Kundrodi is surrounded by Mandvi Taluka towards west, Anjar Taluka towards North, Adipur Taluka towards East and Bhuj Taluka towards North .Mandvi , Adipur , Bhuj , Gandhidham are the nearby Cities to Kundrodi. Kundrodi is very close to the much coveted mundra port which is hardly 10 to 15 km from the village.

Demographics

Around 229 families stay in Kundrodi and the total population as per 2011 census[1] of Kundrodi is 986. Gujarati is the Local Language here. However most people speech Kutchi.

How to Reach

  • By Rail - Kundrodi does not have a Railway Station of its Own. However Gandhidham Jn Railway Station is major railway station and is 40 KM from Kundrodi which has connections to Ahmedabad and Mumbai. From there local transport such as ST buses, Shared Autos can be used to reach Kundrodi.
  • By Road - Kundrodi is around 300 km from Ahmedabad and is connected by National and state highways. The highway are good and can easily take you to kundrodi in 5 to 6 hrs by private vehicles. Many private travel operators ply between Ahmedabad and Mundra where you can get dropped at Mokha Patia. Kundrodi is 3 km from Mokha Patia.
  • By Air - Kundrodi does not have a commercial airport. However, Bhuj which is close by can be used for commuting whenever commercial flights start from Bhuj.

Famous People[2]

Legendary Music directors Kalyanji Anandji were born here in 1933. Kalyanji and Anandji were born to Virji Shah on 2 March 1933. Their father was a Kutchi businessman who had migrated from Kutch to Mumbai to start a Kirana (provision store).

Places of Worship

Though Kundrodi is very small village, it houses a temple of "Momai Mata" who is a hindu goddess and is considered to be the main temple for entire Chauthani (Rachcha) family. Most of the Chauthanis have moved and settled to Mumbai/Ahmedabad, however they gather once a year at kundrodi to worship the deity.

Kundrodi also has many other temples which is maintained and worshipped by locals.
