attacker was shot dead by the police after a chase along the beach promenade.[3]
Timeline
The attack happened while US Vice President Joe Biden met with Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres in Tel Aviv.[4] According to the police the assailant first attacked persons in the harbor and later went to a restaurant where four more persons were wounded. According to ambulance personel, five of the victims are seriously wounded.[4] The attack lasted approximately 20 minutes.[3]

At the time of the attack Force was traveling with other students from Vanderbilt University studying global entrepreneurship.[8]
Reactions
Palestinian Islamic fundamentalist organization Hamas said that they welcomed the attack as "one of a string of attacks" occurring within hours in Petah Tikva and Jerusalem. Three people were wounded in those two attacks.[2]
