Please sign your messages with four tildes ('''~~~~''') and please be as specific and concise as possible. If I reviewed your Articles for Creation submission, please read the message(s) at the draft page clearly before adding a message here. As this has happened multiple times, please ensure your message is only posted here once (not doubled).

PLEASE ADD YOUR MESSAGE AT THE BOTTOM and generally, I will reply here so please watch this page for a response. Unless it's an AfC page, where I'll usually comment there and you will get a notification for that. If I have taken time reviewing your draft, please be patient and I will get to it as I am quite busy with other tasks but am certainly willing to look at it and will not need reminding.

New users: If you want to learn the basics of Wikipedia, my page for new users here contains useful information. Information such as citing sources, submitting images and changing & deleting username. If that page hasn't answered your question(s), contact me here.

Your reasons for declining this page seem to be following their own logic. I have been told in the commons that this should be accepted as it was (let alone with the new edits). It meets the guidelines Wikipedia names for notability (secondary coverage in major media, academic accolades). Whether you personally think it counts as being notable is something else, but that seems to be what you are running on. AxelRR (talk) 13:25, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

    AOMB

I received notification stating that my newly created page is advertorial and you requested for speedy deletion. I am new to Wikipedia and may I know what is the problem of the article? When I read through pages of other charity organization, for eg: beyondblue in Australia, I didn't find any differences in the editorial style. May I know how to rectify my problem? Thank you.Celestina wang (talk) 05:03, 16 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi.excuse me I'm new here and I just was trying to make a page for my friend Arsha Aghdasi, he is a famous Stuntman in Iran. And he doesn't have only one award, there is three, I was about to improve the page and I still have about 40 links of his video and interviews. I can't understand why you delete the page? What was wrong with that?because he is a big deal! Please let me know how should I make this page. Thank you.Setareh Malek (talk) 03:34, 11 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You mentioned that the above mentioned article will be deleted within a week because it didnot have any credible reference apart from Hindustan Times. I have added new more credible references (Economic Times, Times of India, Business Today and Indian Express); even external links have been added for the same (other wikipedia articles). Do let me know if any further enhancement needs to be done. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aditya.mishra.ace (talkcontribs) 06:30, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Cis-Kuen Lun Tract is the same as the Trans-Karakoram Tract which I have edited extensively! You wanted sources. The Times Atlas link which shows the depiction of the northern border of Kashmir is the source! The map displays an enclosed area in northern Kashmir with the caption "Undefined Frontier area". The area encompassing the caption "Undefined Frontier area" is the Cis-Kuen Lun Tract. It is the same thing as the Trans-Karakoram Tract. The only difference is that the while the Trans-Karakoram Tract extends from the Karakoram Range northwards to the Kuen Lun Range, the Cis-Kuen Lun Tract extends from the Kuen Lun Range southwards towards the Karakoram range in central Kashmir. View the Times Atlas map of 1954 which depicts the northern border of Kashmir on the watershed of the Kuen Lun Range on the Taghdumbash Pamir, Mariom Pamir, and the Raskam range or ridge and depicts the caption "Undefined Frontier area" below it extending towards the Karakoram range and the Chhogori Peak K2 but not actually touching K2 as even the Times Atlas did not consider the K2 peak to be disputed. Nor did the Times Atlas consider the Shaksgam Valley disputed for that matter as can be seen in the 1954 map published by the Times Atlas.I am adding this because there is a concerted effort to restrict the Trans-Karakoram Tract to the Shaksgam Valley which is clearly erroneous and not borne out by records!Even the official map published by the The Government of Pakistan depicting the alignment of the northern Border of Kashmir in 1962, depicted much of the Cis-Kuen Lun Tract as part of Kashmir and the alignment published by the Government of Pakistan predominantly was similar to and coincided with the portrayal of the northern Border of Kashmir in 1954 by the Times Atlas which had predominantly depicted the Cis-Kuen Lun Tract as a part of Kashmir under the caption "Undefined Frontier area" though at places, the official position of the Government of

Map depicting the official alignment of the northern border of Kashmir in 1962 according to the Government of Pakistan

Pakistan deviated from the position of the Times Atlas and the Government of Pakistan even depicted areas as part of Kashmir which were to the north of the border of Kashmir as published in 1954 by the Times Atlas! Also for an idea of the extent of the Trans-Karakoram Tract or the Cis-Kuen Lun Tract, please view this map (C) from the Joe Schwartzberg's Historical Atlas of South Asia at DSAL in Chicagowith the caption, "The boundary of Kashmir with China as portrayed and proposed by Britain prior to 1947". The geographical and territorial extent of the Trans-Karakoram Tract or the Trans-Kuen Lun Tract is more or less the territory enclosed between the northern most line and the innermost lines! Also if one were to look for sources or references for the Trans-Karakoram Tract on the internet, the only references would be the articles on Wikipedia and no other. So there!

Hence I request you to redirect Cis-Kuen Lun Tract to Trans-Karakoram Tract and then there will be no need for a separate article titled Cis-Kuen Lun Tract. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 106.51.31.23 (talk) 07:45, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

10:30:49, 10 May 2016 review of submission by Nairji

    Hello David,

Thank you again for your review and the feedback. Appreciate it.

With complete regard and due respect to your judgement I would like to put my argument forward to reconsider the declination because the citations and links provided are from some of the leading publications in India. And moreover the links / references submitted are not "passing comments" about the subject, most of them are dedicated interviews given by her in main-line media (print as well as television) and these television channels are in top 10 channels based on the popularity as well as the viewership when it comes to entertainment segment in India.

Requesting you to re-look at it, the references and links have been kept very specific and the selected sources are notable from a geo-specific popularity viewpoint.

Looking forward to a response from your side.

Thanks and best regards, Nairji (talk) 10:30, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewing Anthony Jakobs you spend less than 60 seconds and chose to tag it with {{notability}} using Page Curation in Previous revision of Anthony Jakobs. To me the article with sentences like

Jakobs has gone through multiple aliases including Antonio Cabreja, Anthony Jako, and West Jaco, before deciding on Anthony Jakobs. He's stated that Anthony Jakobs is simply the most professional and flows the best.

reeks of 14-year old writing his WP:AB, and I can't find a single thing that, to me, sounds like a credible claim of significance. Which do you find is a CCS?

Another thing I would have done prior to tagging with {{db-person}} would have been to remove

Hi, I got a tag from you for a reference improvement for the article on the Sydney Glaciarium. Before removing the tag you applied I thought I'd point out that absolutely every section of content on that article is in fact referenced and also every reference is from a major national newspaper. Newspaper articles from the time period, citing an event that took place in that time period, are about as credible a source and high quality a source that you can get ... I completely disagree that the credibility of the references need to be improved and do beg you to acknowledge national newspaper articles from the given time period as being one of the most credible references possible. I purposely try to not use reflective articles, written about an event years after the fact. I am happy to discuss this further with you if you still do not agree that articles written for national newspapers by first hand witnesses to the event, at the time the event occurred, are a credible reference.

How I would improve this article on the historic Sydney Glaciarium is not credibility of the references, but the quantity of information on the article itself. Something I am in the process of doing and in the very spirit of the wiki - hope others do too. Orion 2012 (talk) 12:42, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Dear SwisterTwister, thanks for your second rejection and 3rd from Wiki's editor team as it allows me to provide even more references from international coverages of Charged Hong Kong despite the fact that it is a year old. There are now 56 references and they are either critically important to the development of the officially registered charity in Hong Kong or simply highly notable such as Forbes, Bloomberg, Reuters, CNBC, BBC, International Business Times, etc. Just to name a few. I have also written the article according to the Wikipedia's "guidelines on the notability of organizations and companies" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:The_answer_to_life,_the_universe,_and_everything, which states that "Articles generally require significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the topic." As far as anyone can tell, age of the organisation as the reason you have repeatedly rejected my article on, in this case on Charged Hong Kong as a registered charity doing good things to the world advocating clean air through electric vehicle adaptation, does not appear in any sense as a specific requirement and prerequisite by Wikipedia as a reason for rejection of article submission. What's more, using 'age' of a person, an organisation and particularly for a registered charity to judge its influence to the world is immature and unprofessional. Simply because by naming a minimum age requirement to be worthy of an article on Wikipedia, there will be thousands of counter-examples on Wikipedia.

Hello SwisterTwister. I'm a very new Wikipedia contributor. Not even beginning to be an editor. Earlier this month I added an article about Joseph McCormackMD. Today, I wanted to start an article about his son Arthur T McCormack but somehow instead of putting it in my sandbox, I put in somewhere for all the world to see. I'm just about finished with it, but in the meantime, I'd really like to understand what changes you made so I'll better know how to write in the future. Plus, I've got some questions about things that aren't working correctly and would love it if someone like you could help me through the sweet spots. Rohan Ali and removed PROD

Hi, sorry about removing the prod. I didn't even notice I had. Probably an edit conflict as you said. The page author had taken Wgolf and me through a couple rounds of adding fake refs and removing a BLPprod so I was coming to the conclusion that AfD was for the best as it is harder to game (ie you can't kill it just by removing the tag). I'm glad the article is gone now anyhow. Happy Squirrel (talk) 15:09, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Du Dang also known as NuckleDu is a well known name in the Fighting Game Community. He has a Team Liquid sponsorship, has won many tournaments, and is a recognizable villain for his excessive taunting. He is getting plenty of coverage from mainstream eSports sites. He's also the best Street Fighter player in the Florida region and is considered one of the best SF players of the younger generation. Ask Valoem, Prisencolin, or NeoChaosX and they will all say yes. Hi, I note from the relevant activity log that you 'reviewed' this article (which I created earlier today). Can I ask what your opinion was of it? I ask mainly as it has been Speedily Deleted under criteria which I do not believe apply. Please see User talk:RHaworth#On_the_Wight for details. I would be interested to know whether your 'review' ended in a judgement for Speedy Deletion (and if so, why), or if RHaworth simply reached this view themselves. Aftab Group Issue

    Hi,

    ref: www.wikipedia.org/wiki/aftab_group

i made an article on Aftab Group of Bangladesh, where i had my internship few years back. And now have no relationship with them. (So no chance for any interest conflict)

However i found that the article has been nominated for deletion.

