In response to Rcarlton98, I agree on all of your points. Adding a characters list will shorten the synopsis. In regards to the motifs section, it is not yet completed. Coming soon! It is my full intention to add additional themes. More will be added by the end of the week. Your feedback is appreciated, thank you! I have slightly changed the Synopsis. I took out a few sentences that I found to be unnecessary, edited words that I felt were bias, and added some information I felt was missing. I am planning to edit this section more later because I do not feel as if it is complete. Additionally, I added the characters header to the article. However, I did not have time to actually list out all of the characters yet. I am hoping to get that section done some time next week.

In response to Morenoj, I am glad to see all of the edits you have done so far. I am looking forward to continuing to work on this article with you! [[User:Rcarlton98|Rcarlton98]] ([[User talk:Rcarlton98|talk]]) 01:14, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Tasks you can do:

Here are some open tasks for WikiProject Children's literature, an attempt to create and standardize articles related to children's literature. Feel free to help with any of the following tasks.

Things you can do

Motifs

I added an entry regarding motifs in the short story, The Juniper Tree. The themes I added included cannibalism and the parallel between food and death. Citations were added. Morenoj (talk) 20:58, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bibliography Suggestions

I suggest adding the following scholarly sources to the article: The Fairy Tale: An Introduction to Literature and the Creative Process by Roberta Hoffman Markman, A Literary Approach to the Brothers Grimm by Alfred David and Mary Elizabeth David, and The Contamination of the Fairy Tale, or The Changing Nature of the Grimms' Fairy Tales by Jack Zipes Rcarlton98 (talk) 21:17, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions for improvement

I have three main suggestions in order to improve the article. First off, I think that the synopsis needs to be shortened. The length it is now serves more as a Sparknotes page than a summary on Wikipedia. Secondly, I like what you did, Jonathan, in regards to adding the Motifs sections. However, I believe this section can be expanded. Lastly, I think that we should add a section for describing individually characters. That way the synopsis does not need to waste time explaining the characters. Rcarlton98 (talk) 21:28, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Additional sources and response to previous comment

I will add the following scholarly sources to the article:

In response to Rcarlton98, I agree on all of your points. Adding a characters list will shorten the synopsis. In regards to the motifs section, it is not yet completed. Coming soon! It is my full intention to add additional themes. More will be added by the end of the week. Your feedback is appreciated, thank you! Morenoj (talk) 21:59, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
