The USS Grand Canyon was a US Navy Shenandoah Class destroyer tender, built in 1945. The ship was 492 feet (approx 150 metres) long and travelled at a speed of 18 knots. The ship was first launched on 27 April 1945 and was used mainly for peaceful operations for over 20 years.