I know that my article is not very very informative for a big group of business like aftab group.

but i sense their presence should be on wiki.

Please do not delete my article at once rather help me out in retaining the same, as i am new as a writer on wiki..

    Thanks

    Speedy deletion declined: AutoWed

Hello SwisterTwister. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of AutoWed, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: This is quite obviously ludicrous, and this kind of silly stuff is unworthy of an article in a serious encyclopedia, yeah? Reliable sources assert at least some WP:SIGNIFICANCE. WP:AfD candidate? Thank you. Shirt58 (talk) 11:56, 12 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies for the templated speedy deletion decline. This article appears to me laughable, unrelentingly silly, and unworthy of an encyclopedia article. But it appears to have had significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject.

Hello SwisterTwister. You tagged "BoChamp" for speedy deletion, but you did not notify the article's creator that it had been so tagged. There is strong consensus that the creators of articles tagged for speedy deletion should be warned and that the person placing the tag has that responsibility. All of the major speedy deletion templates contain a pre-formatted warning for this purpose—just copy and paste to the creator's talk page. Thank you.Template:Z19. He also has an upcoming tour that will give him much more press but I need his wiki up. Please please let me know how I can get this darn thing up because it has already taken up far more time than I allotted for it. Thank you so much for your help! The Editor's Barnstar
Just a BIG thank you for the support I have received from you in chat on Wikipedia. As a newbie here, I have the utmost admiration for the people here who give their time - extremely generously - to help others, like myself, and tomaintain this amazing free resource - that is Wikipedia. The more I come here, the more impressed I am. There are corporate organisations that pay large wages to people, that don't provide any where close to the service that I have received on Wikipedia, and when you consider that the Wikipedia service is provided by committed volunteers who don't get paid anything, I feel I have to pay my respects and major gratitude to people like yourself. BIG respect and simply Thank You VERY much! Keep up the great work. Monty heath (talk) 15:44, 14 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

14:47:27, 15 May 2016 review of submission by Bingargiola

    Hello,

What other information do you think would be needed in this article? I looked at many different sources, peer reviewed articles, scientific journals - and I cited them all, so I am a little confused about the references. I developed this page as an independent study with my college advisor while taking a scuba diving course. Based on direct experience and what I learned from the research, I believe I created a thorough and complete page. I think it is an important concept and needs to have its own page, not exist within the larger page of just Scuba Diving.

    Thank you,

    Brendan Ingargiola

I understand it looks like all the info is coming from Linkedin page, but please note there are at least two reliable sources included in the references, which is all that is needed to qualify the BLP as notable. Hi SwisterTwister,

You have reviewed my article for Dev Randhawa (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dev_Randhawa) and (I presume this was you) marked it for speedy deletion. The reason given was:

"All still questionable for the needed solid independent notability at WP:GNG"

I looked at the link for WP:GNG and came to the conclusion that the articles sources are problematic? If this is so, do let me know and I'll make the necessary changes - if I have to provide new sources for you to review I'll happily do so.

Daniel Darling is a significant contributor in the evangelical world whose position at the ERLC representing 16 million Southern Baptists qualifies him as someone "notable." Whoever made these recent edits clearly did not know what they were doing. Based on the edits I made, would you say I have acquired enough independent resources or should I still find my sources? Hello SwisterTwister,

This article has been declined several times for lack of sources. I provided multiple 3rd party, non local sources that confirm the vineyard's notability and it was declined.

North Carolina wine is a booming industry in the state that has recently attributed to it being also known as the East Coast's Wine Valley. Missouri and other smaller wine states have Wikipedia pages with substantially less credible and notable vineyard pages. The Raffaldini Vineyard is wildly popular, so much so that Obama brought a bottle of wine to the Italian President.

I understand Wikipedia's effort to keep the site credible, but it shouldn't be this difficult to get an article approved with valuable content. How can we work together to get this published?

Below are less notable vineyards and wine states with approved Wikipedia pages:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missouri_wine https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._James_Winery https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stone_Hill_Winery https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Les_Bourgeois_Winery

    This Week Newspaper

Hello David, thank you for reviewing the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:This_Week_Newspaper submission and I'll go through the references one by one to try weeding out the sources that don't fit the the golden rule exactingly. Because the article deals with historic publishing events, my first inclination, rightly or wrongly, was to provide evidence of their existence using documents and images throughout the referencing process. Like the article on "The Independent" newspaper at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Independent, a number of the references used are not entirely independent (sic) in that the sources are The Independent itself and I would welcome your advice on this. From Anna

Hello, my friend. I'm probably missing something obvious, but has anyone just asked you to maybe work other areas besides reviewing? A lot of people seem to find that you are going too fast or making errors or something. How would you feel about working other areas while watching other reviewer's outcomes to be sure, when you return to it, that all your calls will be acceptable to the community? Starting articles is bags of fun. We could work together on some of that. Thoughts? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 00:07, 22 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I review others quite frequently, yes, Anna Frodesiak, all honesty is that I live and breath NPP and I'm rather obsessed. :P Fortunately I work with other areas such as AfD, AfC, etc. I still occupy myself with those puzzles as you may remember. ;) I was about to go to AfD exactly now when I was your message. :P FWIW, I have also planned to particularly perhaps start some genus articles, I've attempted other subjects but they're often always non-notable. :P SwisterTwister talk 00:42, 22 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
(sorry to intrude) Hey SwisterTwister! I don't want you to avoid NPP though, because a lot of the stuff you PROD/CSD turn out to be accurate (and it helps me to find COI editors lol). Maybe you can try reviewing at a slower rate, but you know, I would rather have you reviewing it rather than a random new editor whose motive may be something else. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 04:47, 22 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

In this case, other editors had already added tags yet you still prodded for not particularly clear reasons (your C-P prod justifications are not particularly helpful). Hello Sir David
This article is created by some pan-arabists his name is alhaqiqa
This person vandalized many times the berbers article and also he commented on the articles for deletion to save his article so i deleted his comment
The North African Arabs article is created to abuse berbers and to distorting facts
In a section of this article "Berberisation and Berberised Arabs" they write Racism in North-Africa !!
There is an article "Arabs" so there is no need to create another article
I realy want your your opinion
This is his comment on the debate
"Keep Be Aware! This page is put up for deletion by a Berberist which has deleted many important information of many good pages on wikipedia about arabs. I already blocked AyOuBoXe of the page because he has deleted much reliable information without any sources or explanation. This is just a childish act of a North-African Berber which is playing games on Wikipedia and trying to remove the history of North-African Arabs. "

Hello, Would like to have your advise on what content should be exclude on the page [3] for it to get accepted. I have personally met this individual and honest to goodness his show "Yoga for you" on Zee International is so famous that it completed more than 1000 episodes. You can find out how many shows have crossed 1000+ episodes in Health and Wellness category, my belief is hardly any. I need your suggestion to make this article accepted in wikipedia. draft; Peter Reder

Hi re draft for Peter Reder

To answer your question, all the galleries and museums cited in the article are national institutions that have permanent collections. Just curious - why would this be a sticking point? Prestigious theatre venues and events also cited, and refs to well known publications. Thanks Celestial99 (talk) 08:38, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

    Global Force Wrestling Amped

Hi, could you redirect GFW Amped to Global Force Wrestling#GFW Amped? I mentioned this in the AfD and nobody opposed; it seems uncontroversial but the page got salted after it was created following a previous AfD. Thanks.LM2000 (talk) 02:08, 2 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 21:38:24, 2 June 2016 for assistance on AfC submission by 50.187.57.196

Thanks for reviewing my submission. I'll add reliable news sources as you suggest. As a first timer, perhaps you can advise on a couple of things: 1) do references have to be public or (for example) would analyst reports or conference material that require a subscription to access be acceptable? 2) there are a few other folks that are independent of the company that could contribute to the article. Is it OK for them to do so on this draft page, or is it better that one of them resubmit?

    appreciate the help!

50.187.57.196 Yes to all of your questions; as for the analyst reports, if it's specifically about the company, you could add them, news is particularly what's important here. SwisterTwister talk 22:00, 2 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Signac, LLC: Request for assistance on AfC submission

You said the page could not be posted because the company was "only founded this year thus it's not yet notable because it's too soon". Is this a rule that Wikipedia has? I can't find anything like that in the "notability guidelines", and it seems like an arbitrary decision. Signac is a joint venture by two separate billion-dollar, very notable companies, and is using software with a well-established track record. I made sure that my article had multiple citations from major, independent news sources that described the significance of Signac, which fulfills the all primary criteria for notability (depth of coverage; audience; independence of sources; and illegal conduct - the last of which does not apply). As detailed in the coverage from secondary sources, Signac is already making a substantial global impact by helping banking institutions to eliminate rogue trading and avoid other financial crises that have made major headlines and cost billions of dollars in recent years.

Thus it doesn't seem "too soon", and it meets all of Wikipedia's criteria for notability. It seems to me that waiting a year to post a Wikipedia page about this company would just make Wikipedia out of date for that time. I appreciate any suggestions you can give me to improve the article otherwise.

You wrote "Nothing to suggest independent notability or better improvement and may be best moved to Jim's article". 199.203.9.144 I meant to reply earlier but have not found the time to, you can certainly start a draft but I encourage you to start an account first to maintain consistency. Also, I suggest gathering enough information and sources to actually suggest its own notable article because, when I found encountered, there wasn't anything at all. Frankly I'm not confident there's actually enough for his own notable article because it seems he was best known for this. SwisterTwister talk 22:37, 7 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

09:40:07, 8 June 2016 review of submission by Jackie Partarrieu

Hi there. I am confused. You say that I did not use enough reliable sources (I cited NCBI, Lancet, Oxford Journals, the World Health Organisation, EORTC, ESMO, etc). Not sure where I can find more reliable/quality sources. You also said that there is not enough "significant coverage". We are talking about RARE cancers. That is the whole point. They are rare. Not many people care about them because they are "rare". Labs don't think there is enough money in them to make them profitable and interesting. Not enough research is done on them. Patients, children (all paediatric cancers are rare) are dying because of this. I was hoping a wikipedia article could add a little stone to the building of creating awareness of this not so rare, unfortunately, unmet health need. Can you please help me by explaining what more I can say and how I can go about it? I have mined Google to find more information but I think I have added all the quality sources I could find. Many thanks in advance for your guidance. Jackie

    02:19:59, 11 June 2016 review of submission by 67.9.151.198

    Hi SwisterTwister,

I respectfully disagree with your decision to decline this article and request a re-review. It has been built up by several authors independent of the subject over a long period of time. It meets the Golden Rule guidelines and the Guidelines for the Notability of Creative Professionals (filmmakers, etc.)

