Bullying Edit War committed by editor Jonathunder
Jonathunder is engaging in an obvious edit-war by reverting and removing material I put on the Talk pages of Merrick Garland and Merrick Garland SUpreme Court Nomination. He is trying to avoid the development of a consensus that reference to withdrawing the nomination of Garland is being made by reliable sources in the news media. I will be adding such references shortly, but I wanted to establish the propriety of doing so. Thugs like Jonathunder and Neutrality have decided to try to prevent me from doing so, and thus obstructing the discussion. 75.175.105.188 (talk) 22:40, 4 May 2016 (UTC)
- Hello 75.175.105.188. Although I think deletion of your comments might have been a little heavy-handed, Jonathunder and Neutrality are correct that the sort of comment you put on Talk:Merrick Garland does not belong there. Please review our policy WP:NOTFORUM: Article talk pages are not a forum for discussion of the subjects of articles, they are for discussion of the articles themselves. Your original comment appeared to have nothing to do with our article. If you want to discuss content or sources you want included in the article, then by all means discuss it by writing something like, "What do people think about adding X to the article?" Of course, we need to adhere to other policies and guidelines, such as WP:V and WP:AGF. --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 22:50, 4 May 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Arthur Llewllyn Williams
The article Arthur Llewllyn Williams has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Appears not to meet notability criteria. Google only lists him as having existed as a bishop
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Dubbinu | t | c 14:52, 9 May 2016 (UTC)

DYK for Larson's Hunters Resort
On 11 May 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Larson's Hunters Resort, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that the Swedish immigrants who built Larson's Hunters Resort on the western border of Minnesota initially lived in a dugout? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Larson's Hunters Resort. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

I wish I saw your post before I finished. What I'm doing is making the pages consistent as with the other US cathedral wiki pages which have the cathedral names along with their location.

SW MN road trip
I skipped the Jacob Nuffer Farmstead on my 2012 pass through Rock County merely because I deemed it too far off my route, or possibly because I lost too much time looking for those long-gone bridges. However in looking at it now via online satellite imagery and comparing it to the NRHP nomination and photos, it is clear that all or nearly all of the historical buildings on the farm have been razed. I woudn't go out of your way for that one.
The rest of your prospective list looks great. I'm assuming the unlisted NRHP and museum sites in those counties are too far off the I-90 corridor for you. There's always some lame stubs in the county categories (Category:Nobles County, Minnesota) — usually schools and lakes — that could be photographed.

- If you can venture beyond Worthingon, we could really, really use an exterior shot of the Church of St. Kilian! -McGhiever (talk) 16:02, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
- I might have to. That's just outside Wilmont, which is apparently the only place you can get Larry Lang's onion rings. I was initially inclined to remove that from the article, but a little research shows that might actually be a thing. Jonathunder (talk) 16:40, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
Well done so you made the call
Bully for you thank you, you made the call on Bared. I have to make hundreds and hundreds of mini decisions like that as I trog through the infamous Neelix list and I am the only one doing it, actually I would have listed it at RfD rather than boldly retargeting it but that is fine by me. If we have any chance of getting through them we have to use our initiative and sometimes that means we make the wrong call. I think on this one actually you made the right call although you have not rcatted it as {{R from verb}}
as I would have done. Now can you please leave me alone to get on with them. Si Trew (talk) 02:02, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

Wiki Loves Pride 2016
You are invited to participate in the third annual Wiki Loves Pride campaign, which runs through the month of June. The purpose of the campaign is to create and improve content related to LGBT culture and history. How can you help?
- Create or improve LGBT-related Wikipedia pages and showcase the results of your work here
- Document local LGBT culture and history by taking pictures at pride events and uploading your images to Wikimedia Commons
- Contribute to an LGBT-related task force at another Wikimedia project (Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, Wikivoyage, etc.)
Looking for topics? The Tasks page, which you are welcome to update, offers some ideas and wanted articles.
This campaign is supported by the Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group, an officially recognized affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation. The group's mission is to develop LGBT-related content across all Wikimedia projects, in all languages. Visit the affiliate's page at Meta-Wiki for more information, or follow Wikimedia LGBT+ on Facebook. Remember, Wiki Loves Pride is about creating and improving LGBT-related content at Wikimedia projects, and content should have a neutral point of view. One does not need to identify as LGBT or any other gender or sexual minority to participate. This campaign is about adding accurate, reliable information to Wikipedia, plain and simple, and all are welcome! If you have any questions, please leave a message on the campaign's talk page.
Thanks, and happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:14, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
Heitkamp Gun Control Section
Thank you for editing the Heitkamp gun control section, but since the portion you removed is well documented fact, there is no NPOV problem. So I reverted to the correct record. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MichelMT (talk • contribs) 19:52, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
A block might be in order
Thank you for helping contain persistent vandalism to Heidi Heitkamp. The page has been continuously vandalised a grand total of 5 times today, through 2 IPs and one registered user. It might be time to protect the page and block this vandal. Best, FoCuS contribs; talk to me! 22:53, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
- MichelMT's edits are not vandalism and he did post on the article talk page. You can respond there. Jonathunder (talk) 23:56, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
- Have you gone through the text? It is clearly non-neutral and synth, per your own revert earlier, not to mention coatrack. FoCuS contribs; talk to me! 01:15, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
- It's all those things, but it's not vandalism. A vandal is trying to make Wikipedia worse. This is not that. The difference is important. Jonathunder (talk) 02:23, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

