This company founded as planning-company in 1994, and offered telecom service in 1995 (DDI-Pocket). It has mainly built base stations of 500mW-radio output (and sensitivity), unlike other PHS operators, which had mainly built 20mW base stations.
The high output made up some radio interference and such trouble as impossibility of telephone call in the dense area like Shinjuku, Tokyo in early era. But such a trouble is not reported afterwards. On the other hand, high output (and sensitivity) can also earn wider coverage of area per base station, therefore made it able to expand the service areas faster.

Afterwards, it still remains as a higher charge because it needed to go through the gateway telephone exchange facility. (More afterwards, there has been no need to do that.)
PHS was firstly get popularity because of its lower phone charge, but cellular telephone also reduced the charge, which was too expensive from the beginning. So superiority of PHS had reduced and its smaller area coverage made them mind about.
