Kurt Cobain

Hey, guy, I corrected an item on the Kurt Cobain page (I changed "cause of death" to "manner of death" for obvious reasons) and you changed it back! Mind explaining why you did that? SnoozeKing (talk) 21:20, 26 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit had been contested by multiple editors. As I noted in my edit summary, and per WP:BRD, when you make an edit which is reverted, the best course of action is to initiate a discussion at the article's Talk page, where involved editors can weigh in. What you generally should not do is simply reinsert your change, which may be construed as edit-warring. Cheers! DonIago (talk) 16:41, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

SpaceCamp

You people never learn do you? Look on the back of the DVD or Blu-Ray or watch it on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZJGe7sZvxo 147 minutes. Go bother somebody else. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.102.157.201 (talkcontribs)

IMDb clearly lists 107 minutes. If you don't want to be bothered, don't insert information which can easily be shown to be inaccurate. DonIago (talk) 18:54, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced Anthony Rapp article addition

Just in terms of removing the unsourced line in the Anthony Rapp article... fair enough, I was just being lazy and should have referenced it properly. I'll find the reference for it and put it back in at some point. All good Doniago! Deathlibrarian (talk) 07:38, 3 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Stephen Fry edit

Hello, You removed my edit to Stephen Fry's Personal Life. I believed that he would want his husband at the top of this section, not that he is on civil terms with Prince Charles as has been known for years. So, having checked lots of online sites to see if they were still married - no reports to the contrary - I merely stated that he married his husband Elliott Spencer, and the date on which they were wed.

This information is stated as an intention lower down on Stephen's page, under Sexuality, and then as a fact.

Yet no heterosexual person's marriage is ignored under Personal Life, but listed under Sexuality.

So I felt it should be listed where every other famous person's marriage is noted - under Personal Life.

Isn't the removal of this edit therefore (I hope unintentionally) homophobic? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Skylark84 (talkcontribs) 16:27, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If the information is stated and cited lower down, then I question whether it needs to be reiterated. If you feel it does, you're welcome to reinsert the information with the appropriate reference.
BTW, given that I am myself homosexual, suggesting that my edit was homophobic is rather humorous. DonIago (talk) 17:04, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Time travel

So your justification for undoing my edit here https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=List_of_time_travel_works_of_fiction&diff=756187915&oldid=756186042 was it was not sourced? Yet your revert not only kept in the unsourced item, but restored another equally unsourced item. Can you explain?Slatersteven (talk) 15:55, 22 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Seeing as how you already made other edits to the article, I'm not sure why you came here? That said, I'm not seeing where my edit restored anything... DonIago (talk) 16:26, 22 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Because I want to know why, and here is the version you restored to https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=List_of_time_travel_works_of_fiction&diff=756185283&oldid=755702512
Including the item you claimed I had added that needed sourcing
3 Time travel in videogames
Here is the same section (and the one you removed from my edit, but in a different place).
2 Time travel in anime
3 Time travel in videogames
I do not understand your decision to undo my edit and restore to a worse version,(nor why your marked it as a minor edit), in that it not only included the same (unsourced) materiel but added a new (unsourced) one. It does not mater if I removed the material subsequently, you did not remove it, and in fact just re-inserted it in a different order, why?Slatersteven (talk) 16:35, 22 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
When I review the link you provided showing my edit, the only change I see is that I removed your addition of the videogames section and the one entry you provided. Are you possibly referring to changes made by other editors? Given that all I'm seeing that my edit did was remove material, I'm not seeing how you can claim that I added unsourced material at the same time.
In any event, before I'd seen that you had made additional edits to the article, I was considering that my own edit may have been unwarranted. As you've since overwritten my change in any case, there doesn't seem to be much left to discuss? DonIago (talk) 17:07, 22 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Really you cannot see that my edit did not have "2 Time travel in anime" and yours restored it?Slatersteven (talk) 17:10, 22 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
When I view the diff you provided, I'm not seeing that. In any event, it's not there now, so can we declare the beaten horse dead? DonIago (talk) 17:49, 22 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It is not a dead horse when someone refuses to acknowledge they made a mistake, yours was not a minor edit, and did not remove, it just moved material. I am not sure why you refuse to explain your actions. If they were an honest mistake, and (for example) you did not mean to claim it was a minor edit fine. But it would be nice if you either admitted it was a mistake or denied it.Slatersteven (talk) 18:01, 22 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
As I've already said, I was going to review my changes and possibly revert them at the time, but you've since made substantial edits. I have no interest in revisiting what I did to ascertain whether or not I should have reverted it now that you've made it immaterial. If this is of significant concern to you, then in the future I would recommend that you consider reviewing WP:BRD and initiating conversations about troublesome edits before making further changes. Cheers. DonIago (talk) 19:25, 22 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Brewster

From Associated Press AP December 16, 2016 : NEW YORK (AP) — When the pop singer Laura Branigan died, The Associated Press, relying on information from her management company, reported in an obituary on Aug. 28, 2004, that she was 47 and had been born on July 3, 1957. Branigan was born July 3, 1952, and grew up in Armonk, N.Y. Testimonials from childhood friends all indicate she was born in 1952. She is also best described as having grown up in Armonk, not Brewster, as the AP's original obituary said." AP's correction of Laura Branigan's obituary. Born 1952. No Brewster! Is AP lying in their correction? When did Branigan's lived in Brewster? You know the address? This article from 1954 shows Branigan family living in Armonk. Branigans in 1954. Living in Armonk Doniago..I hope you are willing to discuss Laura's timeline and biography with me. So don't run away like a coward. Take the discussion and show me your knowledge about Laura Branigan. I am really looking forward to discuss this with you. I am ready. Are you? After this is over and you have done your homework, you will understand that you must undo your stupid mistake. Ok, lets go, I am waiting for your answer. Btw, one more thing. I have in my Laura collection her ssn-application from 1970, which she needed when she began at the drama school in New York 1970. It says born July 3, 1952. Would you like to see it? Not yet, maybe later. Remember, don't be a coward. Answer and I will answer you. OK? --Born53 swe (talk) 23:41, 22 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