The Golden Rule: The subject indeed has significant coverage (multi-page editorials, not Q&A interviews) in reliable sources (NY Times, LA Times, LA Weekly, Hollywood Reporter, Variety, Filmmaker Magazine, IndieWire, the Museum of Modern Art, etc.) that are independent of the topic (of course, the periodicals previously mentioned aren't related to the subject of the article in any way).

Guidelines for the Notability of Creative Professionals:

    1) The person is regarded as an important figure or is widely cited by peers or successors.

The subject has been covered as one of the top 100 new filmmakers in a book published by Phaidon Press that was curated by major film festival programmers from around the world. The subject has also been nominated for an IFP Gotham Award. Also, included in the sources are interviews with other filmmakers who cite the work of the subject as an influence and something wholly original.

    2) The person is known for originating a significant new concept, theory, or technique.

See the above respond to #1. The filmmaker is known for the originality of his work.

    3) The person has created or played a major role in co-creating a significant or well-known work or collective body of work. In addition, such work must have been the subject of an independent book or feature-length film or of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews.

The subject created a work that was deemed significant by the NY Times, the Museum of Modern Art and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The work, "Loren Cass", has also been the one of the subjects of a book ("Take 100" published by Phaidon Press) and of multiple independent periodical articles and reviews. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.9.151.198 (talk) 02:26, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

    4) The person's work (or works) either (a) has become a significant monument, (b) has been a substantial part of a significant exhibition, (c) has won significant critical attention, or (d) is represented within the permanent collections of several notable galleries or museums.

The subject's feature film, "Loren Cass", is known for its originality (a), was featured in an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC (b), has been named a NY Times Critic's Pick and received strong reviews in numerous mainstream publications (c), was nominated for an IFP Gotham Award (c), and is represented at the Museum of Modern Art along with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (d), linked below for verification.

Request on 17:17:06, 15 June 2016 for assistance on AfC submission by Caerhys

Continuing the discussion at User_talk:SwisterTwister#This_Week_Newspaper, thanks, David, for your posting at User_talk:Caerhys, which has answered my first question as to where best to respond to your "Submission declined..." posting at Draft:This_Week_Newspaper. Please bear with me, I'm still finding my way.

References [1][1] and [30][2] have been added to the article to underpin the newspaper's notability in that the National Library of Wales holds a collection of the newspaper's editions and issues, which it continues to build, together with copies of the 1999/ 2000 Reader Survey. The newspaper itself was a reliable source of information throughout its seventeen year lifetime but I'm not sure if that counts. It also falls within the scope of WikiProject Wales to build a comprehensive and detailed guide to authoritative articles on Wales, and articles on Wales in Wikipedia.

I've run through all the other references and note many of them are there to provide evidence of the newspaper's existence and of events that led to its popularity and success before new media gained ground. This was particularly the case with campaigns conducted by the newspaper that resulted in significant outcomes. In reference [20][3] where a press release is used, this, together with reference [21][4], was to show how effective the newspaper had been in persuading visitors to abandon their cars and use public transport instead at their holiday destinations, to help reduce their carbon footprint in honeypot areas.

Additional amounts of in-depth, third-party news sources presents something of a challenge in that the newspaper itself was a primary news source by definition and apart from BBC TV's coverage of the official launch in 1989, reference [11][5], and their later coverage in 1990, reference [13][6], like the article on The Independent newspaper, a number of the references given are self-referencing and I would welcome your advice on this.

    Deleted article restored

I am contacting you in connection with the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Two Sided Amphora 63.1515, in which you took part. I closed the discussion as "delete", but an editor has now contacted me, providing new sources. All but one of the sources are not available to me, so I cannot comment on their content, beyond the fact that they show that a larger number of scholarly works mention the amphora than was shown to be the case in the deletion discussion. However, I have obtained a copy of the other one of those sources, and I believe it significantly changes the situation from that which existed at the time of the AfD discussion. (It is available at http://www.jstor.org/stable/4171394 if you have JSTOR access.) Because I believe that this information significantly increases the amount of evidence of notability, I have recreated the article, but of course anyone who disagrees is free to take it back to AfD. I am informing everyone who took part in the discussion. The article is at Two-handled amphora (Boston 63.1515), having been moved from the original title given in the AfD page. "Untold News" revision: please help.

    Greetings.

You reviewed the original submission for "Untold News" and rejected it due to insignificant coverage about the subject and lack of media sources. I have subsequently revised the article, "Fleshed out the Untold News' mission, accomplishments and added many more media sources". You can see it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Draft:Untold_News&oldid=724518258

THE PROBLEM is that I am not certain it was uploaded properly, and whether it is in the Wikipedia system for revision and acceptance. There is a message on the site that I do not understand: Cite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page).

Please advise, and if possible review the revision and hopefully approve it for publication.

    Ineligible speedy nomination

Per Wikipedia:Deletion policy#Speedy deletion, “If a page has survived a prior deletion discussion, it must not be speedy deleted except for newly discovered copyright violations.” You nominated the page for G11, purely promotional, when it went through an AfD, which you probably didn't notice, last year: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/SANS Institute. I know this is probably an edge case, but it never hurts to check the talk page to see if a previous AfD kept the page. As history shows, however, it could still use a good bit of maintenance, so you are formally invited to help add balancing content and tone down whatever you see as promotion. This is an entry to clarify information about the person behind a major political controversy which the entire South Korean nation knew and still knows about. It was in the headlines of major South Korean media for at least 5 days straight, and all of the news about this individual was the main topic of conversation among South Koreans for quite a long time. The topic has appeared on all major Korean shows and news outlets. Many Koreans still try to look up information about this individual because she recently reemerged into the spotlight via a series of interviews that she did about her work as an activist, writer, and an artist (the recent articles are also cited in the entry). The recent articles in question received thousands of likes on a major Korean news portal called "Daum" as well as other portals. Different articles that took from the original article also shared information about the individual through new articles that were created by different news outlets.

My reason for asking for this entry is that many people (both Korean and English-speakers) look up information about this individual because of the significant spotlight she has received starting from May 2014. You can even tell by typing in "candy koh" in a Google search bar, which tries to suggest that you complete the search by adding "law school" after the name.

Some people in forums have written false information about her. This wikipedia entry is necessary to correct any false information that has been spreading about her background, especially those that have been reported in the news already.

    Dear SwisterTwister,

thank you for your message and for reviewing my article. I am a bit puzzled. My intention is not to create an article on someone who is not notable but, on the other hand, create a page (probably a stub) on a living person who is notable because of its inherited position in the House. I was inspired by several other articles of heir apparents (not head of Houses!) which I found on Wikipedia and, to be honest, have same notability. Check these pages, for example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Scott,_Earl_of_Dalkeith / https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander,_Hereditary_Prince_of_Hohenzollern

I can add information on the page and I think it deserves to be published, at least as a stub. There are many stubs in Wikipedia with much less notability. I think it is more useful to have the page rather than not. Informing is our goal.

    Thank you for your attention.

I have deprodded. If you are unable to assess cited sources you probably can't make a good case for uncontroversial deletion and so proding is inappropriate in such cases. ~Kvng (talk) 22:27, 28 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

    Declined G11 nominations

Hello SwisterTwister, I'm contacting you due to having to decline several of your G11 speedy deletion nominations. In two cases, there was a version of the article in history that was not spammy and could be reverted to, while in another case the article had already survived an AfD. Please take a bit more care and check for these things prior to nominating an article for deletion under G11, a nomination isn't appropriate in such cases. What kind of notable sources do you need or are looking for in order to receive approval of submission? I have already included a whole list of references and sources that support Rainforest’s notability as an outerwear apparel company. What do you suggest I do?

Hi David! I looked at your profile, and I thought you might be able to help me out with a little more feedback. I know ecological restoration and onsite wastewater treatment aren't the center of the universe, but actually Biohabitats is very well-known as specialists in the field, which is growing rapidly and an important part of 21st century city planning and post-industrial development. I think I had more in the original submission about the firm's notoriety, but I took it out when it got dinged for sounding like an advertisement. So, for example, when north korea realized they had serious land use and degradation issues, they flew Biohabitats staff in for a consultation. (The staff had to sign a complete waiver for all bodily harm for the US government!) Stuff like that. It's not a big field, but Biohabitats is right on top of it. I know straight corporate pages aren't appropriate for Wikipedia without the notoriety criteria, but I think it's hard to show notoriety without sounding like bragging on the firm. Do you have any advice?

    Bud Pierce

    Hi,

Curious as to see why this hasn't been approved, it seems every moderator has a different threshold for approval.

I understand that Pierce hasn't been elected to the office yet, but there are others such as his primary opponent, Allen Alley, that have a wiki page but haven't even made it this far in a governor's election. How much sourcing do I need to get to meet this alternative criteria for politicians "Just being an elected local official, or an unelected candidate for political office, does not guarantee notability, although such people can still be notable if they meet the primary notability criterion of "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject of the article"."?

I am happy to put in every known newspaper article about the guy and his campaign, but it seems excessive to repeat the same points over and over again with new sources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Black Dogg1169 (talkcontribs) 17:23, 5 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

    Walter Noetico article

    Dear David,

I am a collaborator of Richard F Morris, who had been working for the past month on the article about the Artist, Walter Noetico. I thank you for your time in reviewing the page of Maestro Noetico. Sadly, I think that on your part there has been a hasty judgment and decision in considering this Artist, because it is fair that I let you know that Maestro Noetico does not desire to sell his work, even to the most important museums in the world, but this does not necessarily make him a less important artist. Quite on the contrary, it makes him more deserving.

The reason for this is that Noetico wishes to donate all of the works in his possession (circa 250 artworks) to the American Nation, and for this reason he is already in contact with philanthropist David Rockefeller Jr.

Maestro Noetico despises the mercantile speculation that is done to art and artists, and it’s incomprehensible why a serious encyclopedia, like Wikipedia, requires that the artists “sell” and great museums “buy”, in order to insert the artists into Wikipedia.

It really seems a contradiction, considering that Wikipedia is against those who want to be added to it, in order to make promotional speculation.

I think (and you, David, who appreciates the wisdom, I hope you will share my thoughts) that Wikipedia should have some different rules, to assess the artists, standards that have always been considered primary in art history.

Until not long ago, an artist was considered to be of value only if he had the support of either a philosopher, a humanist scholar, an art historian or an art critic of high reputation/value. Only these writers could historically decide on an artist's aesthetic validity.

Now, it must be considered that Walter Noetico has had the support of even four major writers and art critics known internationally as: Alexandre Cirici, being the critic who has made great Picasso and Mirò, and perhaps he did not manage to make great also Noetico, simply because he died prematurely. And only having in hand his presentation is already a title of merit and credit (which Maestro Noetico has).

Then: Gillo Dorfles - another great critic respected all over the world (and still alive, at 106), then the writer and art critic Raffaele De Grada, who was for many years the curator of the Venice Biennale, which - as you know - is the biggest art event of the world. Then, also the philosopher Silvio Ceccato.

It should also be considered that no more than 30 years ago, it was sufficient to have only one of those mentioned art critics, in order to make an artist of value and consequently encyclopaedic.

I truly hope you will agree in thinking that the value of an artist is not measured by assessing his market quotations, but it is measured by assessing his aesthetic value and cultural message – it is those values that enriche the Human Race. The things that one buys and sells, only form part of a market, and a mercenary speculation. But the true, real Art belongs only to the Spiritual sphere.

For these motives, I humbly ask you to reconsider your decision about the artist Noetico, in order to honor the diffusion of Art and Culture.

Thank you kindly, David. Jeremy --Jermy Alterman (talk) 21:45, 7 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

    Paul Soulellis

Hello and thank you for reviewing the new page Paul Soulellis and raising the important issue of notability.
Soulellis is a notable artist in the field of artist's books, and his medium is the printed page. The highest honor for book artists is to be collected by special artists' books collections at major museums and universities worldwide. Several such institutions collect the work of Soulellis.
Two edits have been made to the page to better demonstrate his notability.
First, a list of some of the institutions who collect his artists' books has been added. Please note that this list includes the Museum of Modern Art in NYC, one of the most significant museums in the world. Also added are Yale University and the Walker Art Center and several other important institutions.
Second, a list of art exhibitions that featured the work of Soulellis during the last three years has now been added to the article. This was originally left out to keep the article shorter but I believe it should now be added to demonstrate his notability. Please note that this list includes the Museum of Modern Art in NYC and the Gagosian Gallery, one of the most significant private commercial galleries in the world.
I hope these additions help demonstrate the notability of this artist.

    Footballers

    Hi SwisterTwister,

I'm going through the new pages feed, and I keep seeing articles about footballers that just say their name, position and club. They're theoretically notable as per Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Notability, but if there is no actual information on the page, isn't it correct to just redirect them to their club's page? Or is that a losing battle? --Slashme (talk) 18:28, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Slashme, with my years of experience at NPP, the footballers are in fact notable themselves if they have played for a notable league, yes. SwisterTwister talk 18:36, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

    JD Busfield Article

Thank you for taking the time to review the article. Your rejection based on lack of notability because of a professional baseball player's minor league status appears to be contradicted by existing articles such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryan_Boldt_(baseball). If you would like, I can compile a larger list of examples where professional baseball players are considered notable based on their minor league status alone. Please let me know. 108.71.78.101 (talk) 19:03, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

108.71.78.101 It was because it seems he was only selected for the Tampa Bay Rays Draft, and perhaps not for the actual permanent team especially because he's only playing for the minor team Hudson Valley Renegades (there's no notability from playing with the Renegades). SwisterTwister talk 19:19, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for responding. If you will review the existing article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryan_Boldt_(baseball) you will see that Ryan Boldt is currently playing on the Hudson Valley Renegades and is in fact a teammate of JD Busfield. It does, therefore, appear that playing with the Renegades provides enough notability to allow https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryan_Boldt_(baseball) to be an accepted article. The same acceptance criteria should therefore be applied to the JD Busfield article. 108.71.78.101 (talk) 20:04, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally please refer to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York%E2%80%93Penn_League_rosters. The players with wikipedia links on this page all play at the same minor league level as the Renegades. Specifically under the Hudson Renegades you will find https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travis_Ott and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garrett_Whitley_(baseball) in addition to the Ryan Boldt article listed above. The https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York%E2%80%93Penn_League_rosters article links to many, many players whose notability is purely based on their minor league status within a professional baseball organization. The JD Busfield article contains the same design and notability as these numerous examples. 108.71.78.101 (talk) 00:03, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

    What's Up SwisterTwister

    LunaTunes5 (talk) 04:46, 9 July 2016 (UTC) Hey SwisterTwister-[reply]

Thanks for reviewing my page for Craig Donohue. So, I based this page off the basis that Robert Greifeld, Duncan Niederauer Terrence Duffy and Tom Farley have Wikipedia pages-- Greifeld being the CEO of Nasdaq (an exchange with OCC), Niederuaer being the CEO of NYSE until 2014, Terrence Duffy as the Executive Chairman and President of CME Group and Tom Farley being President of NYSE (Board member of/exchange with OCC). Donohue was the CEO of CME Group and led the development and completion of CME's merger with the Chicago Board of Trade and the acquistion of the New York Mercantile Exchange and the Commodity Exchange Inc. Ah, this was huge for the financial industry! It resulted in over $20 billion in mergers and acquistions. Donohue is now the Executive Chairman of OCC, which was designated a Systemically Important Financial Market Utility and advocates on behalf of the listed options industry while ensuring that the obligations of the contracts it clears are fulfilled to essentially be the foundation for secure markets by acting as guarantor. CME and OCC are both SIFMUs, meaning their failure could threaten the US economy, so the heads of these SIFMUs should be easy to search on Google for more information (in my opinion).

Thanks, looking forward to your feedback.

    CS Afumati

It's not true, a football team gets professional when promoted to Liga III. Are a lot of teams from Liga II and Liga III that have pages on wikipedia and was not any problem ever, it's a football team, not a football player! The rule with at least one match at Liga I is for players!

Liga Profesionistă de Fotbal (Professional Football League) is a Romanian governing body that runs the Liga I, the top professional division of the Romanian football league system, and the Cupa Ligii, Romania's secondary club football tournament. But Liga II, III and Cupa Romaniei are organized by FRF, you can't tell me, or anyone that these are not professional, only because are all organized by FRF and not by their LPF's. For example, the winner of Cupa Romaniei is qualified for Europa League, so if this is not professional, how can the club participate in an UEFA competition? Liga II and Liga III clubs have also professional contracts with their players. When a club promoted from Liga IV to Liga III is affiliated to FRF, so, yes you can say that a Liga IV club is an amateur one, but not a Liga III and the less a Liga II one.

    The Most Important

A football club it does not have to be professional to have a wikipedia page, are amateur clubs that have pages so I don't see why is a problem for a professional or a semi-professional club?

Ex: Whitehaven A.F.C., Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateur F.C., Ormond Amateur Football Club and these are fully amateur, CS Afumati is professional in my opinion, if you insist with the LPF thing, in the worst case I can say that is semi-professional. But I don't believe that, because all the FRF rules are made for a professional level.

Also Liga II have a governing body that is named LPF 2, but is not official.

    Hi there,

I am a bit confused about your reason for deletion

"Still questionable for the authors notability considering WorldCat only lists 340 libraries, 25 of them is for 1 book widely held at libraries."

Does this refer to his novels, which are crime noir novels. Also he was the main news reader for the main French news TV show for 20 years. That should be notability by itself.

    Walter Noetico, Artist

Dear David /SwisterTwister, I believe my colleague, Jeremy Alterman, wrote to you on 7 July. I have now added the reference to one of the works that are being in a Collection of Pala Graziussi Museum in Venice (what I had managed to find for now). In the 1980 book "Indimensional Art", there are references to certain number of works that have been sent back in the late 1970s, to Kunst Museum, Wallraf Richart Museum, Ermitage, Tate Gallery, Getty Collection, Museum of Modern Art in New York and Kuunz Collection in Vienna (all of which are very old archives and cannot be seen on the web, but details of which are mentioned in the penultimate pages of this book). I am not sure what else you wish me to do. As Jeremy Alterman said in his note to you of 7 July, Maestro Noetico since the 1970s, never wished to sell his work to any museum, but has always been mindful to leave all his artworks to American Nation, which he has already discussed with David Rockefeller Jr in correspondence with him. I shall submit again my draft, having also made some grammar improvements etc, and hope that you could exercise your discretion. Many thanks for your kind attention, David. Thank you so much for your revision... Kuan Sanchez has played in several games, however, all I could find is a photo during a Google search of him being tackled by #15 of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. There was also a photo of a fan that had taken a photograph with him. I put a photo of him that I found from the NFLPA Facebook page at the Philadelphia Regional Former Players Conference in 2015. Maybe because it was over 10 years ago that I can't find anything else?

You've just rejected my submission (Durreen Shahnaz) as "not notable." I have reviewed the guidelines for notability at some length. I observe:

    • Ms. Shahnaz is a TED Fellow (WP:ANYBIO)
    • Ms. Shahnaz won the Joseph P Wharton Award (WP:ANYBIO)
    • Ms. Shahnaz played a pivotal part at Nobel Peace Prize-winning Grameen bank

On a personal note - anyone playing shortstop for a second-rate team is automatically worthy of a Wikipedia page, but this inspiring woman of color is not? She is about to be the subject of the Clinton Foundation plenary this coming fall. Would you please let me know what she would have to do to be worthy, or perhaps you might kindly relook your decision?

