Extended confirmed protection
Hello, Yamaguchi先生. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy.
Extended confirmed protection (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas.
In July and August 2016, a request for comment established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:
- Extended confirmed protection may only be used in cases where semi-protection has proven ineffective. It should not be used as a first resort.
- A bot will post a notification at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard of each use. MusikBot currently does this by updating a report, which is transcluded onto the noticeboard.
Please review the protection policy carefully before using this new level of protection on pages. Thank you.
This message was sent to the administrators' mass message list. To opt-out of future messages, please remove yourself from the list. 17:49, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

Why did you reverse my edits on 'Big H'? I added his aliases which are completely correct. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.27.225.34 (talk) 22:10, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

Here is the source. Can I put it back? (24.157.56.12 (talk) 21:00, 23 September 2016 (UTC))
- Provided that the source is reliable, that would be fine. For further assistance on this matter, please review Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources. Regards, Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 21:24, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
Thapa Kaazi
Why did you reversed my edits on "Bahun"?? I gave a reference website www.karma99.com for it. It is not unsourced and it is by far the most widely circulated stories from Nepal on Bahun peoples. Also I gave you reference website there and you are threatening me to block??? Whats this?? From Thapa Kaazi999 Thapa Kazi999 (talk) 06:08, 24 September 2016 (UTC)
Plus Mr. YAMAGUCHI, you always need a Nepali to edit and write on Nepal and Nepali things. Thapa Kazi999 (talk) 06:10, 24 September 2016 (UTC)
- That would be incorrect, and the source you are referring to fails to meet our criteria for Wikipedia:Verifiability as it is a blog. Please refrain from using it in the future. Regards, Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 19:44, 28 September 2016 (UTC)
What if there are no other source than a blog??? So is the condition here. Only blogs kept infos. And just like the Sun does not need to prove its hot, some stories does not need evidence to prove its true. Thapa Kazi999 (talk) 03:01, 13 October 2016 (UTC)
And plz undo the changes you did in page Chhetri, I had added some pictures and others to make it more easier. Thapa Kazi999 (talk) 03:03, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

Adventure Time (season 7)
Thanks for protecting the page. I had a quick question. Over the last few days, I have been adding/enlarging plot summaries for the episodes on the page (here are some examples). I'd like to think that my work has been productive (I've been working on this page for over a year), but since the edit war, I can't access the page for editing. As such, if I were to enlarge the plot summaries, would I need to submit what I wanted to add to admins for addition, or should I just wait two weeks? Thanks.--Gen. Quon (Talk) 13:23, 28 September 2016 (UTC)
- Hello Gen. Quon, thank you for contacting me. For the duration of the protection period, you may submit an edit request via the talk page using the {{edit request}} template, or if you wish you may wait for the protection to expire. Regards, Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 19:30, 28 September 2016 (UTC)
- Since the user who was causing the trouble got banned, would it be possible to lower the protection on this page just a little, from full protection to extended confirmed protection? The same was done with List of Adventure Time episodes. Thanks!--Gen. Quon (Talk) 21:03, 28 September 2016 (UTC)

About Prabhas
I'm sorry. I understand what are you trying to say, again I will not change anything without reliable sources in Prabhas article. But whatever I change it's completely true but I don't have proper sources so you're absolutely right. Thanks.
Mumtaz (actress)
Wonder why you have deleted the details about Mumtaz? They are all correct, as I have been following her for last 45 years. Moreover, all this information is already available on various links on her. I am, therefore, restoring the deleted information. Juhi47 (talk) 09:14, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
Is it required to verify each fact only through some internet link? Whether what I know as a result of interaction with her and her daughter wouldn't prove anything? Moreover, there a recent interaction with her brother conducted by a national daily newspaper. (http://daily.bhaskar.com/news/ENT-BOW-mumtaz-birthday-5384944-PHO.html)
Please let me know as to how can I authenticate the information about her.Juhi47 (talk) 11:21, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
Hi, it's a bit too unfair.... you remove my edit in a few hours, but don't respond to my messages even after 10 days! Juhi47 (talk), 07:18, 15 October 2016 (UTC)
Still there's no response from you... Please let me know to which particular information you have objection... Maybe, there's none and I should undo the edit yet again. Juhi47 (talk) 10:02, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
Hi, I have reverted the changes, as you have not indicated any objection for the information that was removed, even after a fortnight of my initial request, and repeated reminders. From my personal knowledge and from the information already available on various sites, I know that all of it is correct. Juhi47 (talk) 12:15, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
Now that's real 'quick'! Somehow you did not choose to respond to my mails for a fortnight, but undid the change so quickly... Wonder whether if that's not grossly unjust, then what exactly is? Anyway, wonder as to how you would consider the information referenced? When Mumtaz was active in Hindi Cinema, Internet was unheard of. So, whatever critical information about her professional life is available, is actually in print media. Transcripts of some of the articles are available at www.angelfire.com/celeb/mumtaz/articles.html. Other sources are the sites which have been created with memories of various persons following her life; her interviews; or information from her family members, etc. However the information exchanged in communications would hardly be available in print. It's not only impossible but also unethical to record the conversations. Hence, there would a large amount of information which cannot be cross-referenced tangibly. Anyway, let's have look at a single article where every word, every phrase, every sentence, and every para is cross-referenced! If you are unsure of something and don't believe others who have added that information, it would be prudent to ask other Indian moderators who might have been following her life. Strangely, the information that you have deleted is also not un-referenced?! Nor is it controversial! So, could you please let me know exactly as to what you want me to 'prove'? Selective reversions
On 19/07/2016 someone (who obviously had registered only for the purpose) made an unsourced change to Turkish months and introduced the error that the names of Aramaic origin (thru Arabic) were borrowed from Hebrew. That unsourced edit (which introduced an error) was allowed to stand. The article was substantially correct before. Now when someone tried to correct that you reverted them on the grounds that that was an unsourced change. So you allow unsourced edits to stand when you like them and revert them when you don't? Why did you delete Emi Green? You created an article about a single song by Beetles but delete an article about a singer who's well known and has been featured in movies? Who are you? Why are you so disrespectful of other's work? User:Matthewcarleton214
Hi Yamaguchi先生, I want to let you know about User:Matthewcarleton214 who appears to be the same editor as one you previously banned: User:Mattcarleton214. The edits are to more or less the same articles for both accounts. The edits by Matthewcarleton214 have included a number of population changes to towns in County Leitrim, which have been unsupported and are subtle enough to slip by. However one of the account's recent edits, this page move, is more worrisome. In fairness to the user(s), some harmless edits have been made, but typically without explanation. Hoping you might be able to help as this is now a bit beyond me. Thanks, Declan Declangi (talk) 21:11, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
- Hello again and many thanks for your block and reversions of recent edits from this user. Unfortunately, there is still at least one remaining issue: that the mainspace article "R280 road (Ireland)" was moved by this user to Talk:N64 road (Ireland). I think undoing this move requires administrator intervention due to new blocking redirects and to retain edit histories. Thanks again, Declangi (talk) 22:54, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
- Many thanks for untangling the R280 mess. All looks great now. Declangi (talk) 01:10, 1 November 2016 (UTC)

Two-Factor Authentication now available for admins
Hello,
Please note that TOTP based two-factor authentication is now available for all administrators. In light of the recent compromised accounts, you are encouraged to add this additional layer of security to your account. It may be enabled on your preferences page in the "User profile" tab under the "Basic information" section. For basic instructions on how to enable two-factor authentication, please see the developing help page for additional information. Important: Be sure to record the two-factor authentication key and the single use keys. If you lose your two factor authentication and do not have the keys, it's possible that your account will not be recoverable. Furthermore, you are encouraged to utilize a unique password and two-factor authentication for the email account associated with your Wikimedia account. This measure will assist in safeguarding your account from malicious password resets. Comments, questions, and concerns may be directed to the thread on the administrators' noticeboard. A new user right for New Page Patrollers
Hi Yamaguchi先生.
A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right.
It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However, due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here but very often a friendly custom message works best.
If you have any questions about this user right, don't hesitate to join us at WT:NPR. (Sent to all admins).MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:48, 15 November 2016 (UTC)

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
Hello, Yamaguchi先生. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
