My user page vandalism

I, like so many others, am grateful to you for your speedy response to the vandalism of my user page. Thank you for keeping a keen watchout. —Bkell 02:47, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

request for unblock

198.170.183.237 is one of my "sock puppet" ip addresses. i am constantly annoyed when i try to edit *constructively* at school and find it blocked. although school gets out on thursday, i still see this as important to address. Andrewb1 16:48, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This IP address was blocked because it is responsible for a lot of vandalism, especially during the past few weeks. Not all of your schoolmates seem to be as constructive as you in their edits. Could you please have your school's system administrator contact me via e-mail? Then we will try to find a solution for this situation. RexNL 17:00, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Autoblock

While trying to edit yesterday, I noticed that I had been blocked because my IP address had been recently used by User:Unknown34. It annoyed me that I was blocked too. Is there any way you can prevent this from happening again? --RabidMonkeysEatGrass 19:47, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, the autoblocks are set by the MediaWiki software, not by the administrators. All I can do is undo the blocks that have been set. I have done that in the case of User:Unknown34. RexNL 20:34, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

deletion of "pieism"

hi, I'm one of the contributors to the pieism entry. The "religion" has multiple websites dedicated to it. A search on google will turn up many circulations of www.pieism.tk.

Granted the context is humor. But it is listed under humorous religions. Does it not have the same merit as others in its category because it is unoticed compared to Flying Spaghetti Monster and those listed under humorous religions? Did you know there is a religion based around duct tape? Does that not deserve a place in this knowledge compendium as well?

Anyway, cheers!

Please share your thoughts on the matter at this article's entry on the Articles for deletion page. Thank you. RexNL 22:42, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Minor vandal

Hi! This user seems to be a bit bored: Special:Contributions/216.124.72.2. I've just put a warning up on User_talk:216.124.72.2 but he's already been blocked before, so I wondered if the usual procedure was to go through four warnings again. His Bungee edits are duff, but the preceding ones look a bit suspect too. And there's a note about the IP being shared on the top of the talk page. Stephen B Streater 15:55, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for the message, but unfortunately I was not online at the time of the vandalism. Next time, please go here to report vandalism. Thanks again, RexNL 17:29, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stealing your page.

Hi, Rex. I like your user page so much, that I've stolen it, with some modifications. I don't have a lot of technical knowledge, so I wasn't really able to make adaptations other than leaving the original page colour (which another editor had done for me), leaving a notice for starting a new message on my talk page, and changing a few names of links. What I would like would be to have one more link, looking like the others, but at the bottom centre; it would link to [[User:Musical Linguist/quotations|Quotations]]. Ideally, there would be a little image of a book beside it. I notice that you had images beside all your links, but while I'm sure there are free images of books all over Wikipedia, I have no idea where to find one. And I wouldn't dare attempt to add another correctly-formatted link. If you have any ideas, I'd be very happy for you to edit my page — but if it's a complicated job, don't bother. Cheers, AnnH 20:56, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I managed to find an image of books, and I added the extra link, but I haven't a clue how to make it go at the real bottom (i.e. BELOW the two that are currently at the bottom) and in the centre. I saved it, even though it looks a mess, because I thought there was a better chance that someone would fix the bad formatting than if I didn't put it in at all. If you get time, could you take a look please. Many thanks. AnnH 11:32, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, my user page was designed for only eight icons, and I positioned them by manually typing the coordinates for each of them. Adding a ninth one is a bit complicated, because you have to move all others to make it look good (you should decrease the spacing so that there will be more space to add one). You will have to change the numbers after "left: " and "top: " (the X- and Y-coordinates) to move the icons to a better spot. RexNL 19:44, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandal

Firstly, I'd like to express my frustration at this block, this is the 9th time this week alone I've been forced to resort to the secure Wikimedia wiki just to edit, why do admins keep blocking shared-ip's? *cry* Could you direct me to the specific vandalism coming from this address, as I'd like to forward it to TPG, and complain that this user is making my life difficult here. Why the hell doesn't MediaWiki recognize obvious proxy-server IP's like this IP recognition service does for example. Sigh. Thanks. +Hexagon1 (t) 12:12, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

These are the contributions from this IP address. RexNL 19:46, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Umm.. hey, you autoblocked me again, could you give me a specific few edits, because I can't seem to find a vandalism one in the contribs. And an unblock would be nice. +Hexagon1 (t) 12:08, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet

I believe I have come across a new sockpuppet of Bugman94:

Mr. Cookie

A quick message he left and then deleted on my talk page, which can be found in my talk page history here clearly suggests that this is the same user.

Please respond to this ASAP. Mr. Cookie just won't stop. He's not vandalizing; instead, he wants a mediation because I'm "mean" to him, and wants his user page temporarily protected. Your input? --—The preceding unsigned comment was added by EMC (talkcontribs) . 01:57, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pieism

I'm a pieist as well and I added to the pieism page. I am annoyed as well it got deleted as well.Anew sect of pieism has been discovered .It is called JoJo Pieism. They believe the pie has come to earth in the form of a man, JoJo. They follow the sacred scrolls of knowledge. Don't confuse this sect with the other one recently discovered. Now there are 5 sects of pieism. Strangely enough all the sects have come into being with out knowing about the others. Maybe the pie guides us to it. Please help spread the news!. I think he means "help spread the patent nonsense". --Lord Deskana Dark Lord of the Sith 21:08, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I was wondering whether this is regarded as a commercial link on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=BMW_M5&diff=58698851&oldid=58691921

History of edits:

http://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=BMW_M5&action=history

I reverted it on several occasions because the website contains only pictures (car wallpapers) and has no specific information. It is not an official site either. But User:Tom D. has repeateadly inserted the same links, in which case is close to 3 reverts. Is there anything that can be done to make a stop to this? YCCHAN 03:59, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Help with a page

Hello, I have seen that you have done edit on Ruthlessreviews.com wikipedia page. I think this page may be a good candidate for deletion. Can you look at it and give me your opinion. Thanks, Riadlem 20:40, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't really edit that article; I only reverted some vandalism. However, I would support a candidacy for deletion. RexNL 23:01, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism?

When did I vandalise anything?

Manmohan Singh article

Dear RexNL, Relevant references have been added to article :-).--Cathyh 04:32, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dear RexNL. I had made some chnages in Manmohan Singh article a few days ago. Please see the changes I made. I have mainly removed POV from this article. Statements such as "architect of modern India", "most highly respected" etc has been liberally used. This sounds like a advert/propaganda to me. Its gived the impression that he single handedly did everything for India. I also removed some highly speculatory content from this article, for instance "on being nominated from assam in future" etc.

Large amount of material was not related to his biography at all and was simply inserted to advance a political agenda.

Cathyh another wikipedia user, immediately reverted back my edits and smeared it as vandalism. While I explained why I made the changes on the talk page, this user did not first talk to me on the page but went straight ahead and reverted the article citing it as vandalism.

Instead of informing me, this user asked another user hariSingh to "keep an eye" on "POVremover's Vandalism". I urge you to look into this matter and would welcome your support. POVremover 01:51, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi RexNL, the user above has been block for violating wikipedia rules and I have added references e.g. from BBC.--Cathyh 05:51, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
