Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the present Minister of Disaster Management and Relief. He has also the former general secretary of the city Awami League.[1][2] Currently he is on the Advisory council of South Dhaka city Awami league.[3] He was sentenced to 13 years in jail on corruption charges in 2008 which was upheld by the supreme court of Bangladesh in 2016.[4]

His son-in-law Lieutenant Colonel (Retd.) Tareque Saeed has been indicted in the sensational Narayanganj Seven Murder case.[5]
