Category:Portland Pirates players
Please do not add players to categories such as Category:Portland Pirates players until they have actually played in a regular-season or playoff game with that team. None of the Buffalo Sabres' prospects you added to that category have played for Portland yet. Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. You never know: any one of those players could make the Sabres' roster straight out of training camp and never play for Portland. Or they could be traded before ever playing for Portland. Or they could suffer a career-ending injury and never play for Portland. In any case, please wait until they actually play for the team before categorizing them thusly. I actually heard one of these edits mentioned on WGR this morning (which tipped me off to the issue), as the morning show crew was wondering why Dylan Hunter was listed as having played for Portland when he hasn't yet. These types of errors hurt Wikipedia's credibilty; please think about this when editing. Thank you! Skudrafan1 (talk) 12:34, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
CfD nomination of Category:Buffalo, NY restaurants
I have nominated Category:Buffalo, NY restaurants (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) for renaming to Category:Restaurant in Buffalo, New York (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at the discussion page. Thank you. BencherliteTalk 11:48, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Uniformity of rosters
I have started a discussion over at Talk:List of current NLL team rosters which discussed the roster used on this page. If you are interested, please let me know what you think. Mitico (talk) 17:22, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Diacritics at NHL team articles
I've noticed you've tried to hide diacritics from the birthplaces section, on some of the NHL team article's Template rosters. I agree fully with your actions, but they're futile (trust me, I know). GoodDay (talk) 21:49, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, what's the deal with some people telling to change the names but not the birthplaces. That seems fairly inconsistent and downright stupid. Jc121383 (talk) 21:20, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
Djsasso will explain it to you; I'd rather avoid it, as it gets me too frustrated. GoodDay (talk) 23:22, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- The reason for player names is a compromise because certain individuals argue bitterly that english doesn't use them. However there are a large number of people who believe that english does. Without getting into the huge arguements that come along with this topic basically it comes down to this. NHL sweaters do not have diacritics so we don't use them for players names because in a way you can argue the most common useage when it comes to the NHL is to not use them. Birthplaces on the other hand are very different as they are proper names to cities and would be translated incorrectly if you removed the diacritics as English does keep the diacritics in place names unless there is a completely different english word for a city name. Munich is an example of a completely different name in english. There is pretty much no basis for removing them from birth places. Yes this makes for inconsistancies but it keeps the massive edit warring that occurs around this subject all around wikipedia from rearing its ugly head in hockey articles. -Djsasso (talk) 20:26, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- OK, thank you for the explanation. And as per the code on my user page, I am working on some new templates within my user subpages. Thank you also for removing the deletion notice. Jc121383 (talk) 20:36, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yup, I figured that was what you were doing. Just was confused for a second because I thought the template was deleted and then I realized you had just copied over all the code so I removed the deletion notice that you didn't need. -Djsasso (talk) 20:40, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Jeff Giuliano
FYI: He was an unrestricted free agent and the Kings had no plant to re-sign him, according to their general manager, Dean Lombardi. Giuliano signed with Moscow Dynamo. I doubt you'll see much online about it, except from a Russian site, since he wasn't really a noteworthy player at the NHL level. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 22:56, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
- As an aside, if you want online confirmation of this, go to www.eurohockey.net and click on transfers. Its listed there and that site is likely the most accurate site on the net for transfers to and from Europe. Shootmaster 44 (talk) 01:29, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Richmond/Gwinnett Braves
It could be argued that the Gwinnett Braves are not officially that yet; though the AAA season is over, it's not 2009 yet. Plus there's no stadium in Gwinnett Co. for them to play at yet even. That being the case, I'll relent to your judgment. --Mhking (talk) 03:46, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. Official affliation terminations have come down and I thought I heard about Atlanta/Richmond, but I double checked and I just heard Cleveland/Buffalo, Washington/Columbus, and Toronto/Syracuse. You can change it back. I was just being a little overprotective of a page I created. Jc121383 (talk) 14:55, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Dowd
I removed Dowd because he is a free agent with no contract with the Flyers. He's a try out invitee to camp, with no guarantees of making a roster. Bryan Berard is in the same boat. FYI Aubin just signed a one year deal: he's technically more of a Flyer than Dowd at this point. ccwaters (talk) 20:47, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- The Project calls for UFAs to remain on their last team's roster until they are on another team or retired. Since he still is on the team and the "(UFA)" is noted, he should remain. Plus what if he re-signs? It's stupid to remove him just to put him back. Jc121383 (talk) 03:54, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not sure where the project declared that. I'm not going to make a big stink over it though: the rosters are going to be in flux over the next few weeks with training camps opening. ccwaters (talk) 11:35, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- Me neither, however, the more new roster features we can use (the UFA tag) the more smoothly our roster changeover will go. Jc121383 (talk) 20:21, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of List of current IL team rosters
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article List of current IL team rosters, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Orphaned non-free image (Image:Minnesota Timberwolves logo.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Minnesota Timberwolves logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Kalel2007 (talk) 04:06, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
File source problem with File:Scsrmain.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Scsrmain.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:13, 3 May 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 11:13, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
Hello Jc121383! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
