John Longworth is a British business consultant, and was the director-general of the British Chambers of Commerce from September 2011 until March 2016 . His roles normally specialize in politics, law and marketing PR
His Linked in profile states an Honorary PhD from WPP University, formerly the WPP Accounting College, as his 'education'.
John Longworth was educated at Smithills Moor Grammar School, Bolton, followed by bachelor's and master's degrees in science from Salford University.[1][2]

In March 2016, he became the first leader of a major business group, which has been unnamed, to back a Brexit.[3] Mr Longworth resigned from the BCC on 6 March 2016 after being suspended for breaching the BCC's policy of neutrality on Brexit, and other breaches of authority [4][5]
