BH Municipalities

Hi,

I am trying to find the underlying boundary files used to create this map http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bosnia_and_Herzegovina_municipal_elections_2008_result.png. Can you tell me how it was produced and if you do have spatial files can you share them with me?

waypoints — Preceding unsigned comment added by Waypoints (talkcontribs) 21:51, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, I've got no idea – I probably transferred that file from en.wikipedia to the Commons, but I did not create it AFAICR. —Nightstallion 22:33, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Nightstallion. I've just wrapped up fixing some clumsy Flemish-to-English prose in the article for the Di Rupo I Government and would like to expand more on the 541 days of negotiation (obviously not to the extent of 2010–2011 Belgian government formation or 2007–2011 Belgian political crisis, but something more), specifically the latter-days breakthroughs such as the BHV/state reform, nuclear phaseout, the budget and the Dexia bailout and the impetus lead by the S&P downgrade and Leterme's nomination as Deputy Secretary General of the OECD but I'm not sure if I'm particularly skilled enough to do so. In any case, time constraints may prevent me from doing so at all. Do you know of anyone more qualified to write on Belgian issues? Therequiembellishere (talk) 07:49, 7 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not off the top of my head, no … —Nightstallion 08:35, 7 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Comments requested at Flag of Western Sahara

Hello - Your comment is requested over at Talk:Flag of Western Sahara; there is an RfC underway there to help decide what the article contents should be. Politics? The coalition broke up, and the SDPK gave the PM post to the Respublika party to get a new coalition together, I suppose. —Nightstallion 19:28, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
SUPPOSE? Sorry, but whithout an argument you cannot remove such things from an article.--The Theosophist (talk) 19:32, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, chill. I didn't say we didn't have a source for the new PM (http://www.rferl.org/content/babnov_elected_kyrgyz_prime_minister/24431765.html ), but your guess is as good as mine as to what exactly happened. —Nightstallion 19:34, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Serbian parliamentary election, 2012, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Liberal Democratic Party (Serbia) (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:58, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Guinea=Bissau Prez

Please dont synthesize without a source. WP is not a weblog or twitter, to make pronounce ments on a new president without a source is certainly nto up to RS standards and would be OR.

The source says that he will continue in his role it doesnt NOT say he will be sworn in as acting/interim, which officially means that he will continue in his capacity of taking charge of presidential affairs not that he will be president which is different, however technical. Perhaps officially the post will be vacant, unless we have a source saying otherwise(Lihaas (talk) 21:43, 9 January 2012 (UTC)).[reply]

See http://rulers.org/rulg2.html#guinea-bissau . —Nightstallion 21:44, 9 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That doesnt mention anything about his swearing in which happarently happened yest. (hence a news story)
More reputable sources liek the NYT and AFP donet mention anything of the sort. in fact the latter says he will CONTINUE on in his position which is indicatibve off him being acting prez for even longer then.(Lihaas (talk) 12:59, 10 January 2012 (UTC)).[reply]
Yeah, but there's a difference. While the president is in office and alive, he's only standing in; once he's dead, he's actually acting president in his own right, sworn in or not. —Nightstallion 15:04, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, but you reverting me, Everyking and Nightstallion because you aren't reading into the news correctly and responding angrily to us when we try to explain our position to you is getting really tiring. Therequiembellishere (talk) 17:22, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly. There no point in emergency succession if the government has to wait for the next person in line to be sworn-in. Therequiembellishere (talk) 18:41, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Pakistani Senate election, 2012 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. BPositive (talk) 18:35, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

2012 Chinese Grand Prix

Hey, I noticed that you restored the content of the 2012 Chinese Grand Prix page with the comment that it "was not too soon". The race itself does not happen for another three weeks, and there is no real information about it aside from the fact that the race will take place. Generally, the editors at WP:F1 do not create race report pages until after the previous race has been completed, unless it is particularly notable, like the 2012 Bahrain Grand Prix. The article Mauritanian parliamentary election, 2012 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Its not true at all according to RS sources (as opposed to the individual's website). Election was in 2011 and 2013 [3]. Nor is it in the news. ([4][5][6]. Even the original cited website doesnt give a date.)

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I'm really not sure these are worthy of an article for each election, particularly as both have just been elected unopposed - I think for now a section in the main o le Ao o le Malo article is enough.

Forza Italia (2013), Italian politics and the Austrian election

Hello Nighstallion,

It has been a long time since we talked the last time. How are you doing?

I'm feeling bold today, thus I decided to start a new article on Forza Italia (2013), describing it as a proposed party, as you did with the PdL in 2007. What is more interesting to me is that the re-foundation of FI, which aims at being a liberal party, is likely to prompt the launch of a new conservative party on the model of the late National Alliance, although this time the former will be much bigger than the latter. Please feel free to edit and expand the article!

Interesting things are happening in Italian politics. Matteo Renzi is set to become the new leader of the Democratic Party, while Flavio Tosi, mayor of Verona and leader of Liga VenetaLega Nord, will soon launch his bid to become the leader of the Italian centre-right after Berlusconi. It is not clear whether he will have all his party behind, as he is the scourge of Liga Veneta's Venetists and of Lega Nord's Padanists and traditionalists: all these disagree with Tosi on Italian unity and detest his good relations with Italian "nationalists" such as Giorgia Meloni, leader of Brothers of Italy. However, despite having sided with Roberto Maroni and opposed Berlusconi, Tosi is basically a conservative liberal and his "national" agenda will include: federal reform, justice reform, support for the free-market, tax and spending cuts. Moreover, Tosi's arch-rival in Veneto, Governor Luca Zaia, who is more attuned with Venetists and the party's left, might support Tosi as long as Tosi supports his re-election campaign for President of Veneto in 2015. As usual, a lot depends on Berlusconi's actions. For once, the outlook is much calmer on the left side of the political spectrum!

