Bethel college began its football program in 1914 under head coach William E. Schroeder. As of completion of the 2009 season, the teams have produced a cumulative record of 280 wins, 474 losses, and 13 ties.[3]

The current coach is Martin Mathis.[4] Mathis replaces James Dotson, who held the position for one season after the sudden resignation of Travis Graber on July 27, 2012.[5]
