re:Admin?

I sincerely appreciate your offer and am *very* flattered. I'd like to hold off for a bit longer, but I: a) will contact you if I ever have an RfA, b) encourage you to participate in my editor review. Thank you so much again!. Regards, Alphachimp talk 00:09, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Logo metromix.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Logo metromix.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:07, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

Re: Userbox

Hi, Animereadabouter2. To add a userbox to your user page, simply type {{templatename}}. For example, if you wish to use Template:User Adult, enclosing the text User Adult in curly brackets as shown above will produce the following:

A This user is an adult.

To find userboxes, try starting at Wikipedia:List of userboxes and Category:User templates. Please contact me if you have any additional questions. Regards, Sango123 00:52, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again. You can find helpful information on bots at Meta:Bot, Wikipedia:Bots, Wikipedia:Types of bots, Wikipedia:History of Wikipedia bots, and Wikipedia:Bot requests. Thanks, Sango123 17:40, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your RfA

Please don't take this the wrong way, but it's really a little too early in your Wikipedia career to be looking to become an administrator. Most people look for a minimum of 1000 edits (you have <50) and a substantial involvement in the community. I'm not trying to discourage you, but I really don't think that the RfA will be successful. Feel free to get back to me with any questions. alphaChimp laudare 04:59, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Logo metromix.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Logo metromix.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BrownCow • (how now?) 20:48, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Look at This

Unfortunately, it seems that Metromix has been deleted previously (by me, actually). You can view the reasons for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Metromix. Since the subject matter isn't particularly notable, I wouldn't recommend adding it to the main namespace again. Still, there are many other ways you can help improve or write new articles; to start, take a look at Wikipedia:Requested articles, Wikipedia:List of WikiProjects, or Wikipedia:Collaborations. By the way, I read your userboxes, and just one thing: may I suggest changing {{MiraLuka/Userboxes/User male}} to {{User:MiraLuka/Userboxes/User male}}? :) Thanks, Sango123 03:56, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Admin

uhhh... I'm Animereadabouter2 and I just want to know first hand what is it like to be an administrator I'm not requesting I just want to know so mabye I will request. — Preceding unsigned comment added by animereadabouter2 (talkcontribs)

Well, it's up to you what you make of it really. Depends one how you choose to get involved in things. Basically you can delete bad pages and block people and lock articles, but it has more implications than that, if that's how you want to make it.Blnguyen | rant-line 05:34, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Logo metromix.jpg listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Logo metromix.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Re: Userpage

To be honest, your userpage is a bit messy. I don't know whether you do this on purpose, but when you start typing a line with a space, your text will be displayed in this font inside a formatted box. Since this eliminates word wrap, the text will often continue beyond the width of the page, and some markup like headings won't display correctly. There are helpful formatting tips at Wikipedia:How to edit a page and Wikipedia:Quick guide to help you get acquainted with wiki markup. Sango123 22:04, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. When leaving a new message on talk pages, please click the [+] tab next to the [edit this page] button at the top and fill out an appropriate subject header instead of always posting new comments at the foot of a page. If you'd like to continue a discussion under the same subject header, simply use colons (:) to indent subsequent comments. See WP:TALK#Formatting for a helpful demo on this.

Re: Infobox

Simply follow the instructions on the infobox's template and/or discussion page. Say you want to add {{Infobox golfer}} to an article. Go to Template:Infobox golfer, copy the code under Empty syntax, paste it at the head of the article, and fill in the required fields. For an example, take a look at how this infobox is used on the article Tiger Woods in editing mode. Sango123 17:58, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Would you please explain this edit? The AFD tag on that page doesn't even link back to that page. Also, please indicate somewhere in the edit summary what you are doing. I've removed the tag pending some sort of explanation from you. --Pilotguy (roger that) 23:32, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I see you've explained (I'd much rather you perform all edits whilst logged in, and use edit summaries). Just be careful in the future. --Pilotguy (roger that) 23:38, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Kcjjlogo.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:
