Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum C-Class
I requested a copyedit for the article Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and was wondering you could check it against the C-Class criteria please? You were recommend by User:Alexandermcnabb after I initially asked him. He also said that he'd personally go for a B-Class, so just do whatever you feel is right. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 12:18, 14 November 2016 (UTC)
- Comment. User:Mr rnddude believes it fails to satisfy the B1 criterion, so perhaps just checking it against the C-Class criteria is best. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 12:25, 14 November 2016 (UTC)

Editing "Curtis Stone".
Hello Materialscientist. I indeed added his appearance in Masterchef Australia. This episode was broadcasted here in the Netherlands yesterday. The link I provided as reference was the wiki-page of Masterchef Australia. There he's mentioned twice: "Guest Chefs" > "California Week" and "Episodes and ratings" > "55/11-5 Thursday, 14 July 2016" I thought it would be clear enough (because there're also the references). Was I wrong with this? Eddydevries (talk) 08:47, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
A new user right for New Page Patrollers
Hi Materialscientist.
A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right.
It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However, due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here but very often a friendly custom message works best.
If you have any questions about this user right, don't hesitate to join us at WT:NPR. (Sent to all admins).MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:47, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
Peter Bart
Hello Materialscientist,
Thank you for watching over the Wiki page for Peter Bart! My name is Michael Mason and I am Peter Bart's Social Media Director. He messaged me yesterday saying that his Wiki page was inaccurate and asked me if I could update it with his bio. Unfortunately as his bio came directly from him and as such I have no source besides Peter himself. We can back parts of it up with references but some things like his personal life we have no references for. We are willing to provide any evidence that you would need that the bio came from Peter. Please let me know. Thank you!
Dimitri Smirnoff
Dimitri Smirnoff was nmarried to my mother, whom I cite in my edits; the article was written by an amateur with citsations that are not from the professional opera literature. I am the owner of thef Dimitri Smirnoff archives. The name is an incorrect transliteration of the Russian. Do you speak Russian? I do and have published in the field. I am not certain why you are taking it upon yourself to edit my edits when you are clearly not an expert in the field. Perhaps I can provide you with a referral for a job as a translator from Russian to English, specifically of the book: S.G.Isakov, Charodei Zvuka, Singer Dimitri Smirnoff, Estonia, Aleksandra Publisher Nelly Melts, Box 445 Tallinn 10101 Estonia email: nmelts@hot.ee Publisher: AO Kommunalproekt tel: 6411683

Eva Marie's Inactivity over 30 days from WWE
Dear Sir,
Eva Marie(Real name Natalie Marie Coyle) Who got suspended on august 18 2016 from WWE I've simply mentioned that after her suspension she's currently inactive because she is filming a movie Inconceivable 2017. none of the user or editer mentioned on her page on the section "Other Media" and "Professional Wrestling Career".
Tyson Kidd a.k.a Theodore James Wilson
I know the reason why Tyson denies to be in Season 6 of Total Divas. as he is curently inactive from WWE due to spinal injury. Spinal injury maybe the reason of this.

"The South African common name is shongololo, from the Zulu and Xhosa, ukushonga, to roll up." This is referenced on the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_South_African_English_regionalisms. Apart from that, I can attest that the word is in common usage here in South Africa.