Wealth Beyond Wall Street Suggested Deletion

Hey User:SwisterTwister I added this business "Wealth Beyond Wall Street" because of two things really:

    1. The search "Wealth Beyond Wall Street" (And other longer tail searches combined with Free book etc) are searched 1800-2000 times more or less in Google every month.

    2. The reason it is searched so much is, because this business is all over the radio, tv and other media (Not so much online mostly they are very "physical" sending postcards even from what I have heard from different people) this is happening all over the country it seems and people are interested in learning more about this company because of the economic times we live in.

    Hence the high search volume.

I added into wikipedia so there is a neutral place for people to get information on the company because from what I see most reviews and such that are out there are mostly affiliates of theirs and this would be the one place that could be truly independent. Hopefully it won't get deleted. Clifffonte (talk) 07:37, 11 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there I'm not sure why this has been refused. There are third party reviews of Cook's novel in the New York Times, Financial Times, Daily Mail & Independent, & extensive interviews with him about his music in Repeat Fanzine & Pennyblack music, as well as a link to the major publisher Random House who publish his novel. Please could you let me know what more could be added? Thank you.

    Notability

    Hi SwisterTwister,

Thank you for reviewing World Branding Forum. I can see where you are coming from and I will add more references. Another thing to note is that they are a news publisher with an Alexa rank of 76,723. If they are not notable, then SF Site (2 references, Alexa 368,615); Odyssey Magazine (2 references; Alexa 9,665,835); and The Flea (3 references, Alexa 24,456,546), will all have notability issues in terms of lack of references (and perhaps audience). I do understand if this is just a normal organisation, then more references are required. But as they are also a publishing house, do you agree that the references that are there are sufficient for now? Thank you for your feedback. — SMasters (talk) 09:04, 11 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

    Forever After (Paradise Lost song)

Hi, I noticed that you have deleted the aforementioned article. You write, "Still nothing suggestive of its own notability." I'm quite confused about this whole procedure. Did the article receive an earlier warning that it has to improved or risk deletion? Why such hurry to delete it? It's not that a single from a notable music band is necessarily so hopelessly obscure that there's no way it has its place on Wikipedia. Tiv kurss (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 09:36, 11 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher) @Tiv kurss: Most songs are not notable. A song needs significant coverage in multiple independent reliable sources to demonstrate notability. Songs should only have an individual article when there is enough material to warrant a detailed article.{{R from song}} This version does not demonstrate that the song warrants an article. — JJMC89(T·C) 16:33, 11 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the explanation! Got it. I just wonder how many of, say, these songs do deserve their own articles. A quick examination shows that a fair share of these articles do not contain much information about their notability. What is the criteria based on which some articles get to stay while others are deleted in a hurry, then? Tiv kurss (talk) 14:11, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I really respect the reviewer's point of view! In most cases young companies risk closing down. However, I have seen plenty of companies, which are younger than ScholarshipOwl get featured. Case in point - GoodCall. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GoodCall. ScholarshipOwl had plenty of media mentions including ABC Televised interview and TechCrunch article. I would appreciate if you could please give a second look. Thanks!

    Thoughts?

I PROD-tagged this article and it was de-prodded. Wondering if it is AfD material (see talk page discussion). I think this guy is non-notable and self-published, but he has some minor notoriety. I think AfD is appropriate, but I really don't have a lot of energy for yet more AfD drama, so thought I'd get your take first. Here's the article: Chuck Tingle. Not necessarily requesting a re-review as none of the information has not changed, just trying to get some clarity on what criteria he doesn't meet in terms of the notability. I found dozens upon dozen of articles and radio interviews on Michael Drapac during my research, most of which were from major (and reliable) Australian and US newspapers. Many of the articles are solely about him and don't mention him as an "after-thought" or in a "trivial" way. All of the sources that were provided were secondary sources and written by people who have zero connection with him other than interviewing him for an article. He owns Australia's only Professional Cycling team and was just named co-owner of the Cannondale-Drapac Pro Cycling team, which is currently racing in the Tour de France (how I came to know about him and start researching him in the first place - huge Cannondale fan here).

Going through all of the General Notability Guidelines, I just don't see what criteria he doesn't meet. While I only provided 14 or so references (that's all I needed to build the article), there are dozens more articles about his company, cycling teams, and successes in investment/real estate and cycling.

Any further information you can provide to clarify why he doesn't meet the Notability Guidelines would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time.

I would like to know what you mean by credible news sources, because most of the sites from which my references were taken have been online delivering news and information for at least four years. And some wiki editors took down some of the references i put up while the article was pending review. I received notice regarding the potential deletion of Lace International Ltd because "Searches found nothing at all to suggest anything or enough for independent notability for its own article; nothing else convincing". Previously, one of this company's subsidiaries, Lace Mamba Global, had an article which was deleted on grounds that it was written in an advertising style. The grounds for deleting the previous article were not that there was insufficient "notability for its own article". Please clarify what qualifies for such notability. Also, "nothing else convincing" means what exactly? I would like to comply with Wikipedia's standards, but this message is vague and doesn't explain what is needed of a qualifying article. Noting that "you can address this concern by improving, copyediting, sourcing, renaming, or merging the page, please edit this page and do so" merely indicates that editing might help. It does not specify what qualifies or is needed in terms of additions or edits.

    Kyle T. Leighton

Respectfully, the subject Draft:Kyle T. Leighton (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) is a professor, author, and notable electrical industry leader as described by Siena Heights University, and the National Association of Electrical Distributors (the governing body of the electrical industry), among other sources. The subject designed an initiative about energy efficient lighting that was adopted by an entire U.S. State. He has also published at least 13 studies nationally and internationally about lighting applications in 7 different publications, and has widely distributed work independent of those pieces by other universities such as University of California, Davis about lighting laws and lighting education. Articles about his work and career have appeared in at least 8 other different reliable sources referenced in the article. He received an international award for a video that explained lighting technology. He received 2 additional awards from 2 notable institutions (1 university) about his research and commitment to lighting technology. All of these facts including the subject are about the same thing: lighting science. Criterion #7 for WP:Academic is described as a "person to have made a substantial impact outside academia in their academic capacity" and isn't defined as a single event. Other criterion of WP:Academic like #2 are in place for what you’re implying. All of the subject’s awards and facts count towards criterion 7 because criterion 7 is a criterion that has been met with totality, or in other words, “substantial”. While the interpretation of notability is broad, everyone should be able to agree that every notable impact or notable act could be recorded differently as each WP:Academic would likely be unique. It does not mean that the subject is not a notable lighting academic because someone may not be familiar with the subject or science. Evidence, and notable institutions clearly indicate that the subject is. GNG and WP:ANYBIO #2 also applies here. Looking forward to your response.Sciencegirl5858 (talk) 16:47, 25 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sciencegirl15858, let me help out here, as WP:PROF is sort of my specialty. I don't think that guideline applies to him at all. An adjunct professor is not a professor in the usual sense, he's a person teaching a course or two in a university part-time, either as a beginner, or, in this case, as someone from an outside profession or industry. In his linked bio , he is described not as a scientist or engineer, but as a professional public relations executive,"Lauded as one of the top PR professionals in the nationwide electrical industry, he has now represented 6 energy efficient commercial brands." He did not do the studies described in the article, he wrote the press releases and articles in trade magazines. His profile in tedmagazine says "Leighton has by-lined or ghost-written several articles for industry publications". Your article is carefully ambiguous about all this, and it would not have been clear if I had not actually read the references. Your statement here, is an attempt to disguise the facts of his career in the hopes of getting an article. In my opinion this is not good faith editing.
Furthermore, your user history shows you have written nothing else, yet you are familiar with the details of our rules, familiar enough find a guideline which you can use inappropriately in an attempt to justify your article. I remind you or our policy about WP:Sockpuppettry. I also remind you of our guidelines on WP:Conflict of Interest, and our Terms of Use, particularly with respect to paid contributions without disclosure. DGG ( talk ) 21:27, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
DGG He did write the studies described in the article or he wouldn't have received credit for them. Each publication cites him as the original author. The phrase "by-lined or ghostwritten several articles for industry publications" means he also authors articles and doesn't get credit for them. We don't know what those articles are. You are definitely twisting this up. There are 13 total studies cited in the article that he originally authored hence his awards and recognition for them. I'd tell you to go back and look, but you quickly deleted it before making your ignorant point and insinuating that I am a "paid editor". Might I remind you of the WP:Academic, GNG, and WP:ANYBIO. The facts are the facts.66.65.68.32 (talk) 14:50, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi SwisterTwister. I'd like to touch base about the AfC draft I submitted a few weeks ago for Rembert Browne. Since you advised against resubmitting, I haven't done so; however, I have added 14 more secondary sources to the entry, as the press continues to take note of a wide variety of Browne's writing and appearances. Consequently I believe the entry would meet the consensus for notability at AfD (per AfC reviewing instructions)--and perhaps even more importantly, I believe it also meets the criteria for WP:WHYN, that we have a large, diverse selection of reliable sources necessary to ensure we're offering readers a balanced perspective on the subject.

Still I wanted to check with you before resubmitting because if you really believe it would only waste time for me to resubmit, I'll hold off: I don't want to create unconstructive work for anyone. I only ask because, even as I realize you and I might draw the line somewhat differently on borderline cases, it really is my impression this entry is one that the present community consensus would accept. Thanks in advance for your consideration and guidance. Innisfree987 (talk) 22:04, 28 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

    Recreated article about Jason Binn

In August last year you took the article Jason Binn to AfD: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jason Binn. The article was duly deleted. Since then it has twice been re-created and re-deleted under CSD G4 (Recreation of a page that was deleted per a deletion discussion). Just over a month ago, the editor who had created the latest version posted to my talk page, objecting to the deletion, and expressing the wish to discuss it. It seems to me that the body of the article is substantially similar to the one discussed at AfD, but there are far more references, which is likely to be used as grounds for objecting to a G4 deletion. I therefore restored the article, but I am far from convinced that the new article answers the objections raised at AfD, so I am telling you in case you would like to take it to a second AfD.