sanctions
Regarding the notification you left on my talk page, you invited me to contact you if I have questions, and I do. In your message, sanctions are described as being imposed for "edits relating to the topic that do not adhere to" and 3 criteria:
- the purpose of Wikipedia
- our standards of behavior
- relevant policies
Could you clarify further which of these you are warning me about? Would it be possible for you to use Special:Diff to tell me what edits you are upset about? Your reply at Talk:People_v._Turner#Alcohol_brand_names levied accusations of OR/SYNTH but I do not understand the merits of those accusations in relation to my edits. I have included no OR here, I only include statements I find in reliable sources. I also do not include synthesis. I understand these concepts and how they are not a good basis for introducing statements. Ranze (talk) 18:50, 6 July 2016 (UTC)
- The notice is a required template to let editors know about the possibility of discretionary sanctions being applied. It does not imply anything more than it says. However, I would strongly encourage you to read the entire WP:OR policy page before editing further on BLP articles and talk pages. Jonathunder (talk) 18:56, 6 July 2016 (UTC)
Revdel request
Hi there. Thanks for blocking Alton Sterling for that nasty vandalism. Can you do me a favor and revdel these edits? [1] and [2]? I don't want them visible even though they were generated to report that editor. Thanks. —Torchiest talkedits 17:52, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
Vandalism
I had an edit conflict trying to leave a warning on the talk page of Desouzavalor--I assumed when I saw your warning we were responding to the same edits, but it turns out Desouzavalor has been busy in the past few minutes.
See theis diff: [3] and these from an IP account minutes earlier, making the same changes: [4] and [5].
I left a milder warning on the IP account, which was deleted, as was your warning on the registered account. Thanks for any help you can provide. Cheers! Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 07:28, 4 August 2016 (UTC)

Lodge Zare Zapadu and NRHP infoboxes etc
Hi, thanks for contributing the photo and starting the article on Lodge Zare Zapadu No. 44. I happened to notice it because some new link brought me to the Zapadni Ceska Bratrska Jednota article. It is 100% fine to create the infobox in the article as you did (perhaps by editing an infobox copy-pasted from another article?), but I wonder if you know about the NRHP infobox generator available at http://elkman.net/nrhp/infobox.php? It can make it easier to get started; it includes some categories and stuff that add to what you put in already. Probably you know about it and that it is covered at wp:NRHPhelp. Anyhow, I added your pic to the ZCBJ article and also I am adding the NRHP nomination document reference to your article. I added a bit to its content too. Keep up the good work! cheers, --doncram 21:22, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:MashaHamiltonHeadshot.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:MashaHamiltonHeadshot.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 20:23, 9 September 2016 (UTC)

Extended confirmed protection
Hello, Jonathunder. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy.
Extended confirmed protection (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas.
In July and August 2016, a request for comment established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:
- Extended confirmed protection may only be used in cases where semi-protection has proven ineffective. It should not be used as a first resort.
- A bot will post a notification at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard of each use. MusikBot currently does this by updating a report, which is transcluded onto the noticeboard.
Please review the protection policy carefully before using this new level of protection on pages. Thank you.
This message was sent to the administrators' mass message list. To opt-out of future messages, please remove yourself from the list. 17:49, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

Two-Factor Authentication now available for admins
Hello,
Please note that TOTP based two-factor authentication is now available for all administrators. In light of the recent compromised accounts, you are encouraged to add this additional layer of security to your account. It may be enabled on your preferences page in the "User profile" tab under the "Basic information" section. For basic instructions on how to enable two-factor authentication, please see the developing help page for additional information. Important: Be sure to record the two-factor authentication key and the single use keys. If you lose your two factor authentication and do not have the keys, it's possible that your account will not be recoverable. Furthermore, you are encouraged to utilize a unique password and two-factor authentication for the email account associated with your Wikimedia account. This measure will assist in safeguarding your account from malicious password resets. Comments, questions, and concerns may be directed to the thread on the administrators' noticeboard. A new user right for New Page Patrollers
Hi Jonathunder.
A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right.
It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However, due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here but very often a friendly custom message works best.
If you have any questions about this user right, don't hesitate to join us at WT:NPR. (Sent to all admins).MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:47, 15 November 2016 (UTC)

