There are some categories that are used only for categories, and never for articles. Some of these categories have been made into 'hidden' categories, and yet they are never in fact 'hidden' since the hidden feature only applies to articles and not categories. So the hidden category always displays on the category screen as 'hidden'--which is obviously a contradiction. I suggest, that category categories not be classified as hidden. When I have tried to remove the hidden classification in such cases, someone always just adds it back in. Without something said in this categorization guideline I have nothing much justify my removal.

I'm sorry that you're still having this frustrating problem. BJorsch named above the three different places where this problem may be caused: 1.your own computer,
2.the WMF's servers, or
3.a server in between you and the WMF's servers.

Each user is necessarily responsible for cacheing problems that appear in his own browser. Please follow all the steps at [[WP:BYPASS]] and let us know if that (hopefully!) solves the problem for you. If the problem is the WMF's caches, then it will likely be fixed relatively soon. If the problem is at a third-party server in between you and the WMF (e.g., on your corporate or university network or your local ISP), then I'm afraid that there is often nothing that either you or we are able to do about it except wait for the third-party server to update its cache. Can AWB create mass categories? E.g. i need to create categories from ”Football clubs established in 1900” to ”Football clubs established in 2020”. Each category must have 2 categories- parents, one stable ”Football clubs establishements by year” and second incrementable ”Establishements in <nowiki>{{year}}</nowiki>", where <nowiki>{{year}}</nowiki> has value from 1900 to 2020, for each new category incrementation +1. Thewildone85 has added the parent category "Unincorporated communities in New Jersey" to many New Jersey articles; another editor claims they are "unneeded and inappropriate" and plans to delete them. I'm up to my ears [[Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says User:Magnolia677|here]] with this editor, so don't want to get in deeper. I actually support the addition of this category though. When I made hundreds of edits to Mississippi articles last year, it was a huge help having each town listed in the parent category. It really is the only way to have a complete list. Otherwise, you need to search through each county. I know this is your area of expertise, so any help would be appreciated. What, exactly, is breaking? The "default continuation mode" for action=query requests to api.php will be changing to be easier for new coders to use correctly. To find out whether your script or bot may be affected, then search the source code (including any frameworks or libraries) for the string "query-continue". If that is not present, then the script or bot is ''not'' affected. In a few cases, the code will be present but not used. In that case, the script or bot will continue working.

This change will be part of 1.26wmf12. It will be deployed to test wikis (including mediawiki.org) on 30 June, to non-Wikipedias (such as Wiktionary) on 1 July, and to all Wikipedias on 2 July 2015.

If your bot or script is receiving the warning about this upcoming change (as seen at https://www.mediawiki.org/enwiki/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages ), it's time to fix your code!

* The simple solution is to simply include the "rawcontinue" parameter with your request to continue receiving the raw continuation data (example <https://www.mediawiki.org/enwiki/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages&rawcontinue=1>). No other code changes should be necessary.

I notice that you've been placing articles on NRHP sites in categories like "NRHP in $COUNTY, $STATE". In at least a couple of cases on my watchlist—[[Meades Ranch Triangulation Station]] and [[Davis Memorial]]—you didn't remove the parent category, "NRHP in Kansas". *HRHP has two different category structures at the state level. One by county (which I adding where they are missing) and one by type of historic place: houses, buildings, etc. I do not remove HRHP articles at the state level unless they are already in such a type category. You may want add missing 'type' categories, but not just remove the articles. Keeping them at the state level is an ongoing reminder that the 'type' categorization is missing. I've never used AWB, so I don't know how much of an actual problem this is; if you just made a typo, no problem.

Is this a problem that needs fixing, or is it merely a negligible typo, as it would be if you'd made it when editing manually? *Thanks for the note. I use AWB in a rather simple way. In AWB, I create a list of strings: from-string to-string so that any time the 'from-string' is found, it gets changed to the 'to string'. Because of the infinite variation in how the articles are written, I then may have to add more from/to pairs to clean up the results to help the semi-automated results and reduce the manual corrections/fixes I have to make. In all cases, the results are then presented to me to read, which I can save as-is or perform further, manual, edits before saving or just cancelling the edit completely. AWB results do not distinguish what the table changed versus what I changed manually. And of course, as with any human effort, human errors can be introduced at any point. I see that this ended up somehow with an extra/out-of-place pipe character as you saw. I see you correctly removed it. Do you have other questions about the links I used? Any other questions about AWB? I will try to explain as best I can based on what I am doing. AWB itself seems to be rather error free.
