Bye Bye Birdie Live! is an upcoming live television production of Bye Bye Birdie, set to air in December 2017. It follows The Sound of Music Live!, Peter Pan Live!, The Wiz Live!, and Hairspray Live! in what has become a holiday season tradition for NBC. Harvey Fierstein, the decorated Broadway actor and writer, will adapt the musical for television, as he did for NBC’s The Wiz Live!, and Hairspray Live!. Jennifer Lopez will serve as an executive producer alongside Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina.[1] Lopez will star in a lead role as Rose "Rosie" Alvarez.[2]