Dover, TN
Not sure what kind of source citation you want for the information that I added about my hometown. It is a simple fact that there is not a hospital in Dover, Tn. I know the urgent care is there because I see it as I drive by every day. I did a yellowpages.com search and referenced the search page showing that there is no hospital referenced in Dover. I repeated this for the urgent care. Dover is a small town and has no books or magazines that have this information presently published.
DYK update failed again
Materialscientist, DYKUpdateBot seems to be down again today, despite Shubinator having restarted it early on November 16. Do you think you could do a manual update? The queue that needs to be promoted is Queue 2. Many thanks. (Note: I did post on Shubinator's page a couple of minutes ago, so there is the tiniest chance that he's been able to kick the bot back into life, but as he isn't on very often, the odds are against it. You may still want to check before starting the update.) BlueMoonset (talk) 00:48, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
Article that it was just trying to make it perfect but you had to changed it and delete the things I'd really like?
Why did you deleted the "Category:Meat" for "seafood"? You like to make things so it is not perfect anymore. It is very, very odd there is not a "Category:Meat" for "seafood". However, why there is a "Category:Meat" for "Category:Seafood"? There is defentely a "Category:Meat" for "beef", "poultry", and "pork", but not "seafood"? Also, there is defentely a "Category:Meat" for "Category:Beef", "Category:Poultry", and "Category:Pork"?
- Seafood is not only meat, but also seaweed and alike. Materialscientist (talk) 11:38, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
Can you please stop deleting the "Category:Meat" for "seafood".
- None of the pages in Category:Seafood seem to be related to seaweed, though. Not owning a restaurant, I would be surprised to order seafood stew and get a bowl of seaweed. Gah4 (talk) 16:11, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) But you might get dolphins, turtles, sea squirts, spoon worms, lancelets or frogs, of course. Martinevans123 (talk) 16:30, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
- I never knew about {{tps}} before. It isn't intentional. If I have a talk page discussion with someone, in their talk page, I add to my watch list. I am not so good at removing things from my watch list. It is pretty rare that I comment on them. Gah4 (talk) 16:47, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

- Hi Materialscientist. I've been noticing several bizarrely long and sometimes flowery usernames pop up in Special:Log/newusers, for instance, I love the smell of fresh socks in the morning, as well as the ones Cahk mentioned, and agree it seems to be related to the sockfarm you recently blocked. I think I have a good idea what their target is too. This person creates dozens and dozens of sock accounts, then squirrels them away to be used later, when they will make enough dummy edits to become autoconfirmed in order to harass a certain user. When you get the chance, could you please check for more? Thanks. Sro23 (talk) 15:39, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

Psychological resilience
https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Psychological_resilience&diff=750377898&oldid=750377255 is there a reason doing this, because all this does is adding new information to lead when it is required much below as before. ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
Hello, Materialscientist. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
Electrospinning
Hi Glad to see someone is patrolling changes. My apologies for not leaving a better explanation of my changes. I usually do. Anyway, I was trying to clean up the Medical Uses section of the electrospinning page. There was a large section on "Endogenous Tissue Growth" shoehorned in the middle that has been copied verbatim from another online source and has only passing relevance to electrospinning. Further, that section on ETG broke up the section list of Medical Use topics into two lists which were at least partially redundant. Lastly, ETG is part of Tissue Engineering, and doesn't need its own additional bolded topic.
My edits were to fix both of those problems. As it stands now, that subsection is a complete mess.

