The inhabitants of the village are [[Dards]], Indo-Aryan people believed to have originally migrated to Tirich from Central Asia. The ethnic groups represented include [[Khowar people|Khowari]], [[Burusho people|Burusho]], [[Khoshey people|Khoshey]], [[Tajiki language|Tajiki]], [[Shina language|Shina]], [[Wakhi people|Wakhi]] and a small number of [[Persian people|Persians]].
