Aromal Chekaver (or Chekavan) was a legendary Thiyya caste warrior who is believed to have lived in northern Kerala, India, during the 16th century. He was a warrior figure of Vadakkan Pattukal (northern ballads) and the brother of Unniyarcha, another legendary warrior figure of the same ballads.
He was born in Puthooram Veedu family in the North Malabar region of Northern Kerala.[citation needed]