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
Hello, Jonathunder. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Please evaluate my draft for Joel McDonald
Here it is. List of references now increased to 42, which is much more impressive than the sloppy 3 from the deleted copy.
Joel's page has been deleted two times in the past, but that is only because he wasn't especially notable at the time. A couple of years later, he has garnered a lot of main roles as a voice actor as well as rising up the ladder in terms of being a more competent ADR director than when he first started. Apparently, Joel is now notable enough to even prompt Anime News Network to mention him welcoming his newborn kid.
- Things may well have changed since the AfD in 2011 and you certainly have a large number of references, but I'm not sure about the quality of those. Let me look into it a bit. Jonathunder (talk) 01:28, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you! Please let me know if there's anything I could change to make it even better. --Sk8erPrince (talk) 10:17, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
- You have many trivial mentions in low-quality sources. (Too many: discard the Twitter, for example.) Can you find better sources, like an in-depth profile or things that aren't fan news? Jonathunder (talk) 14:35, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you! Please let me know if there's anything I could change to make it even better. --Sk8erPrince (talk) 10:17, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
- One of the sources is from Twitter because it is reliable information from Joel's coworker, who is working on the same show (Yuri on Ice). Spreading misinformation is unprofessional for professional voice actors. Which of the sources are fan news again, if you don't mind pinpointing? --Sk8erPrince (talk) 15:47, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
- I've looked at my sources again. At least 70% of the sources are guaranteed to be reliable, since they're from Crunchyroll and ANN's news section, which are noted to be trustworthy by members of the Anime Project. The remaining 30% are reliable as well, since it's a reviewer's job to correctly identify the cast and crew members of whatever show they're reviewing. Con profiles on voice actors are absolutely sure on the info they post, since they want con goers to know of the voice actor's work. In any case, I believe that the page is now ready for publication. The only problem is, there is currently a restriction that prevents anyone but an admin from moving Joel's article into the mainspace, so I'd like to request that restriction be lifted. --Sk8erPrince (talk) 05:12, 10 December 2016 (UTC)
- The twitter sources aren't reliable at all, and the fancon ones are no good either, they are essentially just press releases, they are both primary sources. --Adam in MO Talk 04:04, 11 December 2016 (UTC)

- I don't think you've clearly looked into what is actually entailed in those Twitter sources. You just marked them off as unreliable just because they're from Twitter. However, you did not consider that one of the tweets is from Joel's coworker, Apphia Yu, and the other is from Funimation's official Twitter account. You're talking about reliability here, yes? Those con websites could provide useful. All the sources I've listed are reliable and verified. Don't you think Joel would correct them if they spread misinformation? In any case, I do believe that the article is now ready to be reincluded in the mainspace; I just need an admin's approval first due to reasons listed above. --Sk8erPrince (talk) 04:51, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
- Self-published sources like [[wp:Twitter|] can only be used as sources of statements about the author, not a third party. So what if that guy works with him, we only used reliable third-party sources. Blp articles must have the strictest of sources for legal reasons. The weakness of the sourcing in that article will surly cause it to fail to be put in the main space.--Adam in MO Talk 09:10, 11 December 2016 (UTC)

- I get the feeling that you don't know which sources are usually used in a bio regarding anime voice actors. If you're seriously doubting the verifiability of Joel's coworker, then I'll throw in something the ADR director of Yuri on Ice, Sonny Strait posted on Facebook. And if you still doubt that, then I'm sorry, you're just being paranoid. You also seem to be disregarding of the fact that if pro voice actors and directors spread false info on the web, that will damage their credibility and rep. I'm a contributor, alright? The last thing I want to do is spread false info on our encyclopedia. In any case, additional citation added. --Sk8erPrince (talk) 09:29, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
- It doesn't really matter how much faith you have in those statements, social media is not considered a reliable source here. I'm not paranoid (which doesn't seem to apply here anyway), I just don't have the naiveté it requires to believe performers at their word on social media. Are you reading the links to the social media policy and reliable sourcing? This really isn't a matter of discussion. Twitter and Facebook are not reliable sources. I'll not be responding to this thread unless pinged. If you don't understand why self published sources are unreliable there isn't anything I can say to change your mind. Good day, friend. --Adam in MO Talk 09:48, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
