Lachy Doley is an Australian musician, singer and songwriter best known for playing the Hammond Organ and Whammy Clavinet. Doley has recorded and/or toured with Jimmy Barnes, Glenn Hughes, Billy Thorpe, Joe Bonamassa and Powderfinger.[1]
Band Leader
Doley heads up the eponymous Lachy Doley Group who have recorded two albums, "Conviction" (2015) and "Lovelight" (2017).
"Lovelight", released in early January 2017, debuted at #40 on the main ARIA Album charts making it Doley's first solo Top 40 recording[2].
"Typically Individual Conforming Anti-Social" (2011) and "S.O.S (Singer Organ Soul)" are Doley's earlier solo works.
Session Musician
Doley has recorded with Glenn Hughes on two projects thus far; Hughes solo album "Resonate" (2016) and on a version of "Highway Star" on the Deep Purple tribute album "Re-Machined: A Tribute to Deep Purple's Machine Head" In this latter effort he worked alongside Steve Vai and Chad Smith[3]. Smith also appeared on Hughes' "Resonate"
Other recent recording sessions include with Mahalia Barnes & Joe Bonamassa on "Ooh Yeah! - The Betty Davis Songbook Album".
Tours
Powderfinger used Doley more or less exclusively as their touring keyboardist during their tours from mid 2007 onwards.
Doley is a regular member of Jimmy Barnes live shows including, most recently, Barnes' brief Australia day set aboard a ship on Sydney Harbour.[4]
