The Breadwinner is an upcoming 2017 Irish-Luxembourgian-Canadian[1] animated film by Cartoon Saloon directed by Nora Twomey and executive produced by Angelina Jolie.[6] Based on the best-selling novel by Deborah Ellis, the film will be released in the summer of 2017.[7]
Plot
After her father Nurullah is unjustly arrested, Parvana, a girl in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, must dress as a boy so she can work to support her mother Fattema and her sister Soraya.[7]
