Nollywood

Charles Uwagbai is one of the leading figures in new Nollywood (a new standard in Nollywood which places emphasis on remarkable storyline, production quality, top-tier acts and equipment). Amongst movies he produced and directed, Okoro ‘The Prince’, The Black Silhouette and Breathless have earned loads of recognition. Okoro ‘The Prince’ movie was nominated for several categories at the AMAA and ZAFAA awards and won Best Actor at the ZAFAA Awards in London The Black Silhouette got nomination for GIAMA Awards in Houston , USA , BON Awards it won an award for Best Actress at the GIAMA USA and Best Child actor at the BON Awards. Breathless bagged three nominations. This include a nomination at the fifth Annual Nollywood and African Films Critics' Awards (NAFCA) also known as the African Oscars, with Mike Ezuruonye being nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance in the classic movie. Breathless, through Mike Ezuruonye’s role, got a nomination for Best Actor Drama (TV/Series) at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), while Nwachukwu, was nominated for the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. He also produced and directed films Bro Jekwu (Shot in Nigeria, Kenya & Tanzania), and Just Drive.
