Hi People, you guys are doing a wonderful task. Maybe I can be a part of it. To start my association, let me start with question - all the stuff you put here, do anyone of you believe in it? Is this just a Myth? I am asking this because at many places I read Hindu 'Mythology'. This is a Faith for me (and many others- 1bn+ people), and it pains me when anybody calls it a 'Mythology'. I hope you understand my point and we can get the things corrected. <small><span class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding unsigned comment added by Ankurgarg2 (talk • contribs) 09:32, 19 April 2016 (UTC)</span></small><!-- Template:Unsigned --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

To raise the quality of articles to academic level
Wikipedia, as it stands today is the preferred destination for information on all topics worldwide. Being an encyclopaedia, it is our duty to ensure that each article meets academic standards of rigour and presentation. However these qualities are severely lacking in many pages under Project Hinduism.

I propose the following major changes to the layout of the Hinduism articles:
# All citations from the epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata has to be from the Critical Editions only, in line with standard academic practice. For Ramayana, it is the ORI, Baroda edition, and for Mahabharata it is the BORI, Pune edition
# In line with above, all character pages would have to be massively rewritten to segregate their character biographies as per Critical Edition and other versions. Characters like Barbarik, for example, would have to be clearly characterised as Non-Canon character
# As these measures are expected to draw criticism, and even vandalism from those not familiar with the Critical Editions, therefore partial/complete edit protection is advisable for the changes to be made

I am versed in Classical Sanskrit which is the language the Epics are written in, and would like to offer my expertise and services, such as it is.
The reason I am writing here, is to justify the major changes I will be applying as per my proposal, so that my edits are not vandalised and reverted.

'Faith', not 'Mythology'

Hi People, you guys are doing a wonderful task. Maybe I can be a part of it. To start my association, let me start with question - all the stuff you put here, do anyone of you believe in it? Is this just a Myth? I am asking this because at many places I read Hindu 'Mythology'. This is a Faith for me (and many others- 1bn+ people), and it pains me when anybody calls it a 'Mythology'. I hope you understand my point and we can get the things corrected. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ankurgarg2 (talkcontribs) 09:32, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

 1. All citations from the epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata has to be from the Critical Editions only, in line with standard academic practice. For Ramayana, it is the ORI, Baroda edition[1], and for Mahabharata it is the BORI, Pune edition[2]
 2. In line with above, all character pages would have to be massively rewritten to segregate their character biographies as per Critical Edition and other versions. Characters like Barbarik, for example, would have to be clearly characterised as Non-Canon character
 3. As these measures are expected to draw criticism, and even vandalism from those not familiar with the Critical Editions, therefore partial/complete edit protection is advisable for the changes to be made

I am versed in Classical Sanskrit which is the language the Epics are written in, and would like to offer my expertise and services, such as it is. The reason I am writing here, is to justify the major changes I will be applying as per my proposal, so that my edits are not vandalised and reverted.
