Trần Ngọc Lan Khuê (born on 4 January 1992) is a Vietnamese actress, supermodel and beauty queen.
Early life
Lan Khuê was born on 4 January 1992 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She grew up in an intellectually inclined family. Both of her parents work as lecturers at Ho Chi Minh City Pedagogical University. Her paternal grandfather is Associate Professor Trần Thanh Đạm, who is a former president of Ho Chi Minh City Pedagogical University. Also, her paternal aunt is a lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Education
Lan Khuê studied German language at Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Career
Modeling
Lan Khuê first started her modeling career in 2011, at the age of 19 with an invitation from her mother's friend. She applied for Vietnam Super Model 2011, but was soon rejected after failing on the catwalk runway. A year later, Lan Khuê reapplied for Vietnam Super Model 2012 and was awarded the title of Potential Model. In the same year, she won the bronze cup at the 7th Asian Supermodel Contest 2012 in Nanning, China[2]. Lan Khuê contested at Vietnam Super Model 2013, for the second time, and eventually obtained the gold award[3]
Pageantry
Lan Khuê participated in Miss World Vietnam 2014 (also known as Miss Ao Dai) and defeated 11 other contestants in the final round. She was crowned Miss World Vietnam 2014 by Miss World 2011 Ivian Sarcos on 5 January 2015 in Ho Chi Minh City. Afterwards, Lan Khuê represented Vietnam at the Miss World 2015 beauty pageant in Sanya, China. She got into top 11 semi-finalist contestants after winning the People's Choice Award[4].
Film and television appearances
She served alongside Hồ Ngọc Hà and Phạm Hương as a supermodel coach for The Face Vietnam Season 1.[5]
