Hi AWhiteC, it's B-dog12.0 responding to your message about the demographics of India. I wanted to let you know that I got the population info from www.worldometers.info. Please check it out if you don't think it's a reliable source, but I do so I'm going to change the information back. Just leave me a message on my talk page if you have any questions. Thank you! Hello Alan, welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. You can learn more on the how to edit page. The naming conventions and manual of style pages are also useful. Feel free to experiment at the Wikipedia:Sandbox. If you have any questions about the project then check out Wikipedia:Help or add a question to the Village pump. Angela

Ancient American cultures

Hi Alan. I noticed your queries on Talk:Ancient American cultures, and have attempted some responses which you will find there. Hope that helps.
(incidentally, you might like to consider disguising, spoofing or removing altogether your email addr on your User page- Spam-bots can scan and pick it up & before too long you'll be fending off a bunch of spurious emails. If you've put your email addr in your Preferences and checked "Enable email from other users", then others can contact you via email by using the "e-mail this user" option (normally appears in the toolbox to the left), without having to divulge what your email address actually is. However, the most frequent means of communication is via Talk pages.)
Happy editing, and regards--cjllw | TALK 01:11, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that, cjllw. AWhiteC 23:20, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Seaton Delaval Hall

Pleas go aright ahead (ASAP) and replace the existing images - anything would be better than those, they were the best I could find in the public domain. When you have done so, I will put the most suitable in John Vanbrugh which too is suffering from lack of a decent picture. Thanks - Great news! Giano | talk 12:40, 21 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the message. Great fotos. I have upoaded one to John Vanbrugh too. Regards Giano | talk 14:39, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your VandalProof Application

Dear AWhiteC,

Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact with the new 1.2 version release it has even more power. As such we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that for security reasons, VandalProof's creator requires it's users to have made 250 edits to articles, which you have not. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof.

Ralph Henry Carless Davis

Hi. I'm following standard encyclopedia conventions. The first occurrence of a name in a biographical entry is only prefaced by honorific titles like 'Sir', 'Saint' or 'Reverend'. 'Professor' is not one of these titles. Sir Paul 01:40, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Comments

Hello. You left comments on my talk page saying "why have you signed Johnathen Israel to the above".

  1. Who is Johnathen Israel?
  2. What have I assigned him to?

I would appreciate it if you could answer these. Thanks! Tellyaddict 16:52, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not speak in that format, if you had read the messages left above by me I asked you to tell me what you were talkimng about, I had to figure it out for myself, please do not ask me in such a tone as if I was ignoring your messages on my talk page, if you look at the article you will see a category at the bottom about people who have been to/passed from Newcastle Upon Tyne University, therefore it falls within the scope of WikiProject North East England. Kind regards - Tellyaddict 09:26, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

South Africa

The vandalism to South Africa has been fixed. What other articles were you referring to? KnightLago (talk) 18:42, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, I understand what you were saying. It was a case of template vandalism. KnightLago (talk) 18:45, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello AWhiteC! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Oliver Shepard - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

History of Tuscany

Ciao! I removed them since they were a bit off context... Wikipedia in general discourages lists. I the they should have been mentioned inside in the text, but since there are sub-articles with more detail why to keep them? And I think they are also listed same-same in the Grand Duchy of Tuscany article itself. Ciao and let me know!! --'''Attilios''' (talk) 18:56, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

List are usuall discouraged in prose chapters, as they make them ugly... Ciao and good work! --'''Attilios''' (talk) 10:05, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I also undid revision by 122.173.118.194. These major POV and unreferenced changes are not acceptable. 174.117.182.54 (talk) 14:39, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Favour Requested

Not sure how this works, but this is Bizzle26 speaking. I'm new to Wikipedia and could use your assistance with something. Can you please put this picture http://www.legendsofhockey.net/LegendsOfHockey/gallery/000080/001000423.jpg as the person's picture for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Igor_Korolev ? I tried to do it several times and failed. Thanks bro — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bizzle26 (talkcontribs) 01:02, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just thought I should notify you that I've responded to your comment at Talk:38 Degrees (I edited a different section on the page immediately after, so thought it worth notifying you here, in case you miss the first edit summary). NotFromUtrecht (talk) 19:13, 29 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Systemic risk of hedge funds

Hey, AWhiteC,

Bryant Park Fifth and I have been working on a conflict that was originally between you and him, about the systemic risk of hedge funds here. Since you haven't gvien any input, it occurs to me that you might not have the page watchlisted, so I just wanted to give you a heads up in case you have any comments. We're pretty much satisfied with what we've come up with (although we haven't put it in the article yet), but I just wanted to hear your opinion on it. Thanks! Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Thomas Harrison Hair, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Age of Steam (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Huh?

I don't see the problem in question when I re-do the edit. What are you seeing?

And why are there two sets of coords in this article anyway?

Maury Markowitz (talk) 13:26, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Maury Markowitz: Re Hinkley Point C nuclear power station, I think somebody has been messing about with the template (Inbox power station). I was seeing this in the Inbox in your version (that I reverted): "Coordinates 51.209°N 3.127°W" followed by some markup terminating in a "}}". My revert seemed to fix it but that might have been a coincidence. I see no problem now. Apologies. AWhiteC (talk) 14:07, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. When I type "Template: Infobox" I get a screen with the right content but no toolbar(s) or sidebar. Funny goings on!
Certainly no apologies required! I was very simply curious (thus the "huh"). Is it all working OK now? Maury Markowitz (talk) 14:09, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Maury Markowitz: AOK. (But why don't you try typing "Template:Infobox" into the search box, and see if you get what I get.) AWhiteC (talk) 14:13, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Maury Markowitz: Hi. I may be having browser problems here (new Mac OS X Yosemite, with new version of Safari browser). So maybe ignore the above. AWhiteC (talk) 14:31, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
