Biography

Nicola Cirillo was born in Naples, Italy in 1644.[1] On 13 Jan 1681, he was appointed during the papacy of Pope Innocent XI as Bishop of Conversano.[1] On 26 Jan 1681, he was consecrated bishop by Alessandro Crescenzi (cardinal), Bishop of Recanati e Loreto, with Pier Antonio Capobianco, Bishop Emeritus of Lacedonia, and Antonio Savo de' Panicoli, Bishop of Termoli, serving as co-consecrators.[1] On 18 Apr 1701, he was appointed during the papacy of Pope Clement XI as Archbishop of Cosenza.[1] He served as Archbishop of Cosenza until his death on 4 Jun 1725.[1] While bishop, he was the principal co-consecrator of Nicola Cirillo, Bishop of Nicastro (1692).[1]
