Erin N. Marcus is an internal medicine doctor who writes on public health issues for The Washington Post [1], Huffington Post, KevinMD, The New York Times, and other publications. She is a general internist and an associate professor of clinical medicine at the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine.[1][2] She is a former American Association for the Advancement of Science Mass Media Fellow and worked as a newspaper reporter before receiving her medical degree. In 2009 she was awarded an American Cancer Society Cancer Control Career Development Award for Primary Care Physicians and a grant from the Ford Foundation.[3] In 2013 she was named one of "10 Internists Physicians Should Follow on Twitter" by Medical Economics and Modern Healthcare magazines. She also has a daughter named Amelia, she is a singer and actress.