Dear Materialscientist,
Thank you for doing such a high quality job and doing it so promptly as I recently made my edits a few hours ago. Great to know there is someone watching out over the validity of information.
That being said, I made the changes about my own behalf to further refine and build upon my Wikipedia page - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felix_Gelt
Note that the Canadian Maccabi Soccer Association originally created this profile.
I would kindly ask that you revert the changes back to the updates made and notify upon this adjustment.
If you require further confirmation that I am the real Felix Gelt as the citation source, then I'm willing to do so. Please advise how you would like me to prove this to you.
For example, here is my LinkedIn page that is private - http://ca.linkedin.com/in/felixgelt/. This link is not available to the public and you will see that I have referenced playing for UBC Varsity soccer as per the updates made today on Wikipedia.
Thank you and kind regards, Felix 104.242.9.72 (talk) 01:14, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
Some help
Hi Materialscientist, can you assist with Fascist Destroyer (talk · contribs)? Thanks, 2601:188:1:AEA0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 05:05, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
Hey there,
I found it odd that you decided to override my decision to decline three separate reports on this page [3] [4] [5]. None of the three I declined had committed vandalism past their final warning, and they ranged from 6-17 hours of inactivity - I'm just getting back to things after a very long Wikibreak, but blocking under these circumstances would definitely have been a no-no in my heyday. Unless things have changed, blocking is supposed to be preventative, not punitive, and blocking for edits that are many hours old and not past a final warning does not seem very preventative to me. I'm particularly concerned that it sends the wrong message as I already declined the reports, and you overrode my decisions without any communication as to why. Would you care to let me in on your thought process here? VegaDark (talk) 05:52, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
- Blocking 203.134.3.50 (talk · contribs) was indeed not necessary ("stale IP"). The other two IPs had a past history of vandalism, that is, the concept of "stale IP" did not apply. Those two blocks are not punitive, but preventative, as there is ample evidence to suggest that someone will vandalize from those shared IPs in the future. Those blocks mean no disrespect to your evaluation whatsoever. I'll tell more about my AIV habits and philosophy if needed. Regards. Materialscientist (talk) 06:04, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I am glad someone was helping with the backlog, it just was a little annoying that I spent time looking at the contribs, comparing them to when the last warning was, writing out an explanation to the user who reported why I declined, only for that effort to be for naught. But I'll keep the stale IP idea in mind in the future. VegaDark (talk) 06:15, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
- I know what you mean, but the "last warning" and "final warning" arguments are tricky, especially nowadays, when vandalism is still high and the number of blocking admins is falling every month. AIV is often backlogged due to the low quality of reports and admin inactivity, thus, frankly, I'm happy every time I see admins blocking and replying to reports there. I'm a bit concerned because one of the phone numbers in the edit summary appears to be the phone number for a physician's office (the 610 number.) Not sure if we can remove the edit summaries - note that Appalachian State University has been vandalized before with this same edit summary/content in the past few weeks. --Mr. Vernon (talk) 06:53, 23 November 2016 (UTC)

Reverted change
Hi - I see you recently reverted a change by another user on the Elsevier page. The content that they added looked accurate to me and gave a good summary of the transformation away from traditional publishing that Elsevier are currently undergoing (I work at Elsevier's parent company, so keep an eye on this page and often suggest changes if we can help improve the content). Was the issue just that they didn't provide any sources, or was it something else? Thanks Ryoba (talk) 14:35, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, lack of references was the reason for my revert. Materialscientist (talk) 22:28, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
Hi Materialscientist, would you please take a look at account User:ThunderFan109 - it claims to be a new account of someone you blocked for sock puppeting, and is asking for early confirmation over at WP:PERM. Thank you, — xaosflux Talk 05:20, 24 November 2016 (UTC)
- Note, that other account is also globally locked. — xaosflux Talk 05:21, 24 November 2016 (UTC)

answer to "Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Fluid have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like..."
Depending on the scales, a material can appear as a fluid or as a slurry like, for example, blood, milk or resins. In a certain volume bigger than 1mm3, it can be considered as a fluid but in smaller ones, especially close to edges, in smears or filtrations, the substance can change of properties. Cells that are present in suspension are bigger than 1micrometer and they break the continuous deformation of the substence at this scale. For example, blood separates into a plug and sheath flow as showed by [2]. In centrifugation, as well, there is a separation : with milk we can make cream and butter. Blood centrifugation is a separation process. At rest, blood sedimentates. A fluid does not separate, does not sedimentate.
I think it is very constructive because in medical area for example, people reading wikipedia my think blood is a fluid but blood does not a viscsoity as fluids and blood motion is not as for a fluid.
So I think it is very important for the students to know that a fluid is absolutely made of continuous atomic and molecular bonds like water. The consequences of thaking blood as fluid is that there are many publications that are wrong. The Doppler analysis, the viscosity diagrams and the velocity profiles are badly aproached with a lot of errors.
So, that is why i think it is constructive.
Change to Steve Carter Wikipedia page
Good morning!
Thank you for reaching out to me concerning the entry to the Steve Carter Wikipedia page. I'm so sorry I'm new to doing this and didn't understand the rules (and admittingly had not reviewed them properly) and didn't realize the notifications in my message center were from you about the changes.
So what I need to do is to cite news articles or other verifiable sources etc to validate the statements correct?
Thank you so much for your patience with me and have a wonderful day.Belle1155 (talk) 14:15, 24 November 2016 (UTC)
