John Love ( –19 June 2016) was a pioneer in the field of fibre optics,[1] who co-authoring the influential book Optical Waveguide Theory.[2] He studied at the University of Cambridge and University of Oxford, was a postdoc in San Diego and Toronto, before moving to Australia in 1973.[2][1]
As an Emeritus Professor of Australian National University (ANU) he helped create the Wanda Henry Scholarship in Photonics.[2][3]