What about Austria? I have been following the opinion polls, but what are your suggestions on the election's outcome? Your hopes? Will the BZÖ and NEOS qualify for the threshold? Will you support NEOS as you supported Liberal Forum in 2008? --Checco (talk) 11:20, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting events in Italy, for sure …
No, this time around I think I prefer the Pirates – NEOS is too neoliberal for me, I'm afraid. ;)
Great to hear from you, though! :)
Nightstallion 11:48, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, yes, I did not think of the Pirates: I hope you won't be disappointed again by the threshold.
Can you tell me anything more about your forecast and your auspices on the election's outcome? Thanks, --Checco (talk) 13:10, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Probably will be, though. Pirates will almost certainly fail, NEOS very probably.
SPÖ will remain first, ÖVP second, FPÖ won't gain too many votes, Greens will get around 15%, Stronach will probably do worse than he thought (the more he appears in TV, the worse he does – probably about 6–7%). BZÖ will certainly fail, NEOS likely, Pirates – sadly enough – too.

No Presents for Christmas on Bahamas

Hello, Nightstallion! According to [9], [10] the referendum on new constitution for Bahamas must be held on November, 2013. I had found the information, that now Bahamas will remain a British Dominion with the queen ahead [11]: "At this time, the Commission does not recommend any change in the Office of the Governor General as the representative of the Queen as Head of State under a constitutional monarchy. It does recommend, however, that consideration should be given to planning for the eventual evolution to a parliamentary republican system, with a non-executive President as Head of State. The Commission is of the view that this is the inevitable terminus of constitutional evolution to full sovereignty and independence, and the only issue is timing. In fact, we cannot allow ourselves the delusional luxury of assuming that the Queen (or King) of England will forever be available to be Sovereign of The Bahamas, or any of the other ‘independent’ countries of which she is monarch. The monarchy will continue to wane either by a process of attrition, or possibly by constitutional changes from within the UK itself." "Recommendation(s) 32. The Commission does not at this time recommend that there should be any change in the Queen as the Head of State and the Office of Governor-General as the representative of the Queen under a constitutional monarchy. However, the Government should embark on a process of public education to prepare the public for a possible change to a republican form of Government at some point in the future. Should such a change be made, it would require amendments to the Constitution providing for a non-executive national President, as Head-of-State, to discharge the functions formerly vested in the Governor General, with the Prime Minister and Cabinet continuing to exercise executive powers." That means that it's necessary to wait 40 years more to live to see, when Bahamians will growth for Republic. We have no choice to wait for public rejection of "new" constitution on referendum. Sorry to have to post directly on your talk page, but you may have noticed (on the WP:Elections and referendums talk page) that I am trying to get all the election and referendum articles tagged for the project. Unfortunately this is not making any progress, as people are claiming there is no consensus to do this, as no-one has responded on the Project talk page. Could you possibly comment on the proposal at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Elections and Referendums#Bot to tag articles for the WikiProject, as I'm getting rather frustrated by the attitude of the people at WP:BTR. Cheers, Number 57 12:34, 20 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Can you create a vector image of this flag? [12] I think it might be the original flag of Bhutan. It matches the description.--Hipposcrashed (talk) 16:32, 19 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Austrian presidential election, 2016, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Krems (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, Nightstallion, and thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia!

I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you worked on, Democratic Party (Japan) leadership election, 2010, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

It helps to explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the Help Desk. Thanks again for contributing!Template:Z79 Cnilep (talk) 05:59, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Extended confirmed protection

Hello, Nightstallion. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy.

Extended confirmed protection (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas.

In July and August 2016, a request for comment established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:

  • Extended confirmed protection may only be used in cases where semi-protection has proven ineffective. It should not be used as a first resort.
  • A bot will post a notification at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard of each use. MusikBot currently does this by updating a report, which is transcluded onto the noticeboard.

Please review the protection policy carefully before using this new level of protection on pages. Thank you.
This message was sent to the administrators' mass message list. To opt-out of future messages, please remove yourself from the list. 17:48, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

Edit of Isolated Point

Hi Nightstallion,

I've posted on the talk page regarding one of your recent edits to Isolated point. Specifically, you removed an example that I had added to the second section, with the explanation that it didn't seem right to you. I think the example is right, though perhaps it should be phrased more clearly. Could you take a look at it and perhaps describe why you think it's wrong? Thanks. Two-Factor Authentication now available for admins

Hello,

Please note that TOTP based two-factor authentication is now available for all administrators. In light of the recent compromised accounts, you are encouraged to add this additional layer of security to your account. It may be enabled on your preferences page in the "User profile" tab under the "Basic information" section. For basic instructions on how to enable two-factor authentication, please see the developing help page for additional information. Important: Be sure to record the two-factor authentication key and the single use keys. If you lose your two factor authentication and do not have the keys, it's possible that your account will not be recoverable. Furthermore, you are encouraged to utilize a unique password and two-factor authentication for the email account associated with your Wikimedia account. This measure will assist in safeguarding your account from malicious password resets. Comments, questions, and concerns may be directed to the thread on the administrators' noticeboard. A new user right for New Page Patrollers

Hi Nightstallion.

A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right.

It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However, due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here but very often a friendly custom message works best.

If you have any questions about this user right, don't hesitate to join us at WT:NPR. (Sent to all admins).MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:47, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