Since I restored the article, the editor in question has made no attempt to initiate the discussion he said he wanted, and his only edit related to the article has been adding a photograph to it. In my opinion, the article does no more to show notability than the one discussed at AfD. It has been bombarded with large numbers of references to give the superficial impression that it is well sourced, as often happens with recreations of articles deleted for lack of evidence of notability, but most of the references do nothing or very little to indicate notability. I checked a more or less random sample of eight of the 28 references in the article. To give you an idea of the quality of the references, those eight were: one dead link; two pages not mentioning Jason Binn (one of them refers to a farm owned by "Moreton Binn", who apparently is Jason Binn's father, the other does not mention "Binn" at all); the personal page about Jason Binn on the web site of DuJour, of which he is the CEO; a page at www.etonline.com, where the only mention of Binn is a credit for a photograph on the page that he took; an announcement of launch of magazine, merely including Binn's name in a list of the owners of the magazine (and also the webstite where the announcement is made is "www.adweek.com", which may be an indication of how independent a source it is); a mere announcement of an appointment of Binn to a post; and a page about him on a website which claims to deal with "an increasingly complex marketplace" which "heightens the need for information and competitive intelligence", which to me reads very much like marketing speak for saying they provide PR. I was hoping to get some additional feedback regarding the Wikipedia entry for Peter Johnson. The entry was denied due to a lack of notability. Mr. Johnson was notoriously press-shy, preferring that the focus remained on his clients. As such, there are not an overwhelming number of articles about him. However, Johnson did represent the #1 athlete in five different sports over the course of his career (football, men's tennis, women's tennis, women's golf and boxing). The Sports Business Journal, a leading source on sports business, named Mr. Johnson the most influential agent in all of sports in 2004. Of the other nineteen sports agents who finished below Mr. Johnson that year in the agent rankings, twelve of them have individual Wikipedia entries. Multiple agents who reported to Mr. Johnson during his time at IMG have Wikipedia entries, including Tom Condon, Pat Brisson, Casey Close and Jeff Schwartz.

It is my understand that when articles such as annual "Most Powerful in Sports" list were written, Mr. Johnson asked publications to highlight agents that worked for him instead and recused himself. Given these limitations, would you be able to provide some assistance as to how I can augment Peter Johnson's entry to meet Wikipedia's notability requirements?

    Hello:

I am writing because you have blocked publication of a submission to Wikipedia. Please tell me how Wikipedia published, for example, the item https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Molly, which contains substantially less information, and substantially less citation, concerning a group of musical performers, than the article that I submitted. Thank you very much

Hello, I'm writing because as of today you put a tag on the article about Glenn S. Lipson saying the page should be deleted. He is the director at Alliant University for the forensic psychologist dept. I placed that under Notable Alumni for Alliant University as well as what he works on that they put out as Alliant Spotlights and wrote a whole summary of what he does and what he researches. I also connected under Alliant his listing as the department head and his interests and research. Each of the books listed that he contributed are text books. He writes a lot of chapters in text books that are used nationally in other universities. Any specific suggestions you can make as to showing all of this without using the PR release by Alliant University under their "spotlights" would be greatly appreciated.

I was about to begin helping with other waiting psychologists pages waiting for help that needed to be added to Wikipidia but obviously I need to learn more of what is required first. It was suggesting I not use links to his research papers because they weren't in text books and he did have chapters in multiple text books used today.

I' cross posting this on the talk page for my user page so I can get other help if you are busy this weekend.

    Many thanks.

On the article talk page I listed 6 listings for Dr. Lipson under GoogleScholar, I outlined it there in detail, would you like me to put it here as well?

I can also replace the NY Times article with a much longer one I verified again today from the the Des Moines Register paid archives that listed almost all of Dr. Lipson testimony in the defense case of Stephen Blumberg, since that is a paid archive site of newspapers.com can I substitute that for the the othee NY Times artcle.

"Permanently collected by major art museums" is not the only means for accepting worthiness or notoriety. I would view that a contribution in one of the most prestigious fashion magazines, at least for a photographer, is also a veritable claim. Chris Floyd, another British photographer has indeed managed to get a page (well one line) in Wikipedia based it seems mainly on a contribution in the Guardian and an exhibition. His notoriety may just come from the photography of famous people but gives no concept of quality (his photos are actually not bad in my view but certainly not exceptional). I am not really sure that the criteria for a photographer´s entrance into Wikipedia is really associated with a permanent presence in a museum or similar. Hi there - we exchanged messages earlier today - Sunday Australia time - about Pamela Schulz's entry. I've done some further research and found the following notability guideline for academics, on the Wikipedia:Notability (academics) page: "2. The person has received a highly prestigious academic award or honor at a national or international level." As the recipient of an OAM - listed here on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_of_Australia, Pamela Schulz has indeed been awarded an 'honour at national or international level'. I will revisit the page now to attempt to address your concern about 'advert-like' language, but otherwise, according to Wikipedia's own guidelines, it appears that Pamela Schulz is notable. I will resubmit for review shortly. Thank you for your feedback.

Hello, I am confused why having art in a major museum is a requirement for this article when there is no suggestion of the same for other artists. Under the following pages I see no mention of having works in permanent museum collections: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sama_Raena_Alshaibi https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahmad_Kanan

Abdul Rahman Katanani's work has been displayed in major art exhibitions in countries around the world, and is frequently sold in Christie's art auctions. Why is this not enough to add to wikipedia?

Musicwithoutlyrics See WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, I can easily deleted those others myself, especially if they were unreviewed (at least yours is currently being reviewed). The permanent collections would've been the best shot at accepting, because a lot of artists can be exhibited, but only a certain number can be permanently collected thus notability. I removed the CSD tag. In this case, a CSD isn't really appropriate since it has already cleared a previous AFD. More importantly, the second AFD is almost over and it surely will be deleted. This empowers admin if someone recreates it, whereas an article deleted for CSD really doesn't. They can force a prior AFD to DRV, where a CSD deleted article can simply be recreated as long as it is "different". AFD is stronger and the best option for spam articles like this. It takes longer but we have plenty of time. Farmer Brown (talk) 23:27, 31 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Following Up on 15 July 2016 Question - Michael Drapac

Just following up on my previous question on 15 July 2016 about why the page about Michael Drapac was not approved and what criteria he doesn't meet in terms of notability. More than a dozen reliable sources were provided (although there are hundreds of articles about him, I only used about 14 to write the submission). He owns two major professional cycling teams and created a multi-million investment firm that accurately predicted several international economic trends (well-documented) over the last 20 years. His developments in Australia have won several awards for sustainability and one has even been deemed "the most sustainable project ever built."

I've gone through Wikipedia's notability guidelines and just don't see how he doesn't fulfill them. I would really appreciate if you could please take a moment to address my inquiry and provide my some insight.

I have real reservations at WP:PRODing this one, so I'm reserving the right to WP:DEPROD it. The problem with this band is that the kind of publications that would have covered them will not be found online – most of the magazines on the Heavy Metal scene were published from the mid-80s through the late-90s and would not have any kind of web presence that would be searchable to this day (as such, you probably won't find much searching: I only found a very passing mention in the LA Times, though I suspect there is probably more coverage this band in the LA Times from that era that I'm simply not turning up). They may squeeze by on WP:NBAND #11, if you consider online streaming radio to qualify as "national" – Salty Dog got consistent airplay on KNAC.com for years... In any case, I really think this one justifies a full WP:AfD rather than a WP:PROD... --IJBall (contribstalk) 07:03, 2 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You stated that the subject has no chance of passing WP:N [5] but both me and the individual who nominated the page for deletion [6] both agree that the subject is notable now. [7] and [8] were the two main sources I used but there are others (see below). I just didn't include them because they weren't in English. Do you want more sources or is it simply that the subject is a no-go? IMO, his American Dream story is something that the press would pick up on. The press did pick up on it and write about it. And, because of that, he has enough coverage to meet WP:N.

    David:

As an editor all my working life, rejections are something I’m very used to. I have learned from all of them. So thank you for taking the time to review my article and respond. If I may, might I push back a bit on the comments, in the same spirit that they were made?

    1. Notability. I met the subject once when I interviewed him for an article on his America’s Cup syndicate back in the 90s, and was very impressed with him and his syndicate. The article appeared in “Great Lakes Sailor,” which, sadly, went out of business in 1992, so I have not included it in the references. (And my wife threw out all my old copies.)

David, I am assuming that you are not part of the sailing community. If you are, disregard this paragraph. The formation of an America’s Cup Syndicate, as Mr. Inglefield indicated, is analogous to an NFL franchise and is considered as such by those of us who follow sail racing. (A sport that many consider as exciting as watching paint dry.) So, to us, Inglefield is a ‘rock star.’ One of his early challenges – unnoted in the wiki article because I couldn't find any reference except my old GLS story, was getting the Great Lakes themselves legally recognized as an “arm of the sea,” which is a requirement in the deed of gift for the America’s Cup.

Inglefield has been recognized for much more than just his sailing. He served as a trustee for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society from 2004 through 2009. He was the first non-medical member of the Society’s Medical and Scientific Advisory Group, vetting all proposals for funding from cancer research institutions and individuals. The group distributes over $200 million in research dollars annually. I’m working on this section of the article now. Inglefield also was responsible for the first Leukemia Cup Sailing Regatta in Ohio (second in the country at the time) There are now more than 50 such regattas in 22 states, raising $3.8 million last year.

He is an acknowledged business success. His company is a defense contractor for the US Navy and sub contractor for companies like Raytheon and Northrup Grumman.

He is a rock and roll drummer; he began his career with Michael Stanley, a legend in Ohio. I have not been able to document any of these musical accomplishments save for a faded Cleveland Press photograph of Stanley and him in a band called the Scepters, some time in the 1960s. He still plays drums in a band today.

    2. Reliable sources. See above on the things I did not include because I did not have reliable sources. One of the things I like best about Wikipedia is the sourcing. When I read an article, understanding that anyone (including me) can write or revise, I like to go to the original source if I want verification. I’ve never been disappointed.

