Anya Schiffrin, adjunct professor and co-director of the International Media and Communications (IMC) program at Columbia University, teaches Topics in International Business and Economic Reporting. A former Knight-Bagehot Fellow, Schiffrin has 10 years of experience as a business journalist. She was editor-in-chief of the Istanbul-based daily The Turkish Times, a stringer for Reuters in Barcelona, senior financial writer at the Industry Standard in New York and bureau chief for Dow Jones Newswires in Amsterdam and Hanoi. She has also contributed to a wide variety of other publications. Schiffrin is currently the director of journalism training programs at the Initiative for Policy Dialogue, an international network of economists based at Columbia University, and has established the website www.journalismtraining.net.
