Hunter Cervenka (born January 3, 1990) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Career

Cervenka was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 27th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft out of Ross S. Sterling High School in Baytown, Texas.[1] In May 2012, he was acquired by the Chicago Cubs as the player to be named later in the Marlon Byrd trade.[2] Chicago released Cervenka in June 2015,[3] and he signed with the Sugar Land Skeeters of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball later that month.[4] After a month with Sugar Land, Cervenka signed with the Atlanta Braves in July 2015.[5]

Cervenka was invited to spring training in 2016, but started the season with the Double A Mississippi Braves.[6] He was called up to the majors for the first time on April 11, 2016.[7]
