The 2017 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship is an association football tournament scheduled to take place in Costa Rica in February and March 2017.[1]
It will determine the four CONCACAF teams that will participate at the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup in South Korea.
The tournament may also be used to determine which Caribbean nations participate in the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games.

- Notes
- ^ On 28 October 2016, FIFA suspended the National Football Federation of Guatemala for political interference by the Government of Guatemala. Until the suspension is lifted, Guatemalan teams are not permitted to participate in international competitions.[2] CONCACAF has set the deadline of 20 November 2016 for the suspension to be lifted, otherwise by rule, Guatemala would be disqualified from the 2017 CONCACAF U-20 Championship, and any replacement team or revision to the tournament format would be discussed once the deadline is passed.[3] On 22 November, CONCACAF announced that Panama would take the place of Guatemala.[4]

Draw
The draw will take place on November 29, 2016 at 6:00 local time (7:00 pm ET) at El Cubo, National Stadium, San Jose, Costa Rica, and will be streamed live via CONCACAF.com.[4]
Different from previous tournaments, the 12 teams will be drawn into three groups of four teams. The hosts Costa Rica, and Mexico and the United States, which are the two teams with the best results in recent under-20 championships using a co-efficient developed by CONCACAF, will be seeded into each of the three groups. The remaining nine teams will be drawn into the three groups using a pre-defined procedure designed to ensure balanced and competitive groups weighted equally by region.[4]