The nine sources I used for this article included a book by a recognized sailing expert and America’s Cup winner, and articles from the New York Times, Toledo Blade, San Francisco Chronicle, Miami Herald, and United Press International. These seem to be reliable, independent sources.

Please help me here – I think I did what was required; I think Inglefield (at least to the sailing community and US cancer community) is notable.

Thank you for the valuable input. I would like to work more on the draft and put it up for review again. I was careful with deciding which sources are reliable but I wasn't sure which pages to use. Is there a list of reliable sources in the heavy metal genre. If not, would it be okay to concentrate on online sources that have wiki pages (Like Blabbermouth, Bravewords etc.)? And if interviews are from reliable sources are they okay then? I had assumed that information directly from the person in question would be a good source. I have seen on plenty of wiki pages citations from official websites etc, also Youtube. Recreating article "Vaidyanathan Ramaswami"

Hi, Would you please take a look at this improved and substantially different new draft and consider recreating the article "Vaidyanathan Ramaswami". This article had been the subject of a discussion before here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Vaidyanathan_Ramaswami_(3rd_nomination) . As suggested during that discussion by one admin: "as still questionably better for any improvements, best deleted and restarted if better later. SwisterTwister", I have rewritten entirely the article wih better structure and referencing. It is available in my sandbox here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:RoshanKarki123/sandbox . I will be grateful if you would evaluate this draft and consider publishing it on Wikipedia. Thank you for your cooperation. RoshanKarki123 (talk) 13:22, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

    Recycle Track Systems

    Hi David,

You have rejected the draft of Recycle Track Systems for not having many sources even though they have multiple third party news sources and articles about them proving their notability, yet you still deem them not notable. What kind of articles does the company need in order to deem them notable? and why did you deem the articles used in the draft not notable?

    Hello,

I have added in-line references and new third party content to substantiate the article. I chatted with a wiki support person who said the article still does not look good to him. I'm confused how to format the article to ensure t's acceptance. I'm not an author, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm writing about your rejection of the Gulland Padfield Wikipedia article. Given that numerous companies aged around 4 years old - if not significantly younger - have expansive Wikipedia entries, your rejection of the article appears somewhat arbitrary. Gulland Padfield is one of a notable, award-winning group of consultancies - and looking at their website they advise 8 of the Top 10 banking groups worldwide, 33 of the top 50 law firms and many other huge brands. I know that its team has been together for over 14 years. And in its industry, it competes against exceptionally well established consulting brands including KPMG, Tata Consulting and others. Are we saying that Wikipedia is only there for the big guys? Or is it there for specialist, knowledgeable experts? If so, Gulland Padfield is certainly one. We should be celebrating the diversity of the kinds of company that are contributing ideas in the client focus and client experience place. I really would like to suggest you take another look at this or spell out your reasons why.

All notability criteria outlined in the Wikipedia guidelines were adhered to.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrivito

Hello Dear David, I am Dorothy, and i have created this page of "Jitendra Mishra" which you have nominated for deletion, with due respect i would like to convey few facts about him. He has already produced more that 100 films in all categories of Short, Documentaries & Feature, many of them have got universal recognition. His film 'I am Kalam' has created a history which one film is more than many normal films.Currently he is producing 3 major feature films, 2 of them have completed their shooting and 1 is on floor, due to some technical reasons the names or other details cannot be revealed on public platform now.

He is also recognized as one of the biggest promoter of Indian meaningful cinemas and currently dealing with more than 110 films for sales & distribution, to take this effort forward he has started a film festival SIFFCY in Delhi, India which showcase only value based films to children & youth, along with many workshops & activities to empower them (1st of its kind in India).

Sir, as you know many a time the newspapers only write about the Director and Actors of the films, his name is not widely covered. However there are many recent articles on him published in recent Cannes Film festival context.

We believe, this satisfy the general notability guidelines to include as Producer & Promoter. Request you to consider it and change your decision of deleting it.

    Look forward. Thanks & regards Dorothy.deb (talk) 10:05, 10 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

    Hello!

Thanks for the reviews so far.

Advice please... I've added two new citations: Irish Times (second article) + Alan Barry's own web site

At the weekend he had a feature in a well-known British newspaper, but it only went out in hard copy. Is there a way to link to hardcopy scans as citations?

Alan has had a unique life. Of particular historical interest is the fact that he is an Irishman who fought with the British Army against the Irish Republican Army.

Lastly, when all of the above is approved, will the photographs automatically sit in the middle of the text where I have placed them?

Have tried to do as much as I can without help :)

    Hi, SwisterTwister!

I've edited the last version using your comments. I'm creating this page for Farnoosh by her direction and have done some additional research to replace some of the more commercial citations. Farnoosh had been referencing Porochista Khakpour's Wikipedia page, and we believe her page might be ready for rereview. If there are any other issues, could you please assist me? It's my first time creating a Wikipedia page from draft to live, and most of the sources I had been directed to were commercial, resulting in the need for additional research/changing sources. I have worked with Farnoosh to find more credible sources and I appreciate your feedback.

    Unigma:draft

I am CorbuleacM and I've submitted draft:Unigma which you've recently rejected. I've used several independent sources - totally 10. I don't try to promote the product, actually I don't work at Unigma and I've mentioned 10 sources - 10 authors who wrote about the subject. Also, even if Unigma was launched last year it already released few services that are not too many out there as for instance the public cloud cost calculator, cloud automation etc. They also partnered with Autotask and Kaseya - famous MSP management companies. So,can you please let me know what's the real problem and let me know how can I solve it? Are there any particular sites that you consider trustworthy and those 10 I've mentioned are not among them? Is it imperative to suggest an older company? Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by CorbuleacM (talkcontribs) 14:03, 16 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

    15:03:49, 16 August 2016 review of submission by B.sinyor

I think the subject does meet the notability criteria for creative professionals, namely 'regarded as an important figure or is widely cited by peers or successors'. He is probably the most prominent editor in the UK, having edited a former Prime Minister, Secretary of State, Chairman of the Federal Reserve, a significant proportion of the most famous economists and historians of the past three decades, as well as Booker, Nobel and Pulitzer prize-winning authors. A Google Books search of his name returns over 1,200 results, which suggests a healthy number of citations. In terms of importance, he is the only publisher ever to receive the London Library Life in Literature Award, has become something of a cultural touchstone (see recent name drop[1]) and was at the centre of the most dramatic freedom of speech scandal of the past couple of decades in the UK, which is still regularly the subject of news articles[2] and parliamentary inquiries.[3] I think difficulty I'm having is conveying this notability, which is well summated in a profile from the Independent[4] and the London Library award announcement,[5] without straying to close to hagiography. Do you have any suggestions for balancing the two?

We have cited many sources, almost one per line for all the appearances she had as a child and some as an adult. Do you not think the sources are reliable? They are taken from newspapers that are largely local, but a few that are not. Plus, there is a note of her name under the list of Johnny Carson Episodes on Wikipedia.

Hi Swistertwister many thanks for taking the time to review my article. Please note, I am new to wikipedia and have now tried to provide the changes you requested. I am not jack armstrong, I named the account in this name as I didnt know any better at the time. I believe that this person needs a mention in Wikipedia due to his notoriety, fame and sudden disappearance. I believe he has earned his place in history along side his friend Andy Warhol and would really appreciate your input as to why we cant publish this article.

Please spend some time online and look through the vast information about this person, his art and accomplishments, the articles and media in isolation may not provide the credibility of a cited source however together they build up a clear and concise story or this individual, this is what I am trying to relay within the article.

His painting at this moment in time may not be collected within museums because of his work ethic, anti dealer mentality and the limit he placed upon his work on canvas. That said, it can not be argued that he made a lasting impression on the world of art.

In reference to the above kindly note the following:

references do not adequately show the subject's notability Referencing has been done in line with the wikipedia's system of reference. All the references are verifiable. significant coverage about the subject in reliable sources that are independent All references used are independent and the same and even worse references have been used in some of wikipedia's pages. We have copied the URL of one such page on similar entry, i.e., Travel Magazine at the end***. It does not include independent references and those used are very weak and less in number. We have used many independent references. However they are already on wikipedia and we are not. Reliability of the sources are very changing in nature and therefore date access has clearly been mentioned and even though the URLs are still working. there is clear evidence of why the subject is notable and worthy of inclusion This is definitely worthy of inclusion as worldwide a few English travel magazines have been able to put the distinguishable mark. We have successfully traversed a substantial path in establishing our class and credentials.

Touriosity Travelmag truly deserves to be on wikipedia. Kindly have a look at our entry in reference to our response here.

    • Paritoshnandi, the very fact that you are using 'we' in your comments discloses that you are editing as a group or on behalf of an organisation which disqualifies you from creating and/or editing this article. I have posted an appropriate message on your talk page. I'll leave the final decision to SwisterTwister, until at such times that admin intervention may be required. Safaru credit

    Safaru credit

Hi User:SwisterTwister, I have had a look on the safaru credit article that was submitted (and refused). Seems to me the author is not familiar with the subject in itself. This article should have a title related to complementary currencies in Kenya, and this subject is notable. Will Ruddick, the founder of Bangla Pesa in a Nairobi slum was heavily mediatised as he was emprisonned following the establishment of this currncy, as this wet against very powerful financial interests in the area, although he did nothing illegal and asked for all relevant permission in cooperation with Greenpeace and the national bank of kenya.

So I think the problem is the title in itself, which does not correspond to the notablitiy of the subject.

I have added a few ref for the various currencies. I think the idea was to reunite all those currrencies (you will see media coverage there) in one article - and this does make sens to cover the geographical scope of the use of such currencies.

Are the ref I submitted enough to envisage resubmitting the article, and also what title could we suggest?

    Thanks for your patience!

14:49:45, 22 August 2016 review of submission by Nsirrah

Hi SwisterTwister -- I reached consensus on the #wikipedia-en-help that this submission probably should have been accepted. You've noted:

"I would not resubmit as there's still nothing for actual independent notability."

There are cited biographies by the NYT, GQ, Ref29, Curbed, and all of the major organizations the subject has worked with are included. These don't conflict with WP:BIO1E as they aren't singly referencing the Kanye West event but instead are biographical in nature. This denotes notability almost by definition.

