I wanted to explain in brief why I removed Muhammad al-Durrah controversy. Granted, this article says that scandals can be accidental or intentional, but in a "See also" crammed with entries intentional, deliberate misrepresentations or whole cloth fabrications, I don't think this "fits" with the other links. The sub=article has regretfully been deleted due to a lack of sourcing. hbdragon88 (talk) 02:26, 30 August 2012 (UTC) |

Honestly surprised this article has not made much progress in 10+ years, however it is still highly-relevant and topical; do not see any alternate articles which really cover the same areas either- for example Journalism ethics; therefore, removed Proposed_deletion tag; will look to start improvements on it soon... Moving of lists to summary style
Moved the US scandals to a separate article Purported United States journalism scandals, to allow the main article's US-centric problems and dominance by a list, to be fixed. Planning to expand this article over the next few days; hopefully the list will also receive attention too. FT2 (Talk | email) 18:24, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
I've tried to establish the page as an encyclopedia article on the topic "journalistic/ism scandal/s", which is the subject and title. I'm no expert, but I have a fair idea what topics might be worth covering and have set up empty sections for them.
Collaboration sought to fill them :)
None of the previous version is lost or damaged; the long list of cases are moved to a US-specific sub-article, which will allow this page to cover the topic generally, and also have more rounded geographical balance. FT2 (Talk | email) 18:54, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
Summary style now list style
Purported United States journalism scandals was changed to United States journalism scandals, and then to List of United States journalism scandals (per an AfD that included FT2's suggestions). It is now a simplified list of wiki-linked scandals. --Matt Lewis (talk) 13:59, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Moving related scandal discussion to new archive
I'm archiving the specific-scandal discussions here under an identifiable List of United States journalism scandals archive (or other, for any US-scandals). --Matt Lewis (talk) 13:59, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Scandal lists by country - please add scandal links to the relevant lists
I've changed the heading here as it better suits the list format of "List of United States journalism scandals. Please add new scandal links to the relevant country lists under here. --Matt Lewis (talk) 13:49, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
al-Durrah
I wanted to explain in brief why I removed Muhammad al-Durrah controversy. Granted, this article says that scandals can be accidental or intentional, but in a "See also" crammed with entries intentional, deliberate misrepresentations or whole cloth fabrications, I don't think this "fits" with the other links. The sub=article has regretfully been deleted due to a lack of sourcing. hbdragon88 (talk) 02:26, 30 August 2012 (UTC)
- I would get rid of the WHOLE see also section, but thats me. --Mollskman (talk) 12:29, 30 August 2012 (UTC)
Proposed Deletion-counter
Honestly surprised this article has not made much progress in 10+ years, however it is still highly-relevant and topical; do not see any alternate articles which really cover the same areas either- for example Journalism ethics; therefore, removed Proposed_deletion tag; will look to start improvements on it soon...
