Edwards Manufacturing Company is a family-owned business in Albert Lea, Minnesota known best for their Hydraulic Ironworkers.

History

Manufacturing since 1875 Edwards got its start with road graders,[1] and a variety of manufactured tools such as the stump puller Manual Shears and Intake Grates. As Horse operated machinery fell out of favor Edwards focused more on their shears and intake grates. Edwards' focus on the shear is what led them into making the Ironworkers that they make today.

Ironworkers

Edwards Manufacturing Company focuses on the production of ironworkers, a fabrication tool that specializes in cutting and forming metal. Edwards designs their ironworkers with many functions in one tool[2] and has a range of ironworkers and custom tooling to fine tune an ironworker to a specific job. Edwards has a line of 12 ironworkers as of 2015.[3] Smaller machines aimed towards hobby fabricators through large production machines that can be operated by two people at once. All of these ironworkers can be fitted with tooling to specialize their fabrication, and additional machines can be hooked up to the ironworker's hydraulic power for even more fabrication capabilities.[3]

Hydraulic Accessories

Edwards Hydraulic Accessories plug into the ironworker's hydraulic power allowing for specialized equipment to complement the ironworker. Edwards has 5 Hydraulic Accessories as of 2015.[3] The 10 Ton Bender can bend pipe and tubing from 0° to 180°. The 40 and 20 Ton Shop presses can handle a number of bump-die projects. The Horizontal Press can brake, form, and press many shapes and sizes. The Radius Roller can roll pipe and tube from curves to rings.[4]