I was advised by the members of the talk channel to add a few more sources and resubmit. In accordance, I've added:

    • Business of Fashion Biography
    • Observer News
    • Page Six News re: the Make A Wish gala
    • Vanity Fair

    I also added:

    • Another Vogue article and another NYT article that talk about the subject/ his company in a biographical sense within event coverage
    • Another 2 NYT articles
    • A WSJ article
    • A Business Insider article

covering the subject at various events over the years

Please let me know what part of this isn't passing notability! There are years and years of more major sources that one could add to this subject. Until then, I've submitted it for re-review. In earnest, thank you! Nsirrah (talk) 14:50, 22 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I was just wondering on what constitutes independent notability and if you could point me in the direction of where this draft lacks such notability. I understand that a company profile and press releases do not determine this status. I used those sources to gather information on the topic.

However, I thought using the Frost & Sullivan, NASA, and Water Conditioning and Purification Magazine sources would satisfy the conditions for independent notability. I have read the notability for organizations and companies page thoroughly and in my opinion, which may be biased since this is my first draft, I felt they were satisfied.

For future reference, what makes these sources not satisfy the primary criteria?

Thanks for any time you take to respond to my questions. Tpalum24 (talk) 15:55, 22 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have read the wikipedia guidelines on this. On a previous submission the reviewer listed all the references that needed to be amended, citations that needed to be improved etc. I have acted on these suggestions and provided in my opionion better evidence basied documentation. Would it be possible for the similar suggestions to be applied to the recent submission as I am unclear which aspects of the article need more work. Could you please inform me as how a review of this kind could be achieved? Any assistance given will be gratefully received

11:47:08, 23 August 2016 review of submission by RK Helene

Hello David, thank you for taking the time to review my new page and for leaving a comment. You said you wouldn't resubmit the page, but I took the time to find a lot more online independent sources as you will see. I hope this is enough. I checked other organisations and I bumped into this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermo_King; it has a lot less reliable sources yet it is still on Wikipedia.

I really feel that the company has more verifiable sources now that I have added more references. Would you agree? Should it is still be insufficient, can you please advise on the number of notable independent sources that the article needs in order to get published on Wikipedia? That would be very helpful.

Thanks again for your time. It is much appreciated.

05:08:37, 24 August 2016 review of submission by Tech and business

I'm puzzled by your rejection of this article on the basis of notability.

Descartes has been the subject of numerous news articles (other than routine financial stuff) in the Canadian national press (e.g., The Globe and Mail, National Post/Financial Post, CBC), local press (e.g., Waterloo Region Record - serves the 10th largest Canadian metropolitan area, home to pop. 500,000 and hundreds of tech companies including Blackberry and OpenText), and industry publications (e.g., The Journal of Commerce), plus it has been well covered by industry analysts (e.g., Gartner, ChainLink Research). It has also been featured in articles by The Wall Street Journal and Forbes.

I would have thought The Globe and Mail's coverage of the Stevie award for best business turnaround and the National Post's profile on the company's corporate culture would be more than enough to establish notability, even if none of the other articles existed. That's why I'm scratching my head about the notability thing.

The sources I've cited in this starter article are a subset of the total I've found so far. Most of this coverage is about the company's downward spiral in the early 2000s, remarkable recovery 2004-05, acquisitions (lots of these; I've put together a pretty good list going back to 2006 - was going to add it later with references), company culture (was going to add a brief section on this, as well, since it was the topic of a profile in one of Canada's two national newspapers), and former CEO (who is notable enough to have his own Wikipedia article). All of this stuff has been covered in Canada's national media.

The Global Logistics Network, in particular, is talked about in many of the sources I've found. Another common thread running through the coverage is the "phoenix rising from the ashes" story of a homegrown company that almost failed but then unexpectedly made it big. One of the G&M articles I reference compares the company to Nortel, the Canadian tech giant that also got into trouble after the dot-com collapse but, unlike Descartes, failed - a very big deal here in Canada.

If you'll bear with me, I'd like to address some relevant Wikipedia notability criteria one at a time. I'm quoting from the Wikipedia page "Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies)".

    1. "Wikipedia bases its decision about whether an organization is notable enough to justify a separate article on the verifiable evidence that the organization or product has attracted the notice of reliable sources unrelated to the organization or product."

This company has attracted the notice of reliable sources unrelated to the organization or product.

    2. "Notability requires only that these necessary sources have been published—even if these sources are not actually listed in the article yet (though in most cases it probably would improve the article to add them)."

Sources relevant to the article's content have been cited. There are more secondary sources out there that demonstrate the company's notability.

    3. "The organization or corporation itself must have been discussed in reliable independent sources for it to be considered notable."

This criterion has been met. The Wall Street Journal, The Globe and Mail, National Post, CBC, etc.

    4. "A company, corporation, organization, school, team, religion, group, product, or service is notable if it has been the subject of significant coverage in secondary sources. Such sources must be reliable, and independent of the subject."

As mentioned above, I've found articles about Descartes by (among others): the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, The Globe and Mail, National Post/Financial Post, CBC (Canada's national broadcaster/news source), Waterloo Region Record (owned by Metroland Media, one of Canada's largest media companies; it owns dozens of newspapers in this country), The Journal of Commerce (U.S. trade journal focusing on transportation and logistics; almost 200-year publishing history), and Traffic World.

    5. "The depth of coverage of the subject by the source must be considered. If the depth of coverage is not substantial, then multiple independent sources should be cited to establish notability."

Descartes certainly does not enjoy the depth of coverage of Microsoft, for example, but I was able to find multiple sources for much of the information I included. Where possible, and where I thought it improved the article, I cited multiple sources.

    6. "The source's audience must also be considered. Evidence of significant coverage by international or national, or at least regional, media is a strong indication of notability. On the other hand, attention solely from local media, or media of limited interest and circulation, is not an indication of notability; at least one regional, statewide, provincial, national, or international source is necessary."

I have provided more than one regional, national and international source - several of each kind, in fact. These sources do not merely contain passing mentions (except the USA Today article which I used as a reliable source for where the company is based) but are either wholly or in large part dedicated to the company.

    7. "No organization is considered notable except to the extent that independent sources demonstrate that it has been noticed by people outside of the organization."

The sources cited in the article (and others not cited) demonstrate that this company has been noticed by people outside the organization. The content of the article reflects what has been said about the company by these outside sources.

    8. "There has been considerable discussion over time whether publicly traded corporations, or at least publicly traded corporations listed on major stock exchanges such as the NYSE and other comparable international stock exchanges, are inherently notable. Consensus has been that notability is not automatic in this (or any other) case. However, sufficient independent sources almost always exist for such companies, so that notability can be established using the primary criterion discussed above. Examples of such sources include independent press coverage and analyst reports. Accordingly, article authors should make sure to seek out such coverage and add references to such articles to properly establish notability.

Editors coming across an article on such a company without such references are encouraged to search (or request that others search) prior to nominating for deletion, given the very high (but not certain) likelihood that a publicly traded company is actually notable according to the primary criterion."

This company is notable according to the primary criterion and I have identified independent, reliable sources in the Canadian national and local media, the American national media, and trade publications dedicated to the transportation and logistics industries.

I can understand if you feel that I've done a poor job of describing the notable aspects of this company. The article was intended as a starting point, something to build on. Perhaps I should have included more detail or expressed the information differently. I'm open to suggestions about how to improve it. I just don't see how the company fails to meet Wikipedia's notability standards.

One more quick thing: I just discovered WikiProject Transport and WikiProject Canada. These projects seem relevant to this article.

    Draft: Pfisterer

Hi SwisterTwister, thanks for your comment on Draft: Pfisterer. But what exactly do you mean? Are there too less references? What can i do to accelerate the publication? 217.7.230.114 (talk) 12:31, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

    RE: Laurie Langford

Collections Langford’s work is in the permanent collection of the Thames Art Gallery in Chatham, Canada.

The artist's page is similar to those of: Eric Deis and Peter Flemming (as suggested by Patar knight).

    Please review. With thanks, Ghobhainn

    I've done some cleanup of the draft. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Laurie Langford is relevant. — JJMC89(T·C) 16:45, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello SwisterTwister, thank you for your reviewing my article :-) I am disappointed that my article was not accepted. I have been working in the Austrian startup scene for quite some time and consider Mr. Kohansal to be a relevant personality in this industry. What I have understood from the review is that I did not include reliable sources, is that right? If so, then I would like to add the following:

Wish you the best, Sabica Meier

    AnnualGeneral/Stonestreet Farm Citations

Hello David, I've gone ahead and updated the citations to a single reference directly to the horse search page of the equibase.com website. I was unable to direct to the specific horse page without having multiple separate URL's. Appreciate your help navigating the COI AnnualGeneral (talk) 19:08, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

    Jimmy Lifton

What is not notable? I included links to as much as I could find online including actual articles from 1980's and from the 1980's Billboard Magazine. I also included links to the emmy awards actual pages that show him being nominated for awards and winning Daytime Emmy awards. You even have articles on wikipedia that reference him and linked the page to all those references. I really don't understand why at this point the page is not accepted. There are many pages on wikipedia that are way less referenced and sourced and still accepted but have a disclaimer on top that a lot of the information is poorly sourced and encourages people to edit it. Why can't you do the same thing here if you think there are issues? Everything is correct and written very factually and both referenced and sourced properly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chadwick Berk (talkcontribs) 19:44, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Chadwick Berk Using WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, not all articles in current existence are actually acceptable because they were often not reviewed like yours. Therefore, please give me the links and names for those other articles and I will examine them. As for your Draft, I am now noticing the listed awards thus I will accept. Yes I see Chadwick Berk, but I would seriously like to examine these other articles if you have them, since you said "There are many pages on wikipedia that are way less referenced and sourced and still accepted but have a disclaimer on top that a lot of the information is poorly sourced and encourages people to edit it", so I would appreciate if you mention them. For sure. So if you see those links I sent for the exception of the last two those are the wiki pages. Now that this page is accepted can you please approve the page titled Jimmy Lifton filmography. Thank you very much!Chadwick Berk (talk) 20:32, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
