Northwinds is the name of an album by David Coverdale. On it's release there were eight tracks (two additional tracks on recent reissues.) Coverdale rarely performs these songs now.

These songs were written and recorded shortly after Coverdale left Deep Purple and reflect his state of mind at the time. The styles vary between soulful ballads and bluesy rockers, the subtlety of which he tended to lose in his later recordings with Whitesnake.
