Cleanup

Several things. We need more citations, and preferably some inline ones. Also there are some problems with the sentence grammar. Does anyone see a need to keep "All the prisoners were condemned to silence and their guards informed that they tend to be habitual liars about Madame de Montespan." Also, " It is noted, that in January 1687, the women at Belle-Île-en-Mer were granted the use of braziers in midwinter." doesn't seem so useful. Thoughts?
