Albany Creek High School is the site of the 2003 Student Ghetto Uprising as an act of student resistance that arose within the Albany Creek ghetto originating on the school oval. There were only minor injuries but calm was restored and negotiations took place which ended in the reinstallation of cold water bubblers, a reduction in student homework and the freedom not to were a hat on the oval while taking part in sporting events. As a sign of good will, the school renamed their sporting teams in 2015 to represent the biggest selling products in the canteen. |
